Bracondale is a large, detached family house with six bedrooms and four bathrooms, including two master bedrooms with sea views and en-suite facilities. Situated in a peaceful residential area on Boston Square, opposite the Millennium Sensory Gardens, it is only ¼ mile from the centre of the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton with its ample range of shops, pubs, restaurants and amusements, yet is less than 165 yards to the sandy beach front. 11 of us 1-81. Brilliant for us all. Very well equipped – we even had Sunday lunch outside. Welcome pack a lovely touch thank you. EH & Family. April 2013

What a beautiful wonderfully furnished house. Felt welcome as soon as we arrived and now we all want to live here! This house certainly has the wow factor, but has a wonderful, homely atmosphere! A fantastic place to stay. JB & Family, Flitwick, April 2013

What a lovely Easter weekend in your beautiful house! This is our annual event and the 1st without Grandma, but the sun, sea + pleasant surroundings have cheered us up. We hope a very many happy moments are shared by many families in the future here! xxx. Alison & Party. March, 2013

10/10 for Cleanliness, Comfort and Equipment, Location and Value for money. Spacious accomodation, good location for getting to the beach. Easy walk to town centre, we tried to book again for next year but they were already booked. Andrew & Family, Ingatestone, 27/12/2012

Bracondale, Hunstanton, is the perfect venue for a large group of family or friends, sleeping 12.

  • 5 of 5

A large Victorian house set in a pretty square, and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms are huge, clean and nicely decorated. Two lounges (one with a pool table), were extremely comfortable with large TVs and overlooking the gardens and the sea. We enjoyed the beaches to the north of Hunstanton, with lovely pubs and excellent food and beer. I was impressed with Hunstanton, it was very clean and not too 'tacky' that can be associated with many sea-side resorts these days. A beautiful place to relax with a family, just outside the hustle and bustle of Hunstanton town, with parking for 4 large cars and an enclosed garden. Highly recommended and I will pass our experiences at Bracondale to anyone that will listen.

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Property was amazing very spacious and was very clean. Near to the town and near to pubs, restaurants and the sea front. We enjoyed the posh welcome pack with milk, apple juice, bread, crisps and cakes which is a very nice touch. We had excellent weekend and I would recommend the property.

The only small negative was the range cooker which took the ovens an age to cook anything, it has been well used and we feel for that this needs replacing to reflect the quality of the property.

A large family would enjoy the property and we would go back again, excellent.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very kind comments. We're delighted to announce that we have now installed a new dual fuel cooking range. The new range has electric ovens, one fan and one conventional, also a 7-burner gas hob. We've tried it out during our holiday at Bracondale this year and we were very pleased with the results. We hope our guests will enjoy it too. Best regards, Robert and Claire

Lovely family house

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Bracondale for two weeks with an ever changing group of friends and family aged between 11 months and 80 plus. In that two weeks we hardly used the car as the house is so well sited for the beach, walks and more traditional seaside entertainment. The property is spacious and well appointed and even with 12 in the house it was easy to find somewhere quiet to read or perhaps enjoy the sea view. The relationship with the owner was excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to any family who want to enjoy this quarter of Norfolk in a relaxing well maintained property. We were a party of 6 couples, plus young children (1-4 yrs), looking for a nice place to stay over NYE. Bracondale in Hunstanton proved to be perfect and well above our own expectations. From the initial enquiry, to payment and key collection, the owners Robert and Clare were incredible helpful and the welcome basket on our arrival was very much appreciated.

The house is actually a lot bigger than it appears in the photos and although there were so many of us, it never appeared crowded and the kitchen was perfect for hosting meals for the dozen adults. The beds were very comfortable and available bathrooms more than adequate for all the guests.

The beach, the town and all the amenities are only minutes walk away and the children loved having the nearby playground and exploring the rock pools on one of the beaches. We would also thoroughly recommend a really nice pub about 20 mins walk away, called the Lodge. A nice friendly atmosphere and they even gave us our own private dining room.

Overall, an excellent venue for a family occasion or celebrating with friends as we did. I can not recommend Bracondale enough and we've even considered another visit in the Summer.

Wonderful Family weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our daughter and her partner were spending Christmas in Australia so we decided to have a family get together in Hunstanton, in December, to celebrate Christmas early. We were 8 adults, a 3 year old and a baby and we stayed at this wonderful large Edwardian house, very close to the sea front from Friday to Monday. The weather was dreadful, but we were warm, there was plenty of space, a pool table and a choice of television to watch, so no complaints from anyone. We walked to a nearby restaurant they had recommended, for a pre-booked meal on the Sunday, which was also very good. The owner and his son were there when we arrived with a welcome basket and explained how the house worked. We would all like to return when the better weather comes, so we can enjoy this wonderful house again.

Location

From the Owner

When we saw Bracondale we both fell in love with its period features and location and whilst a lot of work was required, we knew that it would make a perfect holiday home. We believe that we have achieved our goal in making the house a superb place to stay, and when we get the chance, we love coming over to Hunstanton. The access it provides to the North Norfolk coast along with the convenience of being in town, makes a great combination. Boston Square is a lovely quiet location opposite the Millennium Sensory Park, close to both the beach and the town centre and with some great views. On a clear day in summer, we enjoy relaxing and watching the sun set over the Wash.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Norwich at 44 Miles Nearest Barpub : The Golden Lion Hotel at 0.1 Miles Nearest Golf : Hunstanton Golf Club at 1.4 Miles Nearest Train : King's Lynn at 16.5 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Chives Brasserie at 0.2 Miles Nearest Beach : Hunstanton at 200 Metres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The house is 200 yards from the beach and only a little further from the famous striped cliffs. The beach and cliffs face west, which means they capture the sunshine and are the perfect spots for viewing some spectacular sunsets.

The shallow beach runs for two miles along the coast to Brancaster and at low tide rock pools appear around the groynes. The seafront is bordered by large Victorian and Edwardian houses and you can walk along the top of the cliffs to the lighthouse.

Travel:

The house is within a short walking distance of both the town centre and the beach and there is a frequent Coast Hopper Bus service providing links from King's Lynn to Cromer. However, to enjoy the most of access to the rest of the North Norfolk Coast, use of a car is recommended.

Distances:

Whilst set in a quiet Victorian square, the house is only a 200 yard walk from the main high street.

The house provides an excellent base and access to more of the beautiful North Norfolk coast.

Further Details:

The house enjoys fine views across the Wash to Lincolnshire and additionally overlooks the Hunstanton Sensory Park.

Created in 2000 the Sensory Park transformed the area into a stimulating and highly accessible garden. The garden won an award for its contribution to conservation and improvement in the countryside and has proved popular with local residents and visitors.

Hunstanton is home to a fairground, aquarium and seal sanctuary, leisure pool, theatre, a number of amusement arcades and a long promenade. In good weather, boats travel out to view grey seals that have colonised sand bars in the Wash and to the north of Norfolk. The centrepiece of the town remains the large sloping green, which runs from one end of High Street to the promenade.

The principal shopping streets of the town are elegantly laid out as stone buildings, some with glazed canopies, evoking the Victorian and Edwardian eras of their construction and retaining a vibrant mixture of outlets. There is a Sainsbury's Superstore within easy walking distance and a Tesco Superstore less than half a mile away from the house.

There are many places to eat out within a short walk, from fine dining to high quality fish and chips. Just around the corner, there is an excellent curry house alongside a Chinese takeaway. in the coastal villages to the north and east of the town there are a number of notable high quality pubs and restaurants, easily accessible by car.

Facilities

From the Owner

The ambience of the house means that you can feel yourself relax as soon as you walk in the door. We are still finding features of this Arts & Crafts house that continue to charm us. The large pub-sized pool-table is a benefit both for the grown-ups and children alike, and having a second sitting room allows those wanting their own space, to read, listen to music, or to watch something different on the telly, a great benefit. Pop round the corner for a curry or Chinese, or walk to the nearby pub for a quick pint is a pleasure we enjoy when at Bracondale. Also, there are some good restaurants in town. As an alternative, we might take a drive along the coast road for a meal at one of the many great pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages.
