Casa Oliveira has been newly built in a stunning and private location set on a hill-top with panoramic views towards the Atlantic and the bay of Sao Martinho. Fantastic views are provided by full height floor to ceiling windows and sun terraces. Inside the house is stylish with much thought given to the interior design including the quality and comfort of the furniture. The beds have been chosen for the best night's sleep with quality white bed linen. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area. The inside areas provide lots of space for different activities including a stunning open plan living area at the ground floor with a TV/games area at the lower level giving direct access to the pool. Outside there are a number of sun terraces with outside dining furniture, the pool and barbecue area, a Mediterranean garden and orchard all set in wonderful countryside. The pool is appointed to be in the sun all day. Some wetsuits and golf clubs are provided.

We live in England and have had many great family holidays in Portugal renting villas both on the Algarve and the Silver Coast. We enjoy playing golf and love the local Portuguese food and wine and the beautiful unspoilt coastline that this area offers.

Why Debbie Hurren chose Alcobaca

We completed the house in 2012 after an eighteen month build period. We believe that with an eye for detail we have created a very comfortable holiday home that makes the most of its beautiful setting with the dramatic views of the hills and ocean.

We chose this area because it is so unspoilt yet there is so much to do - the culture, beaches, golf, surfing, cycling and visiting the wonderful city of Lisbon. We particularly love the lagoon and the beaches north of Nazare. There are loads of good local restaurants where you can eat out for 10-15 Euros per head including the very reasonable Portuguese wine.

What makes this villa unique

We have designed the villa to make the most of the outside and the inside spaces. You can easily find a quiet corner to chill out, read a book or to watch the spectacular sunsets from the terrace. The downstairs games/TV room that opens on to the pool area is a fantastic space for kids and adults. The pool is very popular and is large enough to swim for exercise as well as to cool off. We hope that you will find our holiday home as special as we do!

What an amazing find!

This property is beautiful! So much space, yet homely at the same time. Everything you could want in a holiday let and more. Located just outside a small village about an hours drive from Lisbon, the views are spectacular of the picturesque coastal village of San Martinho do Porto and the surrounding countryside. You need a car, which gives you the freedom of visiting local towns, beaches and Lisbon. Perfect for families and groups as there is a ground floor bedroom and games room, lots of outdoor space with a lovely pool area! Would definitely return and hope to do so next year.

House is actually much much nicer than it is on the pictures.

Perfect house, perfect pool area, privat and grate view.

We had doubts about taking house without airconditioning, but it worked just fine.

Just keep closed your window blinds during daytime and house will stay cool.

We had really grate holiday there.

Fantastic Villa!

We have been visiting the Silver Coast since 2008 and have stayed in various places around the region and can say without hesitation that this is the best location of all. - The villa is situated just off the beaten track and the view of Sao Martinho do Porto from the terraces and, in particular, the lounge is outstanding!

The villa is extremely well appointed and is massive! - There are quality furnishings throughout and the beds are some of the most comfortable we have ever used. - As detailed in previous reviews, the pictures simply do not do it justice.

We found this an extremely well laid-out, comfortable property to stay in. It is set in a very peaceful location but only a few minutes drive away from the surrounding towns and villages where all the necessary amenities can be found. The A8 and N8 are also only a few minutes drive away which makes exploring this beautiful region so easy.

Debbie was extremely helpful prior to and during our stay. - This was truly one of the best holiday weeks we have ever had and we definitely intend to return.

beautiful, spacious villa

Just returned from a wonderful week in this beautiful villa. The villa was exactly as pictured and as a family of 8 adults we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space both inside and out. The villa was very well equipped with everything needed for our stay. It was spotlessly clean and the pool and garden well maintained. Although a bit off the beaten track and a car is essential the area is very unspoilt and we enjoyed day trips to Nazare, Obidos and to Lisbon which were all easily reached. A special thanks to Debbie who was so helpful from our first booking to our departure. She made the whole process so easy and nothing was a problem for her

What a villa!

I have just returned from spending a week with my family in this amazing villa. There were seven adults and a small child but the amount of space in this villa was unbelievable! The pictures on here do not do it justice. The views are to die for and you could sit on the chaise longe looking out of the massive windows and watch the sunset over the sea! Most relaxing holiday I have had in a long time. Did not want to leave this beautiful house. Thanks for renting it to us we will be back!

Sao Martinho do Porto is the nearest beach (5 km) and is a lovely, horseshoe-shaped sandy bay which is protected from the Atlantic and has calm shallow waters. The waterfront is lined with cafés, coffee bars, boutiques and restaurants and has the feel of a quality continental beach resort.

Other sandy bathing beaches close by are at Salir do Porto and Foz do Arelho where the lagoon is calm and safe for children.

Wilder and beautiful surfing beaches are around Nazare and Peniche.

Travel:

Airport - Lisbon 95 km

Railway - Caldas da Rainha 12 km

Boat - 8 hours from Santander/Bilbao

Budget airlines fly to Lisbon (1 hour), Faro (2.5 hours) and Porto (3 hours). Includes Easyjet, Ryanair, TAP. BA to Porto.

Car hire is essential and can be arranged from Lisbon with the major car hire companies. Local taxi hire details are available at the villa.

10 minutes - Caldas da Rainha for shopping, markets, cinema and restaurants

15 minutes - medieval walled town of Obidos

15 minutes - Foz de Arelho and the Obidos lagoon. Beaches, restaurants and water sports.

Further Details:

Local places of interest within easy reach include the medieval towns of Alcobaca and Obidos (culture and festivals); the Obidos lagoon and Foz do Arelho (water sports including kite boarding, relaxation and fishing); the thermal spa town of Caldas da Rainha (museums, galleries, shopping, cinema and markets); and Bombarral (wines and restaurants).

Casal do Pardo is a small hill-top village where you can buy basics such as bread and pastries in walking distance. The local grill sells pizza and regional dishes including fish and pork. Large supermarkets selling everything you will need for stocking up are close by at Sao Martinho and Tornada.

Lisbon is only an hour away from the villa offering shopping, culture, dining, bars, music and night-life!

The area has fortunately remained uncommercialised and unspoilt and is great value for money particularly for eating out. The local people are very friendly and welcoming.
