Wonderful Character cottage in superb location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage ticks every box, Spacious, feel good, immaculately clean, a home from home. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a lovely one. It has a large garden which was great for our 2 border collies to play in, very secure and parking for at least 3 cars, great if like us you have some friends visit you during your stay. The weather was great and we loved the picturesque village of Sutton which is a great village for shops, tea rooms and lovely restaurants. A few minutes drive takes you to Mablethorpe or Skegness and we loved the giant indoor and outdoor markets at Ingoldmells. All in all a superb holiday and will be rebooking for sure. Thank you

Sunshine Cottage Sutton on Sea

  • 3 of 5

The bungalow was reasonably clean and comfortable, could do with updating during the winter. The bathroom particularly is looking very tired.

The garden was supposed to be dog friendly and secure but we found this was not the case for our Cairnoodle. He is not a big dog and could have got out under the gate. We placed the dustbins behind the gates and put a garden chair at the end of the fencing round the pond.

On receiving details prior to our holiday we were shocked to see we had to pay extra for gas and electricity. We have been taking this type of holiday for forty years and have not been charged extra like this since the eighties, nor have we been charged extra for wifi as we were on this holiday. Considering we paid almost £600 for the week we thought the charge penny pinching.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, I must say that we have never had any pet escapee's from Sunshine Cottage as we do pride ourselves on being a Pet Friendly holiday home, So i am extremely surprised at your comments, but as always , i will look into this situation immediately. With regard to the electricity charge, You were made fully aware of this in your pre arrival information pack 8 weeks before your arrival and you will have read that we find this a far better way, so that guests dont pay for others electricity as some guests like to eat out , while others wish to cook at the cottage and therefore we can keep our rental charges very competitive, the alternative is to add another £50 to the total rental charge, which is unfair to those who wish to dine out and the same option is there for the WiFi too, some want to use the connection while others don't, so if you do, there's a small charge. So if you had any reservations whatsoever, you should have brought your issues to our attention long before your arrival as this is the very first time anyone has ever mentioned it! I hope this has cleared up the issues you have and anyone reading this can look at the last 5 x 5 star reviews we've recently received for a more positive outlook on Sunshine Cottage. Please also note that August 2017 is now fully Booked!

Nice cottage good location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at sunshine cottage mid July and found it to be very comfortable. Only a very short walk to the beach and to town with a nice secluded garden perfect for our Labrador. The pond was very nice and it was like home from home as we have fish of our own.

There was fresh milk in the fridge when we arrived so we could have a cup of tea straight away.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Lovely

  • 5 of 5

I went with my mom and 2 dogs and found the cottage very lovely. It was exceptionally clean with flowers and milk waiting for us which I thought was a nice touch after a long journey and the garden was amazing. It is situated in a nice road with a few minutes walk to an amazing beach perfect for dogs to run at their hearts content and the people we met were warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this cottage I wouldn't book any other one as I hope to return to this place again. I go away with lovely memories thank you Carl the owner for making it easy every step from booking to arriving for a lovely holiday was perfect.

Location

From the Owner

Being a Pet owner myself, I was always disappointed at the lack of homes available that welcome pets, So when i purchased this lovely cottage, I wanted to make sure that other pet owners would have the pleasure in being able to bring their best friends with them too. Sutton on Sea is such a nice, clean and relaxed seaside village and this particular home looked so lovely in the sun when i passed it one day, with a welcoming sunny garden, its cute little fishpond, it had everything i was looking for in a "Get away from it all" home. A Lovely peaceful location just minutes from the sea, a short stroll to the village shops & restaurants, this home has it all and has proven extremely popular with my wonderful guests & their little friends returning year after year.
