Spacious Apartment, Sauvignon is set in a secure converted 18th century winery. In the popular village of La Redorte, within walking distance of the Canal du Midi. The apartment is situated on the first floor with direct access to it own totally private terrace. Where you can relax and sunbathe. You can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine or two. The apartment has two bedrooms, large well equipped kitchen and dining room. Leather sofas and Flat Screen TV with UK channels, there is a bathroom with bath and shower above and a separate toilet. La Redorte itself has a boulangerie, pizzeria, restaurant, supermarket, butchers, post office, bank, tabac, hairdressers and also petrol station. There are many excellent restaurants in the immediate area. The village of La Redorte, is on the banks of the Canal du Midi, a major leisure attraction for "cycling, boating and walks. There is also a new swimming complex in the next village, with indoor and outdoor heated pools. See link below.

Very comfortable apartment in lovely location
The apartment is comfortable and well equipped with a large private outdoor patio. It is situated in a peaceful village but with easy access to a supermarket, it is quiet with no road noise. The apartment and pool were clean and well maintained and Vanessa was very helpful with any queries we had. I would recommend it to anyone. We enjoyed visiting Carcasonne, Minerve and the nearby lake for swimming.
Comfortable apartment in good location
The apartment is very comfortable with good beds, reliable WiFi, and well-equipped kitchen. The patio has a large umbrella and plenty of shade by mid afternoon.
The pool in the complex is nice but short, and the pool area is small and uncomfortable, as there are no chairs/recliners (nowhere to put them?). There is a nice lake (Lac de Jouarres) nearby if you like swimming though.
There are a lot of notices around forbidding this and that, which detracts from the ambience a bit, though the complex is very pleasant, as are the residents.
The local take-away does very good pizzas, and the Restaurant La Rivassel on the canal is a great location for boat-watching, and does decent food.
There is a particularly idyllic circular walk ("Boucle 1" on the map near the restaurant) which goes along the old railway track, through vineyards along lanes shaded by plane trees, and back by the canal
Perfect base for the region
We stayed here a week with our young family, its a super flat in a converted historical building complete with huge beams and a lot larger than the photos depict. Its got a well equipped kitchen and a huge private terrace which was essential with our children. Whilst it gets quite hot on the terrace as it lacks any shade, the location provided an ideal base to explore the huge array of sights of the region.
Quiet and relaxing
The apartment was spacious and comfortable, very well equipped with a private patio area and great BBQ. If you are looking for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the place to be, however we found the availability of places to eat and drink were in very short supply and not always open when you wanted them to be. One pizza shop that you could eat in but we decided to takeaway as it was small with no atmosphere and we were the only ones in it. The only other restaurant is a five to ten minute walk away down on the canal and quite expensive. No other bars or restaurants in the locality at all. Good patisserie and supermarket close by though.

Activity and Interests
Lac Jouarres is 10 minutes drive and has a lovely lake and sandy beaches with a restaurant. Narbonne beach is approx 45 minutes drive and has long sandy beaches and lovely blue sea. Other beaches, 10 minutes from Narbonne is the beach village of Gruissan with three beaches and the scene of the film ‘Betty Blue’. There are 42 beaches along the Golffe du Lion with the majority of them less than an hour away.
Fly to Carcassonne the apartment is just 25 minutes from the airport.
Shannon, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Brussels and Franfurt-Hahn to Carcassonne airport.
Fly to Toulouse – we are 1 hour and 30 minutes from airport.
Fly to Perpignan – we are 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The apartment is in the village of La Redorte. The Canal du Midi, with its bistros and lively canal culture is a short stroll away.
Narbonne is 45 minutes. Perfectly located for exploring the Lanquedoc Roussillon Region and its beautiful villages and Cathar castles. The medieval town of Carcassonne (La Cite) about 15 miles, Narbonne (40 miles), Minerve (10 miles) and the magnificent Cathar castles of Lastours are all easily accessible and a must-see when in the area.
Canal du Midi. More excellent canal-side restaurants can be found in next village of Homps or in Rieux Minervois 6km away.
The village has a large supermarket (Intermarche -open every day) and a number of shops including butchers, boulangerie, pizzeria, tabac, post office, pharmacy, hairdressers/beauty salon and a bank, doctors & dentist.
Ideal area for walking, cycling. Local activities also include canoe/canyoning, water sports, horse riding. Golf course nearby in Carcassonne.
Outdoor adventure park suitable for all ages at Lac de la Cavayere (about 30 mins away) and supervised beaches. Visiting traditional French markets or free wine tasting at the local vineyards are other activities to be enjoyed daily in the area.

We require a 25% deposit at time of booking. The final payment is due 8 weeks before arrival. We also require a £200 returnable damage deposit. The apartment will be available from 4pm on the day of your arrival, the apartment must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
25% is required at the time of booking.
The remainder can be spread over several months. On a monthly payment plan.
The full amount must be paid 8 weeks prior to commencement of your holiday.
Change Over days in July & August are usually Thursday-Thursday, Please enquire if you require a different change over day. Other months are flexible
