Beautifully appointed gite. Very comfortable, quiet and unique.

  • 5 of 5

Michèle and Steve were the perfect hosts. Very friendly, accommodating and considerate. As the weather was cool the wood fire was very cosy and warm. The welcome bottle of wine was equally appreciated. Steve has clearly spent a great deal of his artisan efforts getting the gite to the gorgeous state of accomodation it is now. Michèle was very eager to help with the many questions we had regarding local interests. Highly recommend this lovely secluded piece of paradise.

Beautifully restored barn with stunning views across the valley.

A very well equipped and roomy gite - a perfect retreat, and the pool was a welcome relief from the heat! Michele and Steve were great hosts, very helpful but never intrusive. There are a number of pretty hill-top villages in the area and Castelnau Montratier has two local markets and a friendly restaurant on the square. We had a lovely week relaxing at this wonderful gite.

Comfortable, Cosy, Immaculate Gite!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday here. The gite is immaculate - spotlessly clean, well furnished and with a well equipped kitchen. The facilities here are great, and that includes the wonderful salt-water pool with fantastic views of the countryside. Michele and Steve are such lovely, accommodating hosts! The village of Castelnau-Montratier is just a short drive away and has everything you need for your stay here: a small supermarket for provisions, a bank and cash-points, tabac/newsagent, boulangerie, restaurants/bars, a pharmacy, and a church; It also has a Tourist Information where we got some useful information about the whole region. It is such a pretty place and the people are friendly. The Lot region is beautiful and is blessed with many vineyards and fields of sunflowers, and there are historic towns and villages all over.

After a busy year, we needed peace and relaxation, and that's what we got, and in a picturesque setting. We very much intend to return. Glynn and Linda

Owner's Response: Linda and Glynn were perfect guests. They were really friendly, easy going with a great sense of humour. We always enjoyed chatting to them in the garden or in the pool and the two evenings we shared together were great fun. The gite was left really clean and tidy. We really look forward to seeing them again.

Relaxing place with fantastic views

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful well maintained property complete with perfect hosts. Ideally placed for easy access to the motorway and main routes, yet situated in a rural location near to a local town with excellent facilities.

Where to start? Steve, Michelle and family were exceptionally welcoming, which carried on throughout our stay. We immediately felt at home, and were so impressed how the property looked inside and out, yet we hadn’t even reached the heated pool with ‘to die for views’.

The local town Castelneau-Montratier was extremely handy to pop into, only being a couple of miles away. Everyone was friendly and helpful, a good time to practise a bit of French! We got there in the end. It was nice to be remembered and welcomed back when revisiting the local restaurants in the area.

The region has so much to offer for all ages and plenty of information is provided at the property. The local tourist office in Castelneau were very helpful and accommodating.

We didn’t manage to do everything in our two weeks, we were on holiday after all. So we have the perfect excuse to return and discover new things next year. Without any doubt we can recommend this property to friends and family alike.

……. And I nearly forgot… the pool is an amazing 30 degrees at all times!

We very much look forward to seeing them again.

A lovely gite in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully converted gite in a great area. It has everything you could need, is both clean and very comfortable, and is just as good as it looks in the photographs. The pool is fabulous, with wonderful views.

Michele, Steve and the girls are very welcoming, checking that we had all we needed, and with advice about the area. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to family and friends and would love to go back.

When we arrived at the Gite we though "wow" what a beautiful setting. The Gite itself is done to a very high standard. We were greeted by the family and made to feel very welcome. Michele, Steve and the girls are lovely people. It is an ideal location to visit the whole of the surrounding area, which we have fallen in love with. Wonderful area to explore and the people in the area are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

From the Owner

Having lived in a busy English city, we love the peace, tranquility and above all the space of living in this part of France. The climate is a big bonus, with long hot summers and short winters where you can still see the sun even when it's cold. We love this area as it is so secluded, surrounded by woodland, rolling countryside, vineyards and amazing wildlife. Yet, it is only 7 mins drive from a pretty hilltop village with all the amenities you need and with friendly people. Cahors and other places of historical interest and beauty are all within easy reach.

From the Owner

We searched all over the Lot and even into the Dordogne until we found this place. But when we came here we fell in love with it: the pretty traditional stone buildings, the stunning view and its wonderful position, nestled into a south facing wooded hilltop. This is a perfect spot for nature lovers and those like us, who just like to get away from it all but near enough to the local vineyard to top up on the fantastically priced local wine. While you are here why not benefit from a relaxing massage on site from the owner who is a qualified well being massage therapist. Fresh free range eggs from our hens are available on request.
