Apartment in Alto Golf & Country Club, Algarve, Portugal - Peaceful Location Just A Short Walk To Fishing Village Of Alvor And 3 Mile Sandy Beach

2 lovely bedrooms, one with double bed, one with twin beds, both with flat screen TV's and spacious fitted wardrobes. Unlimited broadband Wifi within the apartment. Recently refurbished (2017) two large bathrooms (one en-suite) one with bath, both with shower, bidet and WC. Modern fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer and marble worktops. Open plan lounge with extending dining table for 6, flat screen TV with DVD player, 2 sofas leading to terrace with BBQ, loungers and seating (table & chairs). Satellite TV showing Sky Sports and BBC 1,2, ITV 1 and Channel 4. There is a portable CD and radio player and JBL Bluetooth speaker . Weekly maid service to include complete linen and towel change and clean. All linen, bath towels and separate pool towels provided. Beach towels provided. Car parking in underground garage.

About Nina Parker

The apartment is owned by our family of four, parents and grown up son and daughter, we all work back in the UK but try and get to Portugal as often as possible

We have furnished it as our own home and update it regularly and like to think that it has everything people need to enjoy a relaxing wonderful holiday.

Why Nina Parker chose Portimao region

We first visited Alvor about 10 years ago and fell in love with the village and surrounding area. Alto has the best balance of location, facilities and standards of accommodation and surroundings.

It really does have just about everything you need within walking distance so you do not need a "designated driver" to enjoy the lovely bars and restaurants.

As a golfer my husband takes advantage of the many high quality courses nearby and the discount green fees at Alto Golf

What makes this apartment unique

Relaxing within the beautiful gardens or using either of the pools is what we enjoy and its family atmosphere brings friends and guests back year after year.

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is of a high standard to allow for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Sorry non smoking. Cot, high chair can be arranged at minimal cost Outside: Beautiful view of landscaped gardens. Large sunny terrace from lounge and master bedroom. Terrace furniture comprising 2 sun loungers, table & chairs with Parasol, perfect for alfresco dining watching the sun set. Barbecue. The complex consists of a heated indoor pool with sauna, an outdoor pool and children's paddling pool. Alvor beach is 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car to shaded parking and 3 miles of sand. A wonderful boardwalk offers stunning views of the estuary and beach.

Guests can enjoy free sun loungers and umbrellas subject to availability. There is a choice of many beach front restaurants.

A walk along the beach brings you to the beaches of Tres Irmaoes, Vau and Praia da Rocha.

Alvor is situated in a sheltered estuary on the curving coastline in the Bay of Lagos.


Alvor is a 40/45 minutes drive from Faro airport. Direct transfers can be arranged or Car hire is available from the airport; alternatively car hire can be arranged at discount prices from Alto Club reception, however the close proximity of the beach and village means a car is not absolutely necessary. Reasonable flights may be obtained on the Internet from Easyjet and Air Lingus, Flybe and other airlines.


The busy fishing village of Alvor is a five minute walk from the apartment, with modern shops and top class restaurants offering international cuisine at affordable prices. The colourful and busy daily market, situated in the centre of the village offers freshly caught fish daily, together with meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables. You need to be there early! Relax at the waterfront cafés and enjoy the view of the harbour where you can book boat and fishing trips or visit the town sports centre.

The resort, with landscaped subtropical gardens, pools and waterfalls, overlooks the bay of Lagos. The resort is located in West-Central Algarve within easy access of Portimao and night life in Praia da Rocha.

Alvor has much to offer, tours and boat trips can be organized as well as many activities to include Water parks,surfing, kite surfing, cycling, sailing, horse riding... and many more. The wonderful boardwalk around the estuary and running parallel to the beach is a a great way to see Alvor at its best.

The mountains of Monchique are worth a visit to either walk amongst the cork trees or simply stopping for Chicken Piri Piri at one of the many restaurants with spectacular views.
