This charming Provençal style studio apartment is 55 sq/mtrs & situated south facing on the top floor of an original three storied building. It is sunny, light, spacious and airy. Order your favourite coffee from the speciality coffee shop next door. Directly opposite is the most famous Fromagerie (cheese shop) in Aix; continue 50metres to Place Richelme, where the bustling local produce market takes place daily, here you can stock up on your locally grown fruit, vege, cheeses, salami & sausages, local delicacies, flowers and more. You are in the beating heart of the ancient medieval city, walk in any direction from here and you are surrounded by a tangle of beautiful small squares, ancient buildings, fountains, cafe’s restaurants, bars, galleries, museums, boutiques and speciality shops. From the first visit to Paris over 20 years ago to our more recent visits and stays with friends who live in Provence we have been captured by the beauty, history, traditions, cuisine, the long summer months and the French chic way of life. There is so much to discover, enjoy and savour in this magnificent country and particularly in the Provence region with its contrasts from beach resorts to hilltop villages and a unique combination of romance, glamour and a Mediterranean climate. We adore the French style and elegance and our apartment reflects this in its decor and furnishings for both our comfort and enjoyment and for yours.

The apartment is situated in the heart of historic Aix in an original building with charm, ambiance & special architectural features. You couldn’t be more central, walk everywhere or for day trips out of the city, access parking locations close by. We love the buzz of activity & the feeling of having our own slice of an amazingly beautiful and historic town with so many places to explore and things to do right at our doorstep. The local cuisine & produce is a big part of our enjoyment, divine flavours, delicious delicacies & stunning wines.

Traditional elegant Provençal style furnishings combined with flagstone floors, amazing old style Poutre (exposed beams) and stunning antique Parefeuille (terracotta) ceiling. Only a short 5min walk to the Cours Mirabeau where you can stroll the picturesque tree-lined boulevard (Champs Elysees of Aix) or take a day trip to Avignon, Marseille, Cassis, Isle sur la Sorgue, Gordes, Roussillon....then return after an outing, to relax in the beautiful ambiance of your apartment ... where you can cook up a storm, relax, put on a music CD, check your email, unlimited free wifi, take a nice hot shower et bonne nuit!

Recently we were lucky enough to spend a week in beautiful Aix-en-Provence.

We wanted a true French experience so rented an apartment in the old town of Aix. This apartment is decorated with impressive French flair and everything available to ensure our stay was a comfortable and memorable one.

The location of the apartment couldn’t have been better, surrounded by the historic city centre, beautiful restaurants, fashionable shops, the famous markets and of course the very special cheese shop right opposite, yummy!

There is much to do and see in and around Aix-en-Provence and the tourism centre was very helpful.

We are Tango dancers so having an excellent Tango school just outside the centre of Aix was a great opportunity to learn and socialise with excellent teachers and dancers.

All those we met on our stay were very friendly and we hope to return in the future to indulge ourselves some more in beautiful Aix En Provence.

Notes on accommodation: The entire apartment is elegantly furnished and decorated in the traditional Provençal colours and style for your enjoyment and comfort. The traditional flagstone floor, combines with the amazing old style Poutre (exposed beams) and the stunning antique Parefeuille (terracotta) ceiling - something not often seen anymore, adding to the wonderful ambiance of traditional French living. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedding & towels are provided, including mattress protectors, mattress topper for Queen bed, fine plush sheets, duvet covers/inners, pillows & covers. Apartment is professionally cleaned at the end of every stay. Additional cleaning can be arranged.

Charming, Convenient, Cosy

I highly recommend this lovely apartment in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and picturesque. Communications are professional and efficient. I was a female traveling alone, and I felt like royalty sleeping in the sumptuous loft bed every evening. The bed is simply luscious! I imagine the loft would make for a wonderful romantic retreat as well (maybe next time ;) Use caution on that Japanese staircase, though; it can be tricky. Speaking of stairs, yes, if you are easily winded or otherwise have trouble climbing, this flat may not be for you. Lugging a large suitcase up/down the narrow spiral is a challenge. But once you're in, however, the flat is clean, charmingly decorated, light, and convenient to everything, including the markets on the square just a few steps away. I also recommend you stop by the Office of Tourism in the Centre Ville upon your arrival (approx. 8-minute walk from the flat) and check out the many day tours available (some brochures in the apartment, too). I was able (and fortunate) to book some tours online on the spur-of-the-moment. The tour groups were small (5-8 people), the guides were fun and knowledgeable, and the excursions really added much to the experience of Provence. Since I've returned home, I've discovered just how very enchanted I was with this apartment. Although I don't have a loft bedroom, I'm finding other ways to replicate the charming touches in my own decor (get yourself some French bed linens at the market or a boutique!) In all, this made for a very comfortable and convenient home base. Merci, Carol, John, & Bernadette!

This apartment was just perfect!

This apartment was just perfect! It was beautifully laid out with everything we needed and couldn't have been in a better position. We didn't even mind the 50 steps up and down because it meant we didn't feel guilty for eating all those pain au chocolate, crepes, cheese etc! The market being so near was a real bonus - We wish we could just pop out and buy fresh fruit like that etc for our breakfast here back home! The double glazed windows were so good. One evening was particularly noisy with the arrival of new students in town and when the windows were closed you could hardly hear them. We would have gone down to join them but figured we probably weren't in the right age group!!!

Would we return? We hope so one day and we wouldn't hesitate to use this apartment again. The main purpose of our stay was in relation to a product launch & workshops and I think some of the other delegates who were staying in hotels on the edge of the city were a little jealous when we were telling them about it! We very much enjoyed our stay in this wonderful apartment and highly recommend it.

lovely, airy, bright & tasteful

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The apartment is lovely, airy and bright, tastefully decorated and exactly as shown in the photos. The rain shower head was marvelous. The kitchen was equipped with everything a guest might require. There was ample hot water and heating.

The bed was super comfortable with a thick feather duvet and the linens exquisite.

A word of caution for the stairs up to the flat. Don?t wear stilettos. There are 51 steps and the staircase is narrow, but it?s great exercise and will allow you that extra slab of pat?.

I would highly recommend this flat as a central location smack in the middle of Aix. The outdoor market in the square is at your doorstep 7 days a week and there is a little convenience store right around the corner. If you have a car, you can park at several spots all within a 10 minute walk from the apartment.

A much more economical parking facility 'Park & Ride' is provided by the city only 10mins drive from the centre at a rate of only 2.10 Euro per day and a free shuttle to/from the car park is provided for all your passengers.


Aix-en-Provence is centrally located for day trips to the stunning Luberon Valley and its spectacularly picturesque towns such as La Coste, Roussillon & Gordes; trips to the seaside in Marseille and Cassis where you can experience the delicious Bouillabaisse dish and wonderful seaside scenery and much more.
