Lovely cottage in a special location

  • 5 of 5

Very attractive barn conversion in a quiet rural location. The roundhouse is an interesting conversion that is tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped, with all the necessary items provided. The owners live on site but the property is not overlooked, they were welcoming and helpful.

There are good walks directly from the door much enjoyed by our dog and good access to the north coast beaches and Bodmin moor.

We may return in the spring and recommend it to our friends.

A Fantastic Experience

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely week staying in the Roundhouse over Easter with my wife, 8 year old son and our dog.

Being the first time we have used Owners Direct, I think it's fair to say we were a tad apprehensive prior to our arrival on what to expect. From the moment we arrived though, those fears were quickly forgotten, as we were greeted, welcomed and extensively shown around the property by the owner Helen, which helped us settle in and feel comfortable in our surroundings pretty much straight away.

The cottage itself was stunning, well kitted out and spotlessly clean. The beds were super comfy, the bathroom immaculate and the kitchen was a great space, fully kitted out with all necessary utensils and appliances. The garden is self contained and beautifully maintained, so we had complete confidence letting our dog roam as she pleased. The real star of the property though is the Roundhouse's living room, which has a simply stunning wood burner as the main feature in the centre of the room, further enhancing the lovely cottagey feel of the place.

There's obviously something more personal about staying in someone's own property compared to a hotel and it must also be hard for the owners to switch off from what's going on and how people are treating their property. Helen and Rory have the balance perfectly right in my opinion; not once were we made to feel uncomfortable, they were never intrusive, but every time we bumped into them they checked we had everything we needed and kept providing suggestions of places to go, which uncovered a couple of hidden gems we hadn't considered ourselves.

All in, we can't speak highly enough of our experience at the Roundhouse and have been recommending it to friends and family the moment we returned!

A Little Corner of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

An absolutely stunning cottage in a secluded and enclosed beautifully landscaped garden. The Roundhouse is furnished, decorated and equipped to the highest standard and has a real wow factor from the minute you step inside. I really can't think of anything that is not provided. Helen & Rory, the hosts, are welcoming and friendly - our little dog was also made welcome. Very highly recommended - great place for couples, families or ideal for honeymoons ! Planning to return soon.

5* stay, total relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway. Could not fault the cottage, very friendly welcome. We were overwhelmed by the standard of the cottage for what we had payed. Lovely country cottage feel with a modern touch. Loved the wood burning stove on a cold night! The garden was very peaceful. Lots of lovely countryside at the door step and Central to lots of nice places to visit. Although we did not have the weather we hoped for it did not matter because we enjoyed spending some time in such a nice cosy cottage and beautiful gardens. Would highly recommend. So much to do, for anyone needing a gluten free diet there was plently of choice in the local town of Bude - the shack, pizza restaurant and many of the local pubs. We hope to visit again!

Lovely little spot!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from Little Barn and we had a wonderful time. Helen and Rory we perfect hosts & the cottage had everything we could possibly need. It's in a beautiful quiet spot, a car is needed as its a 15 minute drive to most of the beaches and moors. They are beautiful when you get there though and we had an amazing week.
