The house is 17th Century Cotswold stone, with 4 generous bedrooms. The house is warm and friendly with a very personal feel. The living area, which leads off the kitchen, has an inglenook fireplace, seating area and dining table. There is a separate TV room on the ground floor and a toilet. In the garden there is a converted barn close to the house. This is a large bright modern room with beautiful views across the hills, sliding doors onto a large wooden deck with outdoor dining furniture. The barn itself has a small open plan kitchen, pool table, table tennis and big comfy sofa. Perfect for a rainy afternoon to keep the kids and adults occupied. The house boasts a 300 year old Great Oak on the front lawn from which hang three wonderful swings with the longest 'swing' ever. The gardens are not manicured but rather in keeping with the countryside, with pathways mown through the swaying grass and apple trees and two large ponds. The kitchen and TV rooms open out onto a generous deck on the main house.

Delightful cottage

Even on a wet and windy November weekend, Tew cottage was charming, comfortable, and fun! A family get together was entranced by the unspoilt village and the walkable Falkland Arms, while our toddler loved the dolls house and toys, and the huge swing. Even the pool table mechanism is fascinating if you're two. Would definitely book again.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house has central heating throughout and underfloor heating in the kitchen and TV room. Cot and high chair can be provided. One dog accepted on arrangement with owners, with a £50 cleaning fee. Although the house can sleep 9 very comfortably the living area around the inglenook fireplace is quite cosy with seating for 5/6 and further seating for 5 in the TV room. Outside: The property has 2 acres of fenced gardens, swings, two ponds and beautiful views Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels provided and changed weekly. House cleaned weekly. Other: Outside converted barn with pool table, table tennis, 4 plate stove, oven, small dishwasher, sink and bathroom with shower, wc and basin. There is parking for 2 cars in the driveway. Additional cars need to be parked in the village - 3 minutes away.
