Villa in Torrox, Costa del Sol. Peaceful Private Location 10 mins to Torrox shops bars & banks

A lovely 3 bedroom detached villa with private pool set in beautiful countryside, 10 minutes drive from the village of Torrox along a well used track. The villa offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, coast and town in peaceful surroundings. The accommodation is all on one level with a full bathroom and also a separate shower/wc room. The pool measures 7 x 4 metres. Pool Depth 2 metres deep end and shallow end 1.5 metres, situated in front of the property. The pool has night lights for those warm Spanish evenings and a late night dip. Please note that the pool area is balustraded and gated off from the villa. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. There are many bars and restaurants in Torrox, the Costa and surrounding towns and villages. Lots of local markets and nearby supermarkets. El Engenio shopping mall and water park nearby are within 20 minutes drive.

About Mr John Wood

My wife and I live in Cornwall UK. Both retired with family and Grandchildren. We have spent many holidays with family in Spain and have always loved the weather, scenery, culture and food. We spend our winter months in the villa away from the cold and damp winter in the UK which gives us the best of both worlds. We especially love the villa because over the years it has become our second home, we spend many hours gardening in the warmer climate enjoying the peace and serenity it offers.

Why Mr John Wood chose Torrox

The reasons for buying the property and its location were several, firstly we fell in love with the Costa Del Sol many years ago when holidaying with family and friends. The location of Torrox was so appealing being central to the towns, the coast and motorway. Torrox being advertised as having one of the best climates in Europe, which also sold it for us. The property location we chose for the reasons being local to villages, Nerja, Torre Del Mar, Caleta Marina, banks, post offices, restaurants and night life. It is also just off major roads with access to Malaga airport, whilst being away from all the noise associated with it. The views from the property are spectacular accessed via 3km from the town of Torrox via a part tarmac/concrete part dirt road used quite frequently by other owners.

What makes this villa unique

The home with all its amenities, the private swimming pool, the peace and quiet, the half acre garden fully enclosed growing many species of fruit. The views of the sea, mountains, town and surrounding countryside and lovely walks. Torrox town is literally ten minutes away by car, Torrox Costa 15 minutes ride, where you have all the amenities you could need. There are gates at the entrance to the property giving it security, with ample room to park your vehicle. There are also more gates to keep the pool safe for young children. Internet and English programs on TV should they be required. The property was constructed for us by a local registered builder in 2002 and for both ourselves and guests we would hope it is home from home, with added benefits.

There is Air-conditioning in all bedrooms and lounge/living room. Windows with fly nets fitted. Outside: Large gardens with fruit trees. A large pool patio area with 6 loungers, cushions, umbrella and table. Barbecue with adjacent tap and hand basin. 7 by 4 metre swimming pool with shallow 1.5m and deep end 2m. Roman style steps leading into it. Around the back of the property is large drying area. There is plenty of private space and ample car parking. The drive is secure with its own gates which can be locked if required. Utility Room: Washing machine situated in kitchen with a large outdoor drying area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned at the end of visitors stay, towels and linen are provided. Beach towels are with charge 8 euros per week. We do meet and greet at the property and a compliment package of essentials is provided. Linen is changed once during a 2 week stay. Other: Dining room to seat six open planned between the lounge and kitchen.

Fantastic return visit

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Joanna and we loved every second yet again.

We have stayed in various villas in Torrox over the past 10 years but this one is definitely the best for us in our opinion.

We love the layout and the spacious feel around the villa and the pool.

The villa is totally secluded and not overlooked at all and the views are amazing.

The little things that also separate this villa from the others for us are the good, constant wifi connection and the large American fridge freezer with ice maker.

We will definitely be returning again next year

Peace & quiet & views!

Lovely well equipped & maintained villa, a real home from home & better than your average rental property. It's 10 mins up a bit of a rough track but the views once you get there are sensational looking over picturesque Torrox and down to the coast !! We were met and taken up to the villa by Steve who was happy to answer any questions and told us when he would be round to check the pool. Not the villa if you like to be at the centre of the action but if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing break look no further. A refreshing pool with a large level area around it with sunbeds and a good large brolly, a very welcome covered patio for breakfast and lunch and plenty of parking space. The house is very well equipped - plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, comfortable beds, spacious comfortable lounge with sofas, a good tv and music centre, everything you need in the kitchen. Some nice places to eat and drink down in the village especially in the pretty square with lots of umbrellas hanging to great effect. Very close to good road networks so easy to go exploring - we went to Granada on a cloudy day to visit the Alhambra and the coast is only 10 mins from Torrox. Good Wi-Fi and mobile phone coverage. We were only there for a week and came back wishing it had been longer!

Great property - perfect for a family of six, definitely need a car!

Overall a very positive stay. The house is well maintained, spacious and has a lovely pool and outlook over Torrox, the hills and the sea. The house has air conditioning in the lounge and one bedroom which helps on a hot evening. The house has everything we needed - dishwasher, wifi, DVD, UK tv, washing machine, fridge and freezer and worked perfectly. We used the house to relax and enjoy the pool but also had some good day trips. Granada, the Caves of Neja and Frigilano are all good places to visit. Aquavelis is a great day out with the kids. The couple who look after the property are extremely helpful. Local Mercado in Torrox Costa was a good supermarket to use and there are local shops and a bakery in Torrox itself. The house is accessed by a steep mountain road which is unsurfaced in places - its fine once you've done it once but you definitely need to hire a car. We flew into Almeria on Iberia flights from Heathrow via Madrid which worked well. We would definitely recommend it for a relaxing week or two!

Relaxing family holiday in a superb villa.

This was our 2nd time staying in the villa, the 1st being 2 years ago. We have been coming to this area of Spain for about 8 years, and this villa is a fabulous find. The track is rough towards the end but absolutely fine. It was so lovely going back to somewhere we knew. You never tire of the stunning views once at the back of the property.

You overlook lovely Torrox Pueblo with the sea in the distance, and to the right are the mountains - gorgeous!!

Lots of lovely meals/tapas had in Torrox and in nearby Competa ( in particular Restaurant El Pilon) and the beaches visited at Torrox Costa and Burriana in Nerja.

The villa is just home from home, very well equipped but with added sun and a pool !!!

Great communications from the owners throughout the whole booking process.

I would definitely recommend this villa for a fabulous, relaxing family holiday. We will be returning again, I am sure!

Fantastic spacious peaceful villa

We have been staying in different villas around Torrox for the last 10 years and I can honestly say this was my favourite.

Very clean and very spacious I loved the layout.

The pool is fenced off with gates that can be locked to stop toddlers wandering too close if needed.

There is a winding track to the villa but this is worth every step when you see the stunning views.

We were met by a Freind of the owner of the villa just off the motorway and he lead us up to the villa which completely took the stress out of finding it.

He also sorted any problems we had out which was only one small thing but he was out to help within the hour.

We will definitely be returning soon.

Relaxing, peaceful Villa.

We arrived for a family holiday, with two teenagers and a 12 year old for a 15 night stay. Wonderful villa, stunning scenery which you only appreciate once at the back of the property. You look down over the lovely village of Torrox, to the right you have the stunning mountains and in the short distance ahead , the coast. There is a good size pool with gradual step entry with lights you can use for night swimming - lovely ! The villa was clean and well maintained. All of our meals were eaten under the veranda, which was lovely. There is a BBQ but you cannot use in July or August due to fire risks (which we found out upon arrival) but after speaking to the owner when we arrived (as our holiday covered the latter end of August and beginning of Sept), he said that with due care and attention using charcoal not paper, we were allowed to use. There is Wifi in the villa, which is invaluable with teenagers! The villa is home from home with the added benefits of the sun!! The lovely villages of Frigiliana and Competa are very picturesque and worth a visit. Nerja is a larger town further down the coast which is lovely too, with a wider range of watersports. Torrox Costa is the nearest beach, this also has pedaloes for hire. To be honest, the road/track leading to the villa was a little worse than we expected but having seen it the following morning in daylight and having driven a couple of times, it was fine. Great communications with the owners, both before and during our holiday. You are met by the Meet and Greet agents, who are were friendly. All in all, a fabulous holiday for my family and we would love to return to the villa one day. We would recommend for a relaxing, peaceful holiday.

The pretty and historic Andalucian white village of Torrox Pueblo is approximately 5 mins drive. The village has a daily covered market, outdoor Monday market, many restaurants and bars, shops and banks. 10 mins drive from the coastal resort of Torrox Costa with a scenic promenade and many restaurants and bars, supermarkets, etc. 15 mins drive from the bustling seaside resort of Nerja with its famous caves and Balcon de Europe with many restaurants, bars, shops and beaches.

Changeover Day:
Booking days are normally Saturday or Sunday, but can be flexible dependant on other bookings. Access on day of arrival 4pm. Property to be vacated on departure at 10am. For those with late flights the owners must be notified for the arrangements of meet & greet.

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
