About Michael and Linda Disney

We are semi retired (well probably quarter retired if we are honest!) ex nursery owners who have a real passion for gardening and helping people make the most of our stunning home county of Devon. We have also been farmers in the past and it this love of open spaces that prompted us to buy Olde Barn Gardens, the location is everything! When we aren't growing the plants that surround the cottage we are enjoying time with our family and watching our 3 wonderful grandchildren grow up quickly!

Michael and Linda Disney purchased this cottage in 1993

Why Michael and Linda Disney chose Teignbridge

It's simply stunning, we can see Mamhead House from the back of the property as well as Haldon Forest Park. It had everything we wanted and we love it here so much we converted the barn next door which is now our home!

What makes this cottage unique

Without a doubt the one thing we offer that other properties don't is the stunning plants that surround the cottage. The front of the house is strewn with hanging baskets and the secluded rear garden is a haven to relax in.

Best in the West

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you arrive and meet your hosts Michael and Linda you feel at home. What a wonderfully welcoming couple who go out of their way to make your stay so enjoyable, the cake and biscuits were delicious as always. The views from the bedroom and balcony are amazing, we spent many a happy hour watching the deer with her baby and the swallows who were nesting in the eves feeding their young. We were so lucky to have had the best weather of the year so far and ate outside in the "Love Shack" at the bottom of the garden every evening. This is the most well equipped clean and comfortable cottage we have ever stayed in.

The attention to detail is second to none and we haven't even mentioned the beautiful flowers that make this cottage so very attractive. The fresh strawberries from Mike and Linda's garden were an extra treat and very much appreciated. We are already looking forward to returning in April, unfortunately for us they were already booked for this September or we would have been back sooner to this very special place.

Owner's Response: To dear Julie and Pete, It was so lovely to welcome you both to Olde Barn Gardens recently, and it was great to have Russell, and Choe for those couple of days , it's really lovely getting to know your family. The weather was really perfect for you and we were glad you were able to enjoy the Love Shack, and the barbeques in the evening. We enjoyed sharing we wee toddy with you on Thrusday evening , and marvel at the sight of the House martin joining us in the Love Shack at dusk. Well looking forward to when you come again. The accommodation was superb, everything was made so easy for those staying.

Lots of little extras that you would have to go out and buy with most rented accommodation.

Perfect location for seeing the surrounding area. We have an 8 month old baby and the cottage was fully equipped with everything a baby would need which took the stress out of packing. We had a most enjoyable stay in one of the best holiday cottages we had ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean. The owners were absolutely lovely. Fresh baked cake and biscuits on arrival is another lovely touch, as was an overflowing bowl of fresh fruit.

Amazing. Immaculate. Beautiful. Definitely Reccommend

  • 5 of 5

Wow, where to start.

Michael and Linda are a lovely couple and were helpful and quick to respond to emails right from the start. Met us on arrival and showed us around the property personally. Linda had even made a cake ready for us that tasted amazing.

The house was absolutely immaculate, cleaned and tidied to perfection.

Everything in its right place and everything and anything you could possibly need was already thought of and provided for you.

The Master bedroom has to be the highlight.

A huge room that had lovely views across the fields.

Each night we would use the master room as the living room and sit in the comfy recliner chairs provided and watch the beautiful sunsets and listen to the birds singing.

We liked it so much we asked if we could stay on an extra night and they were happy to oblige.

I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone wishing to visit this area.

I certainly hope to go back again at some point with more family members.

Full marks to Linda and Michael the holiday cottage owners who put so much effort and care into making the place so spotlessly clean and welcoming. I can't praise them enough.
