About the Owner

We are the proud owners of Villa Pelegia. We bought the property in 2005 and have enjoyed many many holidays with our children who are almost grown up. Our eldest being at Leeds Uni and youngest doing her A Levels. We have rented the villa though Thomas Cook for the past seven years, but decided we would like to spend more time in our Villa. We fell in love with this most wonderful part of Kefalonia and love returning time and time again. It is the perfect antidote to our busy lives running our own business.

Beautiful Villa in fantastic location.

  • 5 of 5

What can I say - beautiful Villa in a wonderful location with Spectacular views. We arrived late afternoon after the journey from the airport and were able to make use of the patio immediately in the early evening sun. The Villa was very clean and welcoming and there were plenty of towels both for the bathroom and pool area. All the rooms were large but we chose the master bedroom with the balcony where we could sit and have our coffee in the mornings while looking out at the scenery and listening to the goat bells - pure bliss. Debbie had arranged for everything to be on hand with information about the area and helpful tips. There were even video's and magazines provided - Thanks really enjoyed a couple of the films. The Villa itself was well equipped, charming and very homely which we loved. The locals were all very friendly and the pool man came every few days to clean the pool. As I have read in previous reviews we too were visited by the local cats but they weren't a problem in fact we looked forward to them meeting us at the door. We took the car around to different beaches and to explore the island but also walked (book on walks in Villa) to a idyllic beach along the coast. The villa is in a excellent position just far enough out of Fiskardo to be peaceful but near enough for all the amenities. Would highly recommend the Lord Falcon Thai restaurant well worth a visit (or two) and Elli's but the harbour is lined with restaurants equally good. For a great day out hire a boat in Fiskardo, take a picnic and explore - great for snorkelling. I would definitely recommend this Villa and Kefalonia and will return. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful Villa.

Perfectly appointed villa with spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for us, with a lovely pool/patio area , comfortable beds and large windows facing out onto the most beautiful view. We enjoyed our evenings in Fiscardo where you can have supper watching the harbour and boats. We also hired a small boat from Regina and explored the little bays. I would definitely recommend this villa to friends and family.

Our first villa holiday ...a great success !!

  • 5 of 5

I meant to write a review on my return home after our magical Fiskardo holiday but didn't. Its only now when I come to make another booking that I feel compelled to tap away my review.

It was the first Villa type holiday my husband and I have done and we were some what skeptical. However everything surpassed our expectations.

We arrived at the villa to a welcome pack that was exactly what we asked for and we were a bit fussy ( isn't everyone when they are on their hard earned holiday ?) Debbie was extremely accommodating for the unusual requests. Thank you.

The Villa was beautifully clean and had plenty of towels for pool side and bathroom. We never saw the cleaners /pool man but we knew they had been. The beds were large and comfortable, the air conditioning efficient and the wifi worked well even by the pool side. The kitchen was well equipped. Yes we had visiting cats but that is normal for that Island we even had cats coming to the table when we in the harbour at Fiskardo. They soon got the message from my non cat loving husband!

The owner suggested a number of places to go which were magical and while a car was essential for the villa location it was not a chore to go and explore and well worth it. A number of evenings we found ourselves driving to the Harbour at Fiskardo and having a few drinks then getting a 10 euro taxi back. This worked well as we then would have a gentle 20 minute down hill walk to the car the next morning and pick up a few provisions ( I was glad it was down hill and cool first thing in the morning.).

We thought the Villa location perfect not in the busy throng of the harbour, charming views and yes it had neighbours but they did not interfere one tiny bit to our trip.

The whole trip has changed our view on villa holidays and would most definitely re book....in fact that's why I am back on the website !

Please can we book in next year.

If I had to say one negative thing, I would say you could change the mirror in the downstairs bathroom i found the frosting in it made it difficult to use it... so used the bedroom mirror but that comes back to being fussy on our hard earned holiday time !

Thank you very much for completely changing our perception of staying in a villa and please can we come back again.

Good villa, but tired, lot minor issues.

  • 3 of 5

Used OD (Owners Direct) lots times many countries including other villa Cephalonia 2013

Good villa but ‘tired’ many minor issues a few hundred & little time needed

GOOD size & clean bit tight for 6 Good Wi Fi Fiskardo & tiny beaches close Car ESSENTIAL

NOT SO GOOD Booked & paid in Feb for July While staying OD website cost now 800 less fortnight contacted owner asking for comments 7 weeks later no reply!

No info rubbish disposal, potable water, shops etc Cleaner & sheet/towel exchanged twice in fortnight OD map villa on Fiskardo boundary BUT in village couple miles away Foki beach (nearest) tiny (nice) packed by midday little parking very hot walk down oppressive uphill return

Sun lounger & chair cushions stained & couple cigarette burns One parasol ‘spokes’ through material Some rattan furniture rotted Pool shallow end 4’ deep then drops big issue small children One pool ‘access panel’ cracked, careful Plant pots cigarette ends Upstairs balcony no privacy 4 external lights not working

TV receives only DVD player no cables for HDMI, SCART, COAX satellite dish no sign All bedrooms & living area one light each not working Ironing board cover & sponge thin leaves diamonds on clothing sponge layer disintegrating iron some wet patches No pegs Washing machine door doesn’t close well careful to get machine to work Fridge door top magnet strip coming off careful or water on floor Living area no air con (bedrooms only) patio door shutters VERY stiff Few small areas paint peeling Cool box handle broken Upstairs shower no shelf Downstairs shower accessory cage rusty left rust marks on floor mirror visible adhesive blobs & border on way out Kitchen cupboards smell, handle missing, crammed little space for food, drawer crammed plastic cutlery handles loose, scissor blades rusty pans ‘cheap’ food sticks, sink plug too small, no plate drainer, electrical socket near kettle loose kitchen light dim

Wasp nest maybe in stone wall near door below pool - locals have deterrent methods 10 latest booking out 08:30 cleaners arrived while trying to pack, shower, eat

Comments in guest book mostly weather, beaches, tavernas, not villa, Aug 2012 first negative then only “needs TLC” – others satisfied, too embarrassed to write, we’re too fussy? Seen what others do for customers Owners stayed before us, they should have checked/fixed all, these have not suddenly appeared

Need ‘insect netting’ doors/windows seen before including Cephalonia

Re-visit? If all issues resolved - not 178 night

Owner's Response: Thank you for listing so precisely item's that need attention. I will make sure these are carried out before the start of out next season in May 2017. On the issue of the rate change. I had one week in August to fill at short notice, so reduced the price for that week only as we still have costs to meet whether someone stays or not. I did reply to your email, I'm sorry you didn't get that. We had to change our Agent half way though the season, so I'm sorry that the Villa sheet, towel and cleaning service wasn't satisfactory. I will be looking into that immediately.

A little piece of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Kefalonia and we were not disappointed. The Villa was exactly as described on the website. In fact I would say it was better! It is perfectly situated with views that are absolutely stunning, nestled in a quiet village with great access to beautiful local beaches and restaurants. This was the perfect holiday retreat to unwind, relax, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the local feta and olives by the beautiful pool! Do use the villa's guide notes, we found them invaluable and visited most of the places recommended by the owners and other people who have stayed at the villa.

We did experience a problem with the wifi but with one quick call to the owner, her maintenance team were at the property within the hour, only to advise that it was actually my fault!!! The villa is very well equipped with plenty of space to lose yourself if you fancy. The beds are very comfortable and the villa is extremely clean and modern, the gardens surrounding it are mature, well stocked and kept tidy by the efficient maintenance team.

I would highly recommend this villa if you want a get away from it all type of holiday. In fact, I have re-booked to visit again this September.

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Villa Pelagia was truly memorable for all the right reasons so much so we have rebooked for 2015. The villa is spacious, well equipped comfortable and clean. The pool is perfect with plenty of loungers, tables and seating.

The views are breathtaking, such a peaceful relaxing holiday but a whole island to explore and discover. We have friends that have returned 15 times!

Having been here we can understand why, very excited about coming back.
