LynnManners purchased this cottage in 1980

Why LynnManners chose North Yorkshire

We have always lived in York but we knew someone that was selling this property in this much sort after village

Stockton on the Forest is in the countryside yet just 4 mls from York it has easy access into the city approx 10 mins in car also a bus runs every 30 mins so it has been ideal for our children to get into York without a car.

The village has lovely walks and the Forest Park Golf course is just behind the house

As its on the East side of York it's easy to get to the East Coast

There are lots of lovely country pubs in surrounding villages

We bought the house and decided to do B&B and due to the popularity of it we thought it was a good idea to convert the outbuildings to holiday cottages we haven't looked back guests return

Year after year

Well behaved dogs may be able to holiday in the cottages but not in the B&B as we have cats and a dog

The local pub is very dog friendly so you can take your furry friend out with you after a lovely walk along the many footpaths

There also is a doggy day car centre 10 mins away if you need a day to visit York

Please ring me with any questions

What makes this cottage unique

Guests enjoy getting away from the city and relaxing in the B&B or in the privacy of their own cottage.

Many guests arrive and leave there car taking the bus to York as it runs every 30 mins

Our daughter is a hair dresser and gives special rates to guests.

Many guests have booked our apartment in Mallorca after seeing the pictures.

We serve local produce and can provide a hearty breakfast in the B&B and Evening meals for those that wish to settle in by the real fire. Children are welcome.

There is a great pub over the road serving excellent meals

The village is surrounded by countryside walks ideal for those visitors that wish to bring dogs

Good Value Just Outside York

  • 4 of 5

Church View B and B is an easy bus ride from York, and also on the bus route to Whitby and other coastal towns. I booked a studio room which was large and would accommodate a family of four. Having a small food prep area with fridge, toaster, and microwave gave me flexibility for preparing food, and Lynne makes lovely breakfasts as well. There is a small convenience store within walking distance for papers, milk, basic goods, etc. and Tom who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Good value and friendly. Wifi, TV, tea and coffee supplies were included.
