The best apartment we have ever stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

Reading the reviews on here, I would second every one of them.

The apartment is wonderful, really well-designed, amazing views, 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets for the 5 of us! It has been really tastefully decorated and there is nothing that you could think of that is not there! The rooms are all the perfect size, the cleanliness could not be faulted. Ali, from the management team was welcoming and included a few bits in the fridge when we arrived which was most appreciated. Irene, the owner, has been a great communicator and helped us out with booking transfers and a car hire also.

We really loved the infinitiy pool and the views over Kalkan, we watched the sunset on a few evenings from the balcony before heading out to eat in one of the many fine restaurants in Kalkan. I wouldn't follow trip advisor for recommendations though, we found Irene's recommendations to be much better. Having said that, the food was great in all of them, slightly more pricey than where we went last year (Dalyan) but I don't know whether that is because all prices have risen this year or not.

There are a few bars for a drink after the meal, but no clubs which suited us fine! We all had a turn of walking back up the hill although it is much easier to get a cab still costing only £2.50. On the last night my 8 year old beat us all up walking!

Our favourite day out was a boat trip but also would recommend Patara beach. Just relaxing and swimming in the pool was also fantastic!

We loved Kalkan and especially Limon apartment so much, can't imagine another apartment being so lovely so would not stay anywhere else now - we've been spoilt!

The fantastic images you see on the page when booking the apartment don't actually give you the true "picture". The views, and quality of the apartment are even better in "real life".

The communication with Irene (the owner) was first class from start to finish, when we arrived in the early hours of the morning we were met by Ali who welcomed us and showed us around the property and also gave us a "goody bag" of essentials inc: coffee, tea, bread, jam and milk , which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone and everyone. The information pack we were sent in advance gave a list of the great restaurants, which we attempted to visit and were happy with everyone we had time to visit . The like all of Kalkan the apartment is up a steep hill, walking into the town was no problem and getting the taxi back up late in the evening only cost approx £2 for the 4 of us. Brilliant apartments, brilliant holiday and fantastic people to do business with - Well done

The perfect holiday in Kalkan!

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from a week in the Limon apartment in Kalkan and are in agreement that this was the best holiday we have ever had!

The apartment is set just above the small town of Kalkan which rises up out of the bay. As a result the views from the apartment are absolutely stunning. You look over the bay and the islands and the sun sets directly in front of you behind the headland. We were able to watch the breathtaking sunsets every evening with a drink on the balcony before walking out to dinner. Perfect.

The apartment itself was stunning, beautifully furnished and well equipped - we didn't want for anything. The attention to detail was really impressive and there were some lovely homely touches so we didn't feel like we were staying in just any holiday let. The beds were extremely comfortable too and we both got a really good nights sleep without fail which makes a nice change! It really was 5 star.

The apartments owner Irene ensured we really made the most of our holiday and made the whole experience run seamlessly from booking right through to heading home (sadly) - thank you Irene!! All of the information you provided us about the best restaurants and places to see meant we really made the most of our time there. There's still plenty to see though on our return trip!

As for Kalkan, it really is a hidden gem. It isn't a typical large 'resort' as it had hardly any hotels, mainly low rise apartments/villas built around a lovely old town and harbour with pretty little shops, bars and restaurants and as a result it feels a little bit special. The people were friendly and welcoming without exception and the bars and restaurants were outstanding, especially dining out on the rooftop terraces late into the night.

We really were blown away by Limon apartment and Kalkan and are already planning our return trip to experience it all over again! Thank you Irene!

Amazing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

What can I say if I could give it a ten I would, from the minute I enquired about the Limon apartment to the time I returned home everything was perfect the communication was first class from Irene. Although the apartment is on a hill, the views were stunning everything in Kalkan consists of a hill of some type that's what makes it so unique, I have had 2 holidays in Turkey and nothing beats Kalkan the apartment hosts 3 bedrooms which are fabulous the apartment is gorgeous pool lay out and sun beds are luxurious there are so many roof top restaurants to eat one was better that another. a Carafour supermarket is situated at the bottom of the hill you can buy anything from.We ate in the apartment for breakfast and lunch and ate out at night a taxi would cost around 8/10 TL up the hill that's about £2.50 but it can be fun walking up and looking onto the town. please take the advise and don't take high shoes I wore flip flops for the whole week so buy yourself some nice fancy one's that will go with your outfits. unfortunately we only went to one beach (Kalkan Beach by water taxi which was lovely and food was reasonably priced with a great selection to choose from , the Turkish people were so nice I never once felt uncomfortable I know that some people may think that the men can be a little sleazy well not in Kalkan I felt safer than I do in Britain . I am going to close this review by saying what a fantastic experience , and that you have not been to Turkey until you have been to Kalkan and the Limon Apartment.

Thanks to Irene and her team in Kalkan 10/10

The Limon Apartment is perfectly positioned to enjoy both a stunning hilltop vista over the bay and to have the convenience of an evening stroll into the characterful old town to chose from a plethora of rooftop gourmet restaurants for dinner.

Limon was very well equipped, clean, fresh, modern, light and happily facilitated a restful holiday.

Irene was contactable and very helpful throughout and I really would recommend both Kalkan and the apartment. We had a gloriously hot ten days to experience the ruins of Letoon, Tlos and Xanthos. We Joined the locals on the Beach of Patara, hiked through the breathtaking gorge at Saklikent and dined in the very English resorts of Kalkan and Kas. Thank you so much Irene............. a perfect holiday for our family.

Fabulous Apartment

  • 5 of 5

After many months of research, firstly deciding which part of Turkey to go to and secondly what accommodation to choose I finally settled on the Limon Apartment in Kalkan. The best decision I made.

The apartment is very new and is one of four. We were lucky enough to be the only family staying in the apartments, but even if this was not the case there is plenty of room and privacy around the pool. I will start with the pool..an amazing infinity pool and from looking around at all the surrounding pools, by far the biggest. It was spotlessly clean with a man coming in daily to check. The outside area surrounding the pool is beautifully landscaped and clean and the sunloungers are comfortable and plentiful.

The apartment itself was first class. Very spacious, lovely décor with plently of everything you need. We only used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch but it had every utensil you need, Irene has thought of everything. There are lots of lovely little touches that you don't often get in holiday lets. The beds were really comfortable and the apartment was beautifully clean.

What you gain from the amazing view over Kalkan bay you lose when struggling up the hill to get home. I don't think this can be avoided in Kalkan as the majority of lets are elevated. The taxi's are cheap so you can always get one home. The walk into town is downhill and takes 15 minutes maximum. There were six adults in my party, four of them my adult children. The apartment and grounds were big enough for us all to have adequate space away from each other when needed.

I can't recommend this apartment highly enough.

Owner's Response: Thank you Oonagh for such a lovely review! We have tried hard to make Limon Apartment the sort of holiday accommodation we would like to go to ourselves. We are delighted both you and your family enjoyed your stay there. We have spent many years choosing the right location for our apartment, and feel we have found it in the peacefulness of Kiziltas, Kalkan. Close enough to the Old Town to be able to walk to the many wonderful restaurants, and yet far enough away, to enjoy the wonderful sea and mountain views of the village. We do hope to welcome you and your family back in the near future. Kind regards, Irene & Richard Issitt
