Low Standards
Right from the start I had a bad feeling regarding this booking, in April my son tried to access the villa on homeaway website, to show his partner some photo of same, but villa not on site. I was informed that the owners had not paid their renewal fees. As an owner of a foreign holiday property, we arrived on site with high expectations, but sadly they were quickly dashed.
Externally the patio area left a lot to be desired, in my opinion it was unsafe with many of the patio stones uneven & one could easily have tripped (thankfully we had no children in our party) & perhaps had a bad fall. The BBQ was crumbling & by the end of our 2-week stay had deteriorated even more, there were 4 sun lounges on the property when we arrived, 1 of which was broken, with no cushions, so we have 8 adults scrambling after 1 of 3 loungers, we asked for some more & after a few days some more loungers arrived
The eating area of the patio had a large table for eating but it had a damaged & uneven surface. I could go on & on but I will finish up on the external area with 2 comments, 1 smell of fumes coming from boiler exhaust pipe & alarm in garage going off on a few occasions.
Now we enter the interior, which doesn’t fair much better, the entire building had a damp feeling about it, dirty & chiped dishes in kitchen presses, to very damp odour coming from kitchen presses (so much so that utensils had to be washed before we used them every time we took them from the press
There were 4 bathrooms of which 1 had a blocked drain another had no electricity in the power points, I am really getting fed up typing & I could go on & on but suffice to say the villa did not meet the standards that we were expecting & certainly not meeting the standards of the fees paid
