About the Owner

I moved to the Languedoc in 2003. In 2005 I started a business looking after holiday homes in this area of Languedoc Roussillon. This includes: project management of restoration work, regular property surveillance checks, handling utilities companies, and more. Some of the owners rent out their houses and I manage the advertisement, handle enquiries and bookings, and in some cases the "meet and greet" and "check out" processes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We are delighted to have received 10 reviews and 5/5 rating "excellent" on Trip Advisor. Extracts from visitors' book:

Such a great base from which to enjoy this lovely area. Enjoyed having some space to spread out for a change. The rooms are bright and airy and the outlook to the greenery across the street is very pleasing. The outdoor balcony space is great for enjoying the sunny mornings and balmy evenings. The kitchen is really well set up with an excellent array of cooking equipment that enabled us to cook some of the wonderful local produce...... Graham and Gloria, Victoria, Australia

The village is blissfully unspoilt. Sitting on the terrace you can watch swallows darting about and hear wood pigeons calling nearby as you relax on the loungers..... Shona and Fraser, Edinburgh, Scotland

This is a very comfortable place to stay and wonderfully positioned for exploring in all directions. We really appreciated all the extras and equipment...... John and Bridget, Hertfordshire, UK

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The property is as described and in a great location to visit the places of interest such as Uzes, Pont du Gard, Camargue, Cevennes National Park and Lussan.

Gill the owner gave us good customer service and was available at all times

if required.

I would recommend this property as its only a very short distance off the A9 and central to most places.

We visited this area 14 years ago and was not disappointed in any way at all.

Fab Place to stay

  • 4 of 5

The property is situated in a delightful village and is lovely. It contains all of the facilities that you are likely to require on a holiday. The upstairs terrace is particularly nice being private and bathed in sunshine from the early morning until about 6pm (in late July). The property was clean and accurately described in the owners direct listing - the pictures told you exactly what you were getting. The owner gave good and friendly service and was on call if necessary. The location is perfect for visiting all of the areas of interest in this section of the south of France. We would stingily recommend the property to friends and relatives.

Charmant petit gite bien équipé

  • 5 of 5

Location

From the Owner

Superb location for accessing many of the attractive towns and villages of the Gard department in Languedoc Roussillon. On the border of Provence so vines, sunflowers and lavender in abundance. Near the famous tourist area of Uzes, mediaeval town containing beautiful 17th and 18th century houses and one of the South of France's most famous markets. The area is particularly good for local produce with many growers selling their produce on the roadside. In season, you really enjoy the freedom to buy fresh fruit and vegetables every day, no polystyrene packaging and freight handling - just mother nature at its best.

Further Details:

The Gard area of Languedoc Roussillon marks the beginning of Provence and the flora and fauna are similar with sunflowers, lavender and olive trees in evidence. It is a large wine producing area and fields of vines are a dominant sight in the countryside together with the Garrigue of wild juniper, rosemary, citrus, thyme, and green oaks providing wonderful aromas.

In addition to sampling the many local wines, there is also a wealth of locally grown produce: cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, melons, figs, kiwis, apples, tomatoes, asparagus, beans, aubergines, courgettes, etc. You can decide what you want to eat on the day and buy it fresh and add a touch of olive oil and a glass of wine to make the perfect healthy lifestyle.

The Mediterranean climate has warm, dry summers and mild winters. There are 300 days of sunshine per year, thanks in part to the wind. The Mistral pushes away the clouds and keeps the area free of pollution.

Ideal location for activity holidays, a cultural extravaganza, or a quiet place to unwind. Uzes, Nimes, Avignon and Orange are on the doorstep and offer an historical richness. Further afield you can experience the very different scenery of the Cevennes hills.

Nearby Uzes is a beautiful town of 17th and 18th century housing . It is a popular location for dining due to its many pavement cafes and restaurants. People-watching over a coffee and croissant or olive tapas and a glass of Cotes du Rhone are popular activities.
