There are more photos and information on our website (www.digglehousefarm.co.uk) and Facebook pages (search Diggle House Farm)
Diggle House Farm has been in the same family ownership for five generations. Two old barns and a Cottage have been developed to a very high standard (4*) for up to 9 self-catering guests. Offering great flexibility to accommodate larger families, grandparents or carers, the cottages can be rented as a whole with five bedrooms (Master King Size and en-suite) or the cottages can be split into completely separate one and two bedroom cottages, sleeping two, three and four respectively. Each cottage has it's own kitchen, bathroom, living and dining areas and the double adjoining doors connecting Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage are soundproofed offering complete separation.
Nell's Cottage is a separate self contained two bed cottage and has all the same facilities as Jim's Barn and Jenny's Cottage but in addition has it''s own South facing walled garden, (a real sun trap on a sunny day!)
The farm is located approximately one mile from the village of Diggle, which has two pubs, a newsagents, Post Office and village shop. There is a Band Club and a Children’s Activity Centre, along with three children’s parks, a country park, famous Canal Tunnel and acres and acres of green belt land with walks, cycling and bridleways.
Slightly further and you are in the the other villages that make up the area of Saddleworth, with pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops

My wife and I live in Diggle village, one mile away from our holiday cottages. The cottages are located on our farm, which has been in our family for five generations, and my sister and her family still live in the farmhouse and run a Riding School (www.saddleworthstables.co.uk).
Saddleworth has something for everyone – it has a rich tradition of Brass bands, Whit Walks and Rushbearing. In addition there are: Fantastic walks, cycling or horse rides, sailing, golf, canal festivals, industrial heritage, Pennine architecture, real ales, live music, great food, parks for the kids.
Last of the Summer Wine country is only 20 minutes away.
All this and only 45 minutes away are Manchester and Leeds, with all their cosmopolitan offerings of theatre, shopping and galleries.

Nigel Shaw purchased this cottage in 1933
Diggle House Farm is in a fantastic hilltop location, overlooking the valley and village of Diggle. It is approximately one mile from the village centre, making it a nice walk, or only a couple of minutes in the car.
The farm accesses bridlepaths and walks from the farm gate and, whichever way you set off in, you will enjoy absolutely fabulous views and plenty of fresh air!
Away from crowds and hustle and bustle, our farm offers a tranquil relaxing retreat.
We are close enough to join in all the fun though - there are so many local festivals and events (some quite quirky!)
There are plenty of places to eat out, with a vast selection of choices, whether it is traditional fayre, Chinese, Indian, Italian - something for every taste.
Eco Friendly: The cottages are very well insulated, are very snug and have a number of green technologies built into them:
A Ground Source Heat Pump takes the heat out of the ground to produce all the heating and hot water.
Rainwater is captured and recycled.
Underfloor heating creates an environment that is clean and pleasant. (It is especially good for asthmatics)
We have a number of solar PV arrays on the farm, generating up to 18.5kWh of "clean" electricity!
We have chosen LED lighting wherever possible, with "traditional" energy efficient bulbs as our second choice.
By staying at Diggle House Farm, you will be "doing your bit" for the environment!
We are also located with the local Horse Riding School - it couldn't be any more convenient to have a ride whilst staying here. From complete novice to experienced rider, everyone is catered for: www.saddleworthstables.co.uk.

Stayed here with my hubby for 10 days, cannot recommend enough! Very clean, everything worked great, the owners were on the end of the phone if you need anything, otherwise they left you to your own devices. We needed their help and they were stars!
Bed was very comfy, as is the entire cottage, will definitely be back.
