Excellent holiday home in aviemore close to all amenities!!

We stayed for October break in this lovely home . Plenty of space for our large family with an added gran and grandpa. Lots of entertainment in the house so everyone happy on the dreach days. Very comfortable home with everything you could wish for.

Nothing too much for the owners !

Very warm, welcoming, spacious and immaculate

We shared the property with our friends and children and there was lots of room for us all to relax and sleep in comfort. Everything you need in a home away from home is here and the hot tub is fab! All our communication with the owners was friendly and very helpful and we would return to this property and recommend it to friends.

We loved our stay - lots of room, great central Highland location, and the hosts have just about everything you can think of on hand, especially for babies (we forgot to bring a few things, so this was a lifesaver). House is clean, bright and modern - a perfect base for touring the Highlands.

Great house, garden and location !!

We had a brilliant holiday in Aviemore last week, the weather was great and the house was just perfect for us! There were 7 people and 2 dogs and we had plenty of space didn't feel in each other's way in the slightest. Loved the location and the layout of both the house and garden it really was ideal for our family holiday. Avril and Julia were also a pleasure to deal with before and during our visit. We will hopefully be back for another holiday some day!

Very comfortable clean property

The two of us spent a week at Hectors House in June with our 3 pointers after the owners kindly agreed that they could come with us. The house is in a quiet location on the outskirts of town yet still near enough to all the facilities. The back garden is fully enclosed with a 6ft wooden fence so safe for the dogs and the house has all the facilities you need for a self catering holiday. The two double beds were the most comfortable that we have ever found in a rental property and having a TV in the dinning room/kitchen is always a bonus. The only drawback and this has nothing to do with the property is that we found Aviemore is not the most dog friendly place in Scotland with a lot of walks being dogs on lead and a lot of eating places not allowing dogs. With Sky TV lots of books maps dvds and computer games there is a lot to do on a cold wet day. Would we return yes if we are ever staying in the area again and the owners are happy for us to return.

Special interest holidays:

Set in the Cairngorms National Park, Aviemore is an ideal base for both relaxing and adventure activities. Great dog walking on the doorstep. Plenty of facilities for the whole family including local swimming pools, soft play, crazy golf, waterslides and roller coaster in forest setting at Landmark Centre (Spring and Summer only). The area offers a range of activities including Mountain biking for all abilities on both purpose built courses and abundant local tracks, kayaking and rafting on the River Spey, windsurfing on Loch Morlich and Loch Insch, skiing on and off piste, hillwalking.

Coast/Beach:

Loch Morlich offers a beautiful and spacious sandy beach set in pinewood location with breathtaking views of Cairngorm Mountain at freshwater Loch Morlich. It is easily accessible by a 10 minute drive or, for the more adventurous, a cycle on one of the forest tracks (1 - 1.5 hours). There is a boathouse on the beach which offers light refreshment and kayak/windsurf hire.

Travel:

Aviemore is easily accessible by road, rail and air. By road the village is 2.5-3 hours from Glasgow and Edinburgh, and enjoys a regular rail service. Inverness Airport is located 40 miles to the North and can be accessed by an easy drive.

Distances:

Aviemore - 1 mile. Carbridge 7 miles. Inverness - 30 miles.

Notes on prices:
A hot tub is available as an optional extra. The cost is £225 per week and £150 for a weekend or short stay of up to 3 days. There is £25 charge for bringing your dogs. We allow up to 2 dogs (please advise us at the time of enquiring). We offer full weeks, multiple weeks and short breaks of more than 2 nights. We may be able to accommodate short breaks during busy periods depending on other bookings. We can be flexible with arrival and departure dates, dependant on other bookings. Normal arrival time is 4pm and departure time 10am. An early arrival or late departure may be possible and would cost £25 if available
