Tournesol Sleeps 8 (4 Bedrooms)

Originally, a stone built barn and is now a very spacious (140sq m) 4 bedroom gite sleeping 8 people in comfort. Tournesol has a double height open plan living, kitchen and dining area. The fully equipped kitchen is very spacious and adjacent to the dining area, which seats 10 comfortably overlooking a large

covered terrace with BBQ. Also on the ground floor is a large family bathroom (shower + bath), separate toilet, utility area with washing machine and two large bedrooms. Bedroom 1, has a beamed ceiling and French windows overlooking the terrace. Bedroom 2, has a beamed ceiling and is furnished with 2 antique French sleigh beds. The large living area is arranged around a raised mezzanine. Stairs lead up from the living area to a galleried mezzanine which comprises the second seating area and this leads to 2 further generous sized bedrooms.

Built around the delightful courtyard of a lovely 18th century farmhouse and perfectly situated on the brow of a hill, Preniac commands stunning 360-degree views across the beautiful rolling countryside of the southern Lot. Set in 9 acres of tranquil parkland, which includes a small lake, it also has a 12 x 6 metre swimming pool with enchanting views across the valley from the sun terraces. Literally surrounded by rare orchids in Spring, and superbly located amidst sunflower fields and vineyards, Preniac is just outside the pretty flower filled village of St Pantaleon and 20 minutes drive from the River Lot. Five minutes drive away lies the lively medieval village of Montcuq with its 11th century tower and choice of cafes, bars and shops.

About Liz Halls-Moore

We now live permanently here at Preniac with our cats Sid, Milly and Ted.

We have fallen head over heels in love with the area and have made many friends here.

Before moving to Preniac from the UK Liz was an Art & Texitles teacher in a girls secondary school and Bill ran his owner computer consultancy.

We have spent the last 6 years restoring Preniac,

which was previously a farm dating back to the 18th century.

During May, June and September, we organise fully catered courses in Art and Creative Textiles taught by internationally renowned artists and tutors.

Why Liz Halls-Moore chose Lot

We love the Lot Department and in particular the Quercy Blanc area for its fantastically varied countryside and beautiful medieval towns. The rare orchids in spring, sunflowers in summer, glorious autumn colours and warm southern climate. In particular we enjoy Cahors wine and the delicious local goats cheese. The beautiful medieval towns and villages and their fabulous markets are stunning. The area is perfect for walking, cycling, or just watching the world go by in a local café.

There’s lots to do in summer with village fetes, wine festivals and marchés gourmandes in abundance. We like to kayak down the river or gently potter around a local brocante looking for bargains.

The area is easily accessible being midway between Bergerac and Toulouse Airports, and around 20 minutes from the main north south motorway

We are 5 minutes walk from the famous GR65 walking route (St Jacques de Compostelle Pilgrim route to Spain), with 360 degree panoramic views of the valley.

Preniac boasts its own tranquil lake and large pool with fabulous views.

Safe and secluded for families of all ages, and a quiet get away for couples, yet only five minutes drive from Montcuq leisure beach and it’s lively cafés and bars.

Many of our guests return year after year and as one contented guest recently remarked, “Preniac is a little bit of heaven”.

Wonderful holiday

A great set of gites in a stunning location. Amazing view from the pool. It's the second time we've stayed here and we had a wonderful time on both occasions. Liz and Bill are very welcoming and helpful hosts. Bill even built a wooden stair gate for our arrival as we were travelling with two toddlers. Highly recommended.
