Overview

About the property

Apartment in Port Pendennis Marina, Falmouth, Cornwall, England - Top Floor Apartment In Exclusive Marina Village. Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk To Beach.

With a sunny aspect & views over the inner marina & out towards Falmouth harbour & Flushing, The Moorings top floor apartment in Port Pendennis occupies what is probably the one of best positions in this exclusive gated waterside village. Indeed, it was a show-apartment for the village during it’s creation by Peter de Savary some 20 years ago. Modelled on Port Grimaud near St. Tropez in the south of France, Port Pendennis is set on Falmouth’s historic water front besides the world’s third largest natural harbour & comprises elegant town houses & apartments centred around an inner yacht marina, & is the only development of its type in Cornwall. The Moorings is within easy walking distance to Falmouth town, it's shops, bars & restaurants as well as Falmouth harbour, Castle & Gyllyngvase beaches. Just outside Port Pendennis Village Marina is Events Square/Discovery Quay which is home to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Pendennis Castle is a short walk & at the point you can see St Anthony Lighthouse, St Mawes & the Lizard.

Annual events on the Falmouth calendar consist of Falmouth Spring Festival (12th-29th March), Folk and Cider Fayre (28th-29th March), the seventh Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival (29th April-4th May), Fal

River Festival (22nd-31st May), Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival and Falmouth Classics (12th-14th June), the new ZestiFAL (25th July-5th August), Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week (7th-16th August), Splash (19th - 27th September), Falmouth Oyster Festival (8th-16th October) and Falmouth Beer Festival (20th-23rd October).

About Verity Cunliffe

A family friend once said to me that I'd fall in love in Falmouth and I did - with Falmouth and the man who is now my husband! That was thirteen years ago and we now have a young family which keeps me very busy.

The Moorings was our own home for many years, and we only moved out a few years ago due to a growing family. Still living in this wonderful town, we are close at hand should you need any help or advice.

Verity Cunliffe purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Verity Cunliffe chose Falmouth

It's so centrally located and yet so peaceful.

What makes this apartment unique

Port Pendennis is such a handy location for all that Falmouth has to offer - the town, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, the beaches of Gyllyngvase and Castle as well as landmarks like Pendennis Castle, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Falmouth Harbour itself.

Port Pendennis is all on the same level with town so make it accessible for all ages. It is a tranquil environment yet just outside the gates, you are in the middle of the buzz of Falmouth.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The apartment was by far the nicest we have stayed in, in Falmouth and had everything we needed. The location is brilliant with the Maritime Museum, shops and cafes and restaurants just a stones throw away. However, the apartment is still very quiet and restful.

The only problem we encountered was the wi-fi did not work but Verity was nearby and available to help with any issues. The duvet in the master bedroom was brilliant though (I want one!). Our little boy was very happy in his own room and we appreciated the travel cot and high chair.

Thanks to Verity for all the assistance and advice. It was brilliant to know we could contact someone nearby if there was a problem. The recommendation about the kids session at the Maritime Museum was a winner! The bottle of wine in the fridge was a lovely surprise too.

We hope to rebook for later in the year!

Best ever in Falmouth

  • 5 of 5

This year we toured around the area more than usual including trips to St Ives, Porthcurno, Trellisick, St Mawes, St Just in Roseland and Mousehole. Falmouth is an excellent centre to stay and this flat is well located and very accessible for a disabled person except for one step into the front entrance to the small block of flats. Car parking is easy with plenty of room for a large car. The property is well fitted and has all essential amenities and the owner and her family live locally and made us very welcome.

Fabulous apartment in lovely, quiet location short distance from the high street

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and in a wonderful location within walking distance of the beach, the railway station and the High Street - perfect. Everything we needed was available and the arrangements for picking-up and dropping-off the keys were perfect. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Absolutely, Positively, Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in some great properties with HomeAway, but this one was particularly outstanding. The flat was outfitted beautifully, I was very comfortable, it is one of those properties that you could live in long term and enjoy.

Location is very important to me, since I do not rent a vehicle when I visit Cornwall. There are all the things you need within a short walking distance including food stores, a great bakery, shops and restaurants. The water ferry services are close by and if walking sections of the Coast Path, you are virtually on it. Also the train station is just a couple short blocks away.

Pendennis Castle is an easy walk and on the way is a spectacular overlook of the Dockyards. And the Nat'l Maritime Museum - Cornwall, is within a couple hundred meters of the flat.

With all the activity around you, the flat and the gated neighborhood where it is located is very quiet and beautifully maintained. Falmouth for a small city is very friendly!

I intend to return here in the not too distant future!
