We love this house having stayed before here it's always very nice and clean .

This house has everything in it even tea bags and coffee. There's are some great walks just around the corner in the countryside and a twenty minutes walk into Aviemore. We will be back.

Comfortable spacious house

Our family stayed at Hector's house for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary. The house had everything we required for a comfortable family stay. It was spotlessly clean and well presented.

We were surprised how much bigger the house was inside than it looked from the outside. The entrance hall is very spacious and ample room for removing wet and dirty outdoor clothing.

I would certainly recommend this house for a family gathering. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Although we didn't actually meet the owners, but they were quick to respond to our enquiries by email.

Home from home for a large family in Aviemore

A very comfortable and spotlessly clean well equipped holiday home in a quiet location on the edge of Aviemore. Exactly as discribed. Close to so many great places to go and have fun from archery to kayaking to mountain walking and clay pigeon shooting. My family tried to do most of the things on offer in the area. A great place to come in the summer as we don't do winter sports. It was also an easy drive to Loch Ness and had a great local brewery tour/ generous tasting visit which we could walk to. Hectors house would be an ideal holiday home for any family with a downstairs bedroom and some games and DVDs to suit everyone. The local restaurants were very busy but as a group of 7 we managed to book at the Italian a couple of times. There are Indian Chinese or chip shop take aways quite nearby. Also the local co op was walking distance for groceries. The owners were very prompt and easy to deal with. If you want to visit Aviemore in the summer we would recommend Hector's house.

Hector's House

We had a very enjoyable week at Hector's House, which was exactly as described, clean and well maintained. The directions were easy to follow and the owner had provided plenty of information about local amenities and contact details, as well as lots of toys, books, games and DVDs for rainy days. With three small children visits to the Highland Wildlife Park, the Landmark Centre, the Reindeer House, Cyril Squirrel's Funhouse as well as walks around Loch Morlich were very successful. We found the local restaurants welcomed small children and served good food. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to friends.

Beautiful house in peaceful surroundings

A beautiful, modern home tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac with ample facilities and space. Liaising with the house owners in organising our long weekend was easy and a pleasure. They were very obliging and even helped us to organise a hot tub and a late check out without any issues!

I would thoroughly recommend Hectors House as a perfect holiday get away, as a welcoming home away from home. Can't wait to get the opportunity to stay there again!

Great house for a family break or longer stay

Stayed for weekend with family to celebrate my wifes birthday. Hectors House could not have been better. 7 adults in all and we had a very enjoyable and comfortable weekend.

House had lots of space and excellent well equipped kitchen with lots of utensils which allowed us to cook "at home" both nights. House was warm and had bonus of a log fire burner. Very comfy beds for a great nights sleep. We are all already talking about doing it again next year. Would certainly recommend and will book again.

Set in the Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore is an ideal base for both relaxing and adventure activities. Great dog walking on the doorstep. Plenty of facilities for the whole family including local swimming pools, soft play, crazy golf, waterslides and roller coaster in forest setting at Landmark Centre (Spring and Summer only). The area offers a range of activities including Mountain biking for all abilities on both purpose built courses and abundant local tracks, kayaking and rafting on the River Spey, windsurfing on Loch Morlich and Loch Insch, skiing on and off piste, hillwalking.


Loch Morlich offers a beautiful and spacious sandy beach set in pinewood location with breathtaking views of Cairngorm Mountain at freshwater Loch Morlich. It is easily accessible by a 10 minute drive or, for the more adventurous, a cycle on one of the forest tracks (1 - 1.5 hours). There is a boathouse on the beach which offers light refreshment and kayak/windsurf hire.


Aviemore is easily accessible by road, rail and air. By road the village is 2.5-3 hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh, and enjoys a regular rail service. Inverness Airport is located 40 miles to the North and can be accessed by an easy drive.

We may be able to accommodate short breaks during busy periods depending on other bookings. We can be flexible with arrival and departure dates, dependant on other bookings. Normal arrival time is 4pm and departure time 10am. An early arrival or late departure may be possible and would cost £25 if available
