Perfect!!

This is a lovely little Cottage with everything you need, There is a well equiped Kitchen, fab shower, TV in Lounge and Bedroom, lots of DVD's/Books to choose from for when its raining and a comfortable bed but most of all it was VERY CLEAN! We were welcomed on our arrival with a Bottle of Wine and 2 Glasses on the table. Mira was excellent in her communications and helpful. Port Isaac is a step back in time but is picturesque and a great place to de-stress. Good places to eat and drink and some amazing walks. I would say its not a place for children/Teenagers as there is not much to do but Newquay is only a 40 min drive away. There is no WIFI but you can get a signal at the top of the hill near the NCP Car Park or the Hotel opposite but it was nice to get away from modern technology and just relax. We only got back yesterday but we already miss it and will definitely return soon! Thank you Mira and to the caretaker who made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.

Absolutely perfect de-stress

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect. Brilliant location opposite Louisa's first house if you are a Doc Martin fan and The Old Schoolhouse, minutes from everything. Exceptionally clean and very well stocked in the kitchen. Not that we used it much as we ate at the pub, chippy two door's down (it's OK you can't smell it at all) and Outlaws, but much better supplied than other holiday rentals. Comfortable bed, amazing shower you don't want to get out of! Just lovely to sit on the bench out front with a morning coffee and just watch the World and their dog go by. PERFECT. Excellent communication with the owners throughout, very accommodating as well, most helpful.

COSY WINTER BREAK

  • 5 of 5

We have just come back from a wonderful stay in Creighton Cottage. When we arrived, the heating had been put on earlier in the day for us so it was warm and welcoming. The cottage had all we needed and was spotless. We had sunny days and torrential rain, but nearly all of our time was spent in the cottage or on foot in the local area. The bed was comfortable and the shower amazing. We had a wonderful Sunday Lunch in the Golden Lion pub. Mira was great in her communications with us. We would definitely recommend this property and the owner.

Wonderful Prime Location & Cosy

  • 5 of 5

We were MORE THAN HAPPY with this delightful cottage, the kitchen had everything you needed, the lounge was cosy, the bathroom was ideal - super shower and underfloor heating.

There's no WIFI here but who cares, I got the signal from the hotel opposite so no worries there! Close to all the restaurants and super pubs. Would we stay here again... DEFINATELY YES!

Creighton Cottage in October

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Creighton in the autumn and found it peaceful and cosy. It has a great location in the heart of the village and yet because it is set back from the road, it is possible to sit outside on the garden bench in the mild weather, enjoying a view of the harbour, away from the bustle.

If you wanted to spend all week in Port Isaac, there would be enough wonderful walks on the doorstep to try. We only ventured as far as Padstow and Tintagel and some of the smaller places in between and found plenty to do.

We enjoyed the opportunities to enjoy local fish-bought at the harbour and cooked at the cottage, eaten out at a local fish 'kitchen' and even the fish and chips from the shop on the doorstep. Having ticked off a cream tea, delicious warm pasties and great local ale, we can confirm that Cornwall comes close to foodie heaven!

The cottage is a great place to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings and a good base for exploring further afield, which we will have to keep until next time.

Fabulous Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Port Isaac several times. This cottage is great because it's central (just next to the chippy) but set back from the road, so you don't get anyone looking through your windows! Sitting outside the front having a glass of wine or a cup of tea you still feel part of the village. The property is clean, well maintained and spacious enough for two. Lovely bottle of wine awaited our arrival from the owners. The neighbours (locals) were very friendly, but didn't interfere. Reasonably stocked kitchen and great size bathroom. The washing machine is outside the property in a little outhouse which is great so you don't have the sound of the spin dryer interrupting you watching tv. The steps up to the front of the property are very steep, so not good if you have mobility issues, but it did tell us that in the particulars. There is also an entrance at the rear which is handy.

Plenty of places to eat in Port Isaac, all with great food, including the chip shop-which cooks to order, so not the fastest, but definitely worth the wait! This property is a great base from which to explore the surrounding area and as you are already half way up the hill - only a short stroll to the car park!

There is a good information pack in the cottage from which we found two amazing beaches.

We stayed at the time when they were filming Doc Martin - two day's right outside the cottage - which we loved - but the disruption may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you decide to pop out for an ice cream down by the harbour and find they've turned the shop into Mrs Tishell's pharmacy.

We like to find new places to stay, but would definitely come back to Creighton Cottage.
