A gem of a cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cottage. Spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee, sugar & plenty of loo roll supplied - meaning no frantic shopping required on arrival. (Although the farm shop is very handy!)

We visited for a week - me, my husband and our two daughters (aged 7 and 3).

It's a great base from which to explore the delights of Dorset.

The children loved having the goats next door!

We even visited Peppa Pig World (book tickets in advance, they're cheaper), it's near Southampton (about an hour away).

There are lovely beaches (Knoll beach is a lovely sandy beach, Lulworth Cove is beautiful but all pebbles) within easy reach, a steam train from Norden to Swanage and Corfe Castle is worth a trip too.

We had a slight that problem with hot water (probably our fault!) the owner dealt with it immediately and all was fine when we returned from our day out.

We had a great week and would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

This wonderful cottage is far lovlier than its website suggests. Took my daughter, 1 and 3 year old grandsons for a 3 night seaside break to Corfe, which I know from my childhood holidays. Just lovely, light bright clean and spacious, owners next door very helpful. Don't be put off by fact this is in campsite, you are secluded, peaceful and the animals walks and setting only added to the fun. Knoll beach at Studland, top marks for free hire of sand buggies. Half Way Inn, less than a mile towards Wareham, excellent pub food. Steam train well worth it. We saw a bride getting on, and it was Thomas the Tank come to life for a three year old, or should I say Percy.

Path to Corfe good for two feet but not four wheels. Hope to return for a grown up stay, the walking, train and local bus means you could have a car free break here.

Just lovely.

Amazing cottage in an exceptional setting. Everything you need on site and privacy too. Perfectly equipped and plenty of space. Very well thought out. Great location to get everywhere in Dorset and see the sights. I would highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage

  • 4 of 5

We stayed over half term for 4 nights at a very good rate and loved our stay, as did our 4 and 6 year old daughters. We stayed in the cottage whereas most accommodation is in what was an empty camp site. The emptiness was no problem and everyone we spoke to on the farm was really friendly. They encourage visitors to go and look at the animals and the site of beautiful peacocks and young cows is always lovely to see. There's an excellent little shop at the farm which is well stocked and it seems used regularly by locals. The cottage itself was very well equipped, warm and for us essentially dog friendly.

The water pressure upstairs is poor in the bath so a tip is to use the shower to fill up the bath as there's clearly an excellent pump and it fills up in no time.

Thanks for a truly lovely stay, and we hope to return again.
