You will love this light and airy villa. There is an unheated, 7m x 3m swimming pool, two terraces with a BBQ in a garden with palms and olive trees. Wonderful country walks on othe doorstep. An ideal place for a quiet and relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring the regions historical and wine growing areas. It is a 10 minute walk to the village with bars/cafes, 2 restaurants, 2 boulangeries, butcher, banks and supermarket, plus a market 3 days a week. A new aquatic centre with a 25m pool opened in 2014.

We have had holidays all over France for over 20 years and when the opportunity arose we decided to buy in the Minervois. This is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday with countryside and beaches and 300 days of sunshine. There are plenty of historical sites to visit and the people are very friendly.

Coast/Beach:

It is an hours drive to the Mediterranean beaches. Narbonne Plage is a traditional French sea side resort with a magnificent clean and safe beach with a promenade and a wide range of restaurants and bars. Gruissan is an old fishing village with a modern marina and separate beach. In Carcassonne there is the man made beach at Lac Cavayere which also has a range of activities. A new aquatic centre with a heated indoor and outdoor pools is now open in the village.

Travel:

Nearest airports; Carcassonne (29km) Beziers (77km) Perpignan (128km) Toulouse (128km.) with direct flights from UK and Ireland. 6/7 hours drive from Santander/Bilbao. 11 hours from Calais and 10 hours from Caen and Roscoff ferry ports.

Distances:

There are many historical sites nearby; Cite de Carcassonne, Minerve, Cathars castles, Lagrasse, caves and great walks in the montagne noire, an hour to the Mediterranean beaches . For wine tasting there is a village cooperative and chateau and lots of other vineyards around, some can be visited without the need to use a car! Spain is less than 2 hours away. Canoeing on the river Aude is available 15 minutes drive away. Guided boat trips on the Canal du Midi are 20 minutes away.

Prices shown for the property are per week in UK pounds, payment in Euros is also possible.£330 deposit on booking 50% of rental 8weeks before arrival with the balance payable 4 weeks before start of holiday. The deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure subject to satisfactory property inspection.

Outside: The villa sits within private walled gravel gardens planted with olive trees, palms and shrubs. There is a large south facing terrace partly shaded with loungers, table and chairs for relaxing. There is a separate covered terrace for dining with table and chairs and a BBQ. The unheated pool (7m x 3m) is in full sunshine all day with access up steps. There is off road parking for cars in front of the villa. Utility Room: Washing Machine in garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and bathroom towels provided. Property is serviced before your arrival, additional cleaning can be arranged at extra cost.
