About this property

A Unique And Spacious Edwardian House Perfect For Family Get Togethers And Share

Set in 7 acres of private woodland, Rosemerryn is a former artist’s residence, built for Benjamin Leder at the turn of the twentieth century. With spacious bedrooms, a big farmhouse kitchen and a large lounge, the house is reminiscent of a slower more pensive way of life. The lounge was once the artist's studio, and is beautifully lit by a huge north-facing window. This, along with the conservatory, and the private garden, allow plenty of space for a members of a big group to be together, but also to escape on their own. Adjacent to the house is the new games room, equipped with a table tennis table, a good sound system and an overhead projector for viewing movies or sky TV. Outside, beyond the garden, is the Bolegh Fogou, a 2000 year old cave or temple, which was once part of an iron-age settlement; just one of numerous such Ancient Celtic Sites to be found in the far west of Cornwall. There are well worn paths to follow through the woods, many made by badgers and foxes, and one, trodden more by humans, which will direct you down through the valley to the local pub, the Lamorna Wink, or on to the Cove where there is a small café overlooking the harbour beach and the waves rolling in across the Atlantic.

Fabulous!
I've just got back from a week at Rosemerryn and what a week it was! Never been to Cornwall before but what an amazing place, all made perfect by staying at this beautiful property.I would recommend renting Rosemerryn as , even if the weather isn't sunny(it was for us!) then there's still plenty to occupy you indoors . We all enjoyed perusing the books (for young and old), playing and singing at the piano, cinema night in the studio and huddling around the fire pit into the night. We had a party of 11 ranging from 4yrs to 90 yrs and our family holiday has never run so smoothly - the downstairs bedrooms were a huge bonus for ",the oldies". Thank you, Laura and Rob, for a wonderful stay and for the yummy cake and wine x x

Fantastic old house, amazing location
The house is really nice - charming, deceptively large and well laid-out. We loved the huge kitchen table, cooking on the Aga, the fireplace and having table tennis in the games room. The location is also fantastic. It is in a beautiful wood, set back from the road, walking distance from beautiful Lamorna Cove and a short drive to many other beautiful Cornish spots. Gorgeous Porthcurno is close-by. And having the ancient Fogou in the backyard just made it all the more atmospheric. We would love to return some time.

Utterly wonderful...
What can I say? We were a family group of 8 and Rosemerryn was simply perfect. Beautiful property, clean, light and full of character. We wanted for nothing during our stay... The house and gardens are fantastic and it was a treat to explore and to learn about the history and the fogou! We enjoyed the studio for table tennis and movies, the garden for barbecues. Everything was so lovely. Thank you so much to Laura and Rob (sorry we didn't get chance to meet you but we enjoyed meeting Finn, Norman and the little black lady puddy) - hopefully we will meet you if we get chance to return... and we would all love to return!!

Perfect for our 'big family holiday'
Everything about our stay was wonderful. Laura and Rob have thought of everything to make it a real 'home from home'. There were 13 of us in all , parents, children, grandchildren aged from 60 years to 3 months and everyone of us enjoyed our visit. A beautiful house, clean, comfy , spacious in a beautiful location. There was something for all of us, the children especially liked the games studio and exploring the woods and cave . It was an easy drive to the beaches and many attractions Cornwall has to offer. Would definitely recommend it for large family or group of friends.

A delightful lace for a family holiday
A lovely house, with exciting grounds for children to play in. Laura & Rob so welcoming & helpful. The house is full of lovely things & feels so relaxing. And it’s close to soany places to visit - if you can drag the kids away from the garden! It was just perfect for our family reunion & we all loved it.
