Overview

Property

Updated: 06-Dec-2016
Apartment in Port Pendennis Marina, Falmouth, Cornwall, England - Top Floor Apartment In Exclusive Marina Village. Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk To Beach.

With a sunny aspect & views over the inner marina & out towards Falmouth harbour & Flushing, The Moorings top floor apartment in Port Pendennis occupies what is probably the one of best positions in this exclusive gated waterside village. Indeed, it was a show-apartment for the village during it’s creation by Peter de Savary some 20 years ago. Modelled on Port Grimaud near St. Tropez in the south of France, Port Pendennis is set on Falmouth’s historic water front besides the world’s third largest natural harbour & comprises elegant town houses & apartments centred around an inner yacht marina, & is the only development of its type in Cornwall. The Moorings is within easy walking distance to Falmouth town, it's shops, bars & restaurants as well as Falmouth harbour, Castle & Gyllyngvase beaches. Just outside Port Pendennis Village Marina is Events Square/Discovery Quay which is home to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Pendennis Castle is a short walk & at the point you can see St Anthony Lighthouse, St Mawes & the Lizard.

Annual events on the Falmouth calendar consist of Falmouth Spring Festival (12th-29th March), Folk and Cider Fayre (28th-29th March), the seventh Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival (29th April-4th May), Fal

River Festival (22nd-31st May), Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival and Falmouth Classics (12th-14th June), the new ZestiFAL (25th July-5th August), Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week (7th-16th August), Splash (19th - 27th September), Falmouth Oyster Festival (8th-16th October) and Falmouth Beer Festival (20th-23rd October).

About the Owner

A family friend once said to me that I'd fall in love in Falmouth and I did - with Falmouth and the man who is now my husband! That was thirteen years ago and we now have a young family which keeps me very busy.

The Moorings was our own home for many years, and we only moved out a few years ago due to a growing family. Still living in this wonderful town, we are close at hand should you need any help or advice.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The apartment was by far the nicest we have stayed in, in Falmouth and had everything we needed. The location is brilliant with the Maritime Museum, shops and cafes and restaurants just a stones throw away. However, the apartment is still very quiet and restful.

The only problem we encountered was the wi-fi did not work but Verity was nearby and available to help with any issues. The duvet in the master bedroom was brilliant though (I want one!). Our little boy was very happy in his own room and we appreciated the travel cot and high chair.

Thanks to Verity for all the assistance and advice. It was brilliant to know we could contact someone nearby if there was a problem. The recommendation about the kids session at the Maritime Museum was a winner! The bottle of wine in the fridge was a lovely surprise too.

We hope to rebook for later in the year!

Perfectly located apartment

  • 5 of 5

We loved Verity's apartment. The location was perfect- minutes away from the bustle of Events Square and the town centre, but so quiet once you get through the Port Pendennis gates. The apartment is equipped with everything you could need and beautifully furnished and decorated. The view from our bedroom window was a delight to wake up to each morning. The welcome pack was very indulgent and very lovely! Verity was great at answering questions about the local area before we arrived. We shall definitely stay here again when we visit Falmouth and would recommend it to anyone else.

The Moorings - a peaceful home from home

  • 5 of 5

The Moorings apartment was our home from home in Falmouth. The facilities were ideal for a relaxed family holiday (I stayed with my husband, parents and 9 week old son). The apartment is nicely furnished and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The lift to gain access to the 2nd floor apartment was ideal for getting the pushchair in and out after long walks around Falmouth. Verity (the owner) also kindly provided a travel cot for our stay - plus she got in touch when we arrived to ensure we had everything we needed. Another lovely touch was the fresh flowers, champagne, and cream tea in the apartment for our arrival; add to that multiple glossy magazines around the apartment which set this holiday let aside from many others.

The exclusive complex where the apartment is located is peaceful and well kept, within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Falmouth, plus coastal walks and Pendennis Castle. We were lucky enough to be staying on a weekend when Jools Holland and UB40 were playing outdoor concerts at the Maritime Museum, so were able to listen to the entertainment from the apartment.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others and hope to be able to return when my son is a little older so we can enjoy the beautiful beaches in the area.

Holiday at The Moorings

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a lovely week at The Moorings, flat was beautifully clean, comfortable, well equipped and close to the town and beaches. We were welcomed on arrival by scones, jam and clotted cream, flowers on the table and champagne in the fridge - a lovely touch and much appreciated. Verity was very helpful from start to finish. Really enjoyed our stay and the weather behaved itself despite the forecast! Can recommend a visit to Pendennis Castle, the coast walk to Swanpool Beach and the ferry trip to St Mawes. Would be very happy to recommend to others, a great place to stay!

Perfect accommodation for exploring Falmouth!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with my husband and two boys. The apartment was perfect. Lovely and clean and really spacious. Only a couple of minutes walk to the shops and the beach is easy to get to as well. We loved our holiday here and would definitely recommend it. If we decide to go to Falmouth again, this will be the first place I check for availability!

We want Moore!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for providing a comfortable and well appointed place for us to relax and have a great break. We stayed with another couple and our 2yr old daughter, all enjoying the grounds and the position (walk into town with ease). We visit Falmouth most years for a weeks Summer break and will in the future definitely look up 'The Moorings' availability first.
