Chalet and Apartment in Morillon, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Spectacular Location In Rural Village Suitable For Holidays In Both Summer And Winter

Chalet/Apartment Elisabeth is situated in Morillon village (near to Samoens and about 1 hour from Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix) in the French Alps. Our Chalet (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, log fire) and Apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) offer excellent bases for Summer holidays, easy access to Summer activities, and Winter skiing/snowboarding to suit all abilities (located about 200m from the ski lifts of Morillon, giving direct access to the Grand Massif with 265km of pistes, including Flaine and Samoens). The Chalet and Apartment are well equipped and are available for rental either separately or together. Outside there is covered parking, basement storage, and a large garden with barbecue and garden furniture. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful Chalet. Really well equipped, especially for little ones with all the games! So much to see and do in and around Morillon from shopping in Annecy to the thousands of cols to discover and wonderful lakes and rivers to swim in. Fantastic location for a family holiday

We are a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and have just had a fantastic 2 weeks at Chalet Elisabeth in Morillon. The accomodation is as described with lots of space over 2 floors (kids upstairs), we made good use of the well equipped kitchen and barbecue. Morillon itself is a very attractive town within easy walk of the chalet, there are several restaurants and of course the bakery, on a sunday there is a take-away van selling spit roast chicken and ham. Samoens a 5 minute driver away has a large supermarket as well as a weekly market(wednesday) with lots of local produce and well worth a visit. There is a lake in Morillon with a supervised area(life guards) for young children and the water is refreshingly!! cold and we spent many hours alternating between relaxing in the sunshine and a quick dip, my younger two really enjoyed the zip wire which zigs zags around the lake. From an activities point of view there is so much to do walking,cycling,canoeing(rafting),para-gliding,swimming or just relaxing. There are lots places to visit for day trips Annecy, Morzine, Sixt ver la cheval, Chamonix to name but a few. If you enjoy cycling then this area is a must with several categorised climbs on your doorstep Joux Plane, Avoriez and Ramaz. We regularly holiday in France and we can whole heartedly recomend Chalet Elisabeth as a summer destination.

Wonderful week in Morillon

We enjoyed a fantastic half term week in Morillon and Chalet Elisabeth. We are used to organising our own ski holidays but this one was made so easy due to the owner's (Kath) organisation and helpful approach. The chalet was very clean and comfortable, easily spacious enough for our family of five and a lovely base to return to each day. A short walk to the lifts in the morning with the ski hire shop next door meant real convenience but with your own peaceful spot to return to each day.

The ski area is large, interesting and easy to navigate around and even during a holiday week lift queues were not a problem. We were blessed with more than our fair share of sunshine and the views were simply stunning!

Morillon is quiet but pretty and there are enough options to sample the traditional Savoyard cuisine.

This is a chalet and a ski area that we would definitely return to!

Fabulous morillon

We arrived for our stay to a fantastically clean and well prepared chalet. The owners could not of been more helpful and professional throughout the process. I had reservations about booking direct at first and now can completely and honestly say I would not hesitate to book again with Kath & Ken (and definitely will be). The chalet/apartment has a real French feel about it, located very close to the lifts, shops, restaurants etc but not on top of them. It is in a private driveway with approx 6 other chalets and they all look finished to a high standards. You really do feel spoilt arriving back to your holiday home every time you return. The interior is all you can want from a chalet, warm,cosy,functional and well equipped. I rarely leave reviews as I can be difficult to please but this chalet deserves it.

Once again I must say a big thank you to Kath & Ken for making our first christmas in the Alps a great one.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The Lake in the village has a beach area and is suitable for swimming in the Summer.

Travel:

The property is located about 1 hour's drive from Geneva airport. A car is recommended for Summer holidays to make the most of the spectacular scenery and to explore the area. In the Winter, transfer companies are available to take you to and from the Chalet, so many skiers/snowboarders are quite happy to manage without a car.

Distances:

The property is about 200m from the centre of the Morillon village and 4km from the village of Samoens. It is about 1 hour's drive to Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix.

Further Details:

Morillon village has food shops, restaurants, an excellent bakery, a tourist information shop, a lake (suitable for Summer swimming) and ski lifts. The village of Samoens is 4km away and has many more shops and restaurants, an open air swimming pool and ski lifts.
