Villa in Alcalali, Jalon Valley, Costa Blanca, Spain - Peaceful Non-Urbanised Location, 10 Minutes Walk To The Village

Our three bedroom villa was built in 2001. We have been the sole owners. There were just two villas built on this site at that time and there are just three other much older houses nearby. We are not on a large urbanisation but access is by way of a tarmacked road which ends 200 metres past the villa. There is no through traffic. The villa is south facing providing all day sunshine and has a large paved area surrounding the private pool and garden. There is a separate patio with BBQ area from where you can sit and quietly watch the sunset over the nearby mountains. Alcalali is a typical Spanish village with bars and small shops. It also has many local restaurants several of which are within easy walking distance. On the edge of the mountains and only half an hour from the coast it is perfectly placed for active pursuits or just relaxing in the sun. The Villa sits in the heart of the lush Jalon Valley where grapes, oranges, lemons, almonds and olives are grown.

About Clive Bradburn

In 2000 my wife Sue and our two friends visited the plot of land where our villa now stands. We fell in love with the site and local area and had a villa built. It was one of just two on that site. There are some older villas nearby but we are not on an urbanisation. Access is via a tarmacked road which ends some 200m past our house. No through traffic- lovely.

Although we live in England, it is our home from home and we regularly visit to enjoy it and keep it in tip top condition.

Why Clive Bradburn chose Alcalalí

We fell in love with the Jalon valley when we first set eyes on it. Miles of orange and almond blossom and of course the grapes for which this area is famous. The villa was built for us in a secluded area in wooded terraces. Whilst we have a few residential neighbours there is no through traffic but access is easy up a narrow but tarmacked road.

Whilst secluded we can stroll down to the village and local restaurants within minutes. With the mountains around us and the sea nearby, we are ideally placed for that perfect holiday.

What makes this villa unique

Peace and quiet but within easy reach of coastal resorts and the mountains gives us the best of all worlds. We regularly visit the villa and over the past few years we have welcomed many friends and other gusts to share our home from home.

Notes on accommodation: All of our furniture and furnishings were chosen to make the villa our home from home. The decoration gives a peaceful Mediterranean ambience. Outside: The large patio is above the road level and secluded by oleander hedging. The garden has an olive and lemon tree and several colourful bushes. The private swimming pool is 8m x 4m and can be easily accessed by means of Roman steps with a central handrail. On the patio there is a large breakfast table with chairs, six sun beds, three sunshades and small tables. A separate small terrace on the west side of the house has a sunbeds with table and a BBQ. There is an outside pool box containing swimming floats and children's pool toys. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels, including beach towels are provided and are changed when the villa is cleaned between each let. Other: The lounge opens onto a covered naya ( balcony) with a breakfast table.

Most beaches are between half and three quarters of an hour’s drive. There is also a diversity of beaches ranging from the several miles of quiet sandy beaches to the North of Denia to the rocky coves near Javea.

Calpe is popular and is about the nearest. The children love it and there is plenty to do. Water sports, canoes and pedaloes are all available and the beach is very clean and safe.


The villa is about one hour twenty minutes drive from either Alicante or Valencia airports. Car hire is essential both to access the villa and to explore the coast and mountains nearby. Specific directions from the airports are provided when a booking is made.


It is only a ten minute walk to Alcalali village and just 2km from Jalon, the centre of the wine growing region and also the nearest large supermarket. On the coast, Denia is a large town and nearby Javea has beaches and a lovely old historical town centre. An hour's drive south is Benidorm with it's well known entertainment and night life. The Terra Mitica Water Theme Park is very popular.

Further Details:

For a break from the pool and beaches, the mountains on our doorstep provide well marked walks and roads up into the hills and small Spanish villages. In a matter of minutes you can be in remote areas away from other tourists, looking down on the green and lush Jalon valley. The area is a magnet for cyclists and out of the hot season, rock climbing is very popular. One of the most famous climbs is within walking distance of our villa. Nearby Bernia Ridge is worth a drive, with a walk around it for the more energetic. The popular Falls at Algar can be reached by foot if you want an all day hike.

Booking Notes:
Bookings can also be made directly through our own personal website www.privatevillacostablanca.com or by contacting us by phone. A £100 deposit to secure a booking is required. Balance payable 6 weeks before departure. Rates include electricity, gas (unless you need to change a cylinder) and water. Villa and beach towels are also included.

Changeover Day:
Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday inclusive, although flexibility may be considered depending on availability. The villa will be available from 4.00pm on arrival day. The house must be vacated by 10.00 am on day of departure.

£100 deposit required to confirm booking. Full payment 6 weeks before let.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
