A wonderful family house, spacious, well equipped and child friendly. This beautiful Perigordian farmhouse and adjacent barn conversion can sleep a total of 14 people with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Situated in 100 acres of private grounds at the end of a quiet country lane it is in a peaceful setting with wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. Tennis court, large private heated pool*, private river access for fishing, games room with table tennis, pool table and fitness machines. The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and the adjacent spacious Barn sleeps 2 with bathroom with bath and separate shower. The games room also has a bathroom with shower. An ideal base for sightseeing with lots of local tourists attractions nearby, famous caves, chateaux, restaurants and market towns this is a gastronomic region! 10 mins drive to the nearest town with all amenities.

"Lavaud is a truly remarkable property, with fabulous views across a stunning valley. The owners who live nearby have done a remarkable job of creating a perfect holiday destination which would suit everyone, whether you are active and sporty, or just after a holiday to totally chill out and relax. The facilities Lavaud has to offer are the best I have every come across, especially for the price. The gym is brilliant, amazing room, with so much equipment, our teenage boys didn't want to leave, and have asked if they could take more friends another time.

The property is ideal for several families, as there is so much to do there, you really don't need to go anywhere else, however if you can drag yourself out, there are some fantastic restaurants and pretty villages nearby.

Overall a brilliant holiday property especially with teenage sporty boys!"

Notes on accommodation: Lavaud offers accommodation for up to 14 people. The property is well furnished with quality bedding and linen. A top quality rental with fully fitted oak kitchen, spacious accommodation and family friendly. Access straight onto the landscaped fenced garden with large terrace for outside dining and barbecuing. The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms and the Barn accommodation is a beautiful self contained spacious 1 bedroom apartment just a few steps across the courtyard. It is very popular with couples or people wishing for a little more independence from the main group. With easy access to the large swimming pool, which is fenced and alarmed. Outside: The large enclosed walled garden and terrace offer magnificent views across the valley, direct access from the kitchen to the terrace and barbecue, for dining alfresco. Plenty of seating and a large table with shade. There are woods and walks straightly from the farmhouse. With an abundance of maps and leaflets of things to do locally. walkers or cyclists alike have got plenty of choice. The setting for the private swimming pool offers stunning views across the valley, and is not over looked. The 12 x 6m floodlit swimming pool is south-facing and has Roman steps for easy access. The pool is fenced for the safety of young children as well as having 2 pool alarms. Plenty of sun loungers, garden table and chairs, a large metal gazebo and several sun brollies are on the large terrace surrounding the pool. The full size tennis court is a 150m from the pool. Utility Room: Separate utility room with large washing machine, tumble dryer and sink, ironing board and iron Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and house towels are included

Lavaud is an amazing property set in a beautiful location. The farmhouse and barn which we had for the week was above and beyond our expectations on all accounts. Every room is large, very well decorated and appointed. The kitchen, dinning area has everything you would need and the lounge area with large TV is perfect to unwind in. The DVD and U.K. Tv was great for the kids,, Wifi at the property was also beneficial. The outside areas are expertly maintained and there a number of great places to relax at any time of the day. The views are superb from morning until night. The pool and games room were perfect for both adults and kids and extremely well equipped. We made good use of the gym equipment too. I can't recommend Lavaud enough and we would love to be back here again.

Neil and Jeanette do a great job managing the property and were always helpful with advice on where to visit in the local area. Thank you both so much for a truly memorable holiday.

Lavaud is in the north of the Dordogne department in the Perigord Vert.

A car is recommended. We are approx 7.5hours drive from Calais

Limoges airport - 50km

Calais 700km

Distances:

The beautiful market town of Thiviers with is weekly market is just a 10 min drive away. It is one of the best markets in the region with lots of local produce, foie gras, duck, truffles, cheeses, fruit and vegetables. The town has numerous boulangeries, butchers, supermarkets, banks, boutique shops and restaurants. The capital of the Dordogne, Perigueux is a 35 min drive away and well worth visiting the old town.

Brantome - the Venice of the Perigord is a must visit place during your stay.

Further Details:

Situated in a region of caves, chateaux and quaint villages and market towns Lavaud makes an ideal base for exploring this historic region.

There is a wealth of tourist sites to explore locally as well as activities like canoeing, velorail, lake beaches, acro parc, there really is something for everyone on your holiday here at Lavaud.
