NB The standard changeover day at Torridon is a Thursday. We do allow short breaks at all but the busiest times - just ask. Please be aware that for short breaks and non standard start days, the pro rata price displayed on this website will not be correct. Please just contact us for pricing.

Torridon is well equipped and beautifully designed and furnished, with wonderful light throughout. It has been laid out with the living space on the 1st floor to capitalise on the great views across to Trevose Head. Torridon has rather special atmosphere and a great location. The property has benefited from an inspired redesign and refit in 2009. All fittings and furnishings are of a high quality, and the overall feel of the house is stylish and smart, and yet warm and welcoming. There is central heating throughout, and the finest white cotton sheets on all the beds. Attractive, white painted wooden furniture can be found throughout the house, often furnished with interesting high quality table lights.

About the Owner

Raintree House Holidays is a small beach house letting and management company focusing on a handful of beaches down the coast between Padstow and Porthcothan. All our houses are within walking distance to one of these beautiful beaches and a large number have spectacular sea views. We let our owner’s holiday homes out to guests many of whom we have known for years. Holidays with Raintree will always be memorable and enjoyable as we manage all aspects of the houses ourselves. We employ our own cleaning and maintenance teams, this means we are very flexible and can achieve very high standards across all our houses.

Special interest holidays:

Torridon is perfectly located to provide accommodation for those who want to take part in surfing with some of the best surfing in the UK being available at 6 beaches within 5 minutes of the property. Walkers are also well catered for - with the Coast path only a few minutes walk from the house. And if you are interested in cooking, then courses can be organised in Padstow - not surprising with restaurants by Rick Stein, Jamie Oliver and Paul Ainsworth all being within 10 minutes of the house.

Coast/Beach:

The beach is about 4 minutes walk down the lane – easily close enough to nip up or down without a thought. And if you want to park up the car for as long as possible, there are shops around to cater to your daily needs. The village shop provides newspapers and fresh bread and pasties daily in season. The café is good for a casual lunch or relaxing cup of coffee. Surf and beach equipment can be bought or rented at the surf shop. And the Well Parc pub is easily accessible by foot. The area is also blessed with a number of beautiful beaches only a short distance away. Treyarnon Bay , Constantine Bay, Mother Ivy's Bay and Porthcothan Bay are all within 15 minutes drive.

Travel:

Newquay Airport is 10-15 minutes drive away, while trains can be caught to Bodmin Parkway, a 20 minutes drive.

Distances:

Padstow is 5 minutes drive away, while Newquay is about 25 minutes drive. Rock and Polzeath can be driven to in about 30 minutes - or you can take the ferry across from Padstow. St Ives with its fantastic art galleries and beaches is just 50 minutes away.

Changeover Day:
Torridon's changeover day is Thursday - with arrival by 4pm in the evening and departure by 10am. At half-terms, Easter, and Christmas/New Year we can be flexible, so please enquire.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: We welcome well behaved dog(s). Outside: The private and sunny back garden is accessed through the utility room and provides outdoor eating for 8-10 around a large wooden table. It provides a private space to enjoy that really makes the most of Torridon’s special West View location. The front garden provides further flat lawn space and plenty of parking - it may often be seen strewn with surfboards with the beach being so close. The front lawn also can be quite a sun trap, and provide shelter when the wind may make the back garden blowy. Guests have the benefit of a large double garage for storage and for bad weather games such as table tennis. Large front doors open up the garage, while a rear pedestrian door opens into the back garden. It is very useful cover when occasionally your perfect BBQ may be hampered by a quick shower! Utility Room: On the ground floor, there is a utility room with sink and cupboard under, washing machine, tumble dryer and space for drying clothes. There is also a stand alone freezer here. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: High quality cotton linen and towels are provided. A 'standard' clean is provided on your departure. For 2 week stays, the house is cleaned and linen and towels changed after the 1st week. Other: Moving into the dining area, high quality laminate floors take the place of carpet. A large dining table dominates, but plenty of space surrounding. Views across to Trevose Head dominate any meals. Stylish painted wooden furniture compliments the room.
