Fully equipped to meet your every comfort, the apartment comes with a large flat screen TV with Freeview Satellite channels, DVD player, iPod dock, and is always warm with plenty of hot water after a hard day's skiing. Off-street parking is right by the front door.

Excellent, smart and well-appointed apartment

We had a very comfortable stay at La Bevire. Ideal for our needs, it is a smart, clean and well-appointed two bedroom apartment - all mod-cons including fast broadband. Excellent location for the centre of Morzine. Quiet, with only the sound of rushing water from the local river to awaken you. Although this was a summer stay (for walking, cycling and watching Le Tour) I can see it would be a great spot for skiing, close to lifts and the aprés ski in the town. Highly recommended - we will be back.

Great position and outstanding value for money!

Beautifully decorated, chic cushions and furnishings and very clean. Lots of little extras thrown in like basic condiments in the kitchen and coffee! Good area for storing ski equipment and toasty warm apartment when we returned from a day out on the slopes. Good area in the hall for hanging damp clothes and everything dried out over night. Lovely balcony - we had some sunny weather so it was great to sit outside, relax and watch the world go by! It is a fab spot for restaurants, bars and a well stocked supermarket. The food in the restaurants is outstanding and we had a great time at Le Clin D'Oeil - just across the street from the apartment, I would highly recommend eating there. We went to Dixie Bar a couple of times and saw a fantastic Irish band. We had breakfast in various cafes around the town and had good wifi connection in all except for when it was snowing!! The atmosphere in the town is very welcoming and to top it all off the ski hire shop is no more than 15 steps away from the entrance to the apartment block! The bus to the slopes is a short walk and the ski area is huge and brilliant for all levels. So all in all we had the best time and it was lovely being in a light modern apartment that was cosy, easy to keep tidy and clean!! That's why I think this apartment deserves ***** !

Great apartment. Wifi issues were disappointing

Very nice apartment, clean and well appointed. The wifi is difficult to log into and the sky box doesn't work when it snows. Bring some DVDs if you intend to stay in

Owner's Response: It is dispiriting to get such a mediocre review especially when the client on more than one occasion has said how good the apartment is. The two issues he had were outside our control. Yes, when it's blizzarding, satellite TV's get patchy. As for the free wifi, clients before and after didn't encounter problems and this one was refunded the weekly cost. There is a free DVD selection but we generally find that people on holiday like to go out to enjoy the many bars, cinema, ice skating, ice hockey, swimming & spa complex and restaurants on the doorstep.

What a gem!

We have stayed at the wonderful Bevire a few times and love it so much. The decor is sleek and smart, and every detail has been thought of; well equipped kitchen with dishwasher (yay!) and some food basics which is such a nice touch, DVD's, lots of storage, beds you melt in to (wow you sleep well there), stunning views and breakfast in the sun on the balcony, and we echo another reviewer that it's always warm and unlike some have always had lovely hot deep baths. The compactness of La Bevire is its bonus as it's so easy and cosy, perfect for four of you, and we always choose the smaller bedroom as we sleep so well in there. The apartment is super well located a few mins from the high street, slopes, ski buses (or top tip, drive to the free car parks at the bottom of the main cable cars) and supermarket/farmers market or there are loads of great and reasonably priced restaurants and take away places to choose from.

And all this just one hour from Geneva! Share a transfer it's cheaper than the coach and fits around your flight times. Or hire a car but you could so have a car free break.

We love La Bevire and so will you (though we're loathed to share this amazing secret gem!)

Not good!

First the good things, and there are lots. The position of the apartment is excellent, quiet and with very easy access to all the slopes. Right underneath is an excellent ski-hire shop with very helpful staff and a supermarket is nearby. The beds are beautifully comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked.

But....

I would be very upset to be the third or fourth adult in this apartment as the second bedroom is little bigger than the bed and has no window.

The towels we got, far from being 'huge and fluffy' were as small as you could call 'bath towel' and not at all fluffy.

The armchair was dangerously in need of repair, having so many of its supporting straps completely broken (and neatly tucked away!) that we had an accident getting out of the chair.

The hot water never once ran a complete hot bath without many long delays. We had to watch it running and be ready to turn off the 'hot' when it (frequently) ran cold, and ferry in kettles of boiling water.

For us the worst disaster occurred on our arrival because the owner had changed both the local agent and the code for the key-safe. The email he claims to have sent telling us has still not arrived. So we spent a miserable hour or two trying to get in and to date have not had any apology. Huge thanks to the ski-shop and the new agents for their sympathetic help.

Owner's Response: It is dispiriting to receive our first negative comments after 12 years of letting La Bevire. Most of this client's unhappiness is centred on him apparently not receiving an email in January detailing new Keysafe codes and Client Contact numbers. Without exception, all our other guests received and acted on this email and indeed this client has responded to each and every other email sent to him, so this remains a mystery. As far as the hot water is concerned, it is a central system and we were there throughout January and had no problems and subsequent guests after this client also had no problems. My agent had examined the armchair and said it was not dangerous - a webbing strap had broken which has subsequently been replaced. There are full pictures of the second bedroom on this website and whilst it is compact, no one has complained about it before. Finally my agent is adamant that a broken ornate hook was this client's responsibility as it was fine before they arrived - something denied by this client. Sometimes clients and a property don't gel - this is one of those occasions and the comments are unnecessary and unhelpful especially when reaction to any of their comments while they were there was swift and with resolution. There are two sides to every story and we are grateful for this opportunity to set the record straight. Thank you.

Location

From the Owner

We had previously owned a chalet nearby and wanted a smaller centrally located apartment in Morzine. La Bevire fitted the bill because all amenities from great bars, restaurants, the main supermarket to 4 free bus routes to all the ski areas are all within 100 metres. We use La Bevire as much in Summer for great walking/hiking and open air swimming. Morzine puts on great entertainment all year round.

Mountain biking, walking, water sports (e.g. white water rafting and canyoning), swimming, tennis, horse riding etc.

Travel:

Geneva Airport is an easy 1 hour drive/70km from Morzine. Regular, low cost flights are available. You can also catch the Snow Train from London to Aigle in Switzerland which is also 1 hour transfer. Many companies in the village offer good value, direct transfers, or there are regular coaches from Geneva Airport to Morzine, as once you are in Morzine you can do without a car if you wish!

Further Details:

There is a large and very well stocked Carrefour supermarket close by. There is a weekly Farmer's Market on Wednesdays. Morzine is a working village where you can find all amenities such as banks and shops. It has a wealth of lovely restaurants and fun bars. It also has two cinemas which regularly show English films. There are plenty of ski hire shops.
