About Sue Springbett

Hi we are Bob and Sue and we have lived in Milford for 25yrs. Our house and studio, we think, is in an idyllic spot. We have enjoyed bringing our children up here, our son Tom now lives in Oxford and is a rowing/sports coach, he enjoys cycling and surfing. Our daughter Isabella is at university in Oxford and is a mean netball player. We are always busy, I am a fitness colour consultant and Bob is involved with Hurst Castle. We both enjoy walking, cycling and the village events i.e music and food festivals, local pubs and resturants. We all like to travel and love the warm weather, we tend to go to Europe for some sun but always out of season as we have everything here within walking distance.

Sue Springbett purchased this apartment in 1997

Why Sue Springbett chose New Forest

The area offers so much we have are own village green, (Local events) butchers, deli, grocers, hairdressers, beautician not to mention a variety of pubs, restuarants, cafes and the beach. Keyhaven has its own quay where you can launch your boat and take a ferry to Hurst castle or Yarmouth, IOW, when in season. We have the marshes which is great for bird watchers, artists and walkers alike. There are plenty of walks and things to do in Milford. In the area we are 20 mins from the New Forest and the main Brockenhurst Train Station. We are only 35mins from Bournemouth which boast a lively main town with shops theatres nightclubs and resturants galore. As well as a long golden sandy beach.

We love people staying in our studio so they also can enjoy the fantastic facilities Milford has to offer. The studio offers light and airy accommodation with a feeling of tranquillity, a perfect base all on ground level.

What makes this apartment unique

From Beaches studio we enjoy a lovley outlook of the shingle bank and the Isle of Wight, we are south facing and this is an excellent base all on ground level. We are situated within walking distance of all the facilities that Milford has to offer. If you fancy a pub meal and a few drinks- no taxis needed here. You may like to pick up fish and chips, and sit on the beach of an evening and watch the sunset go down and just meander back. Or get dressed up and visit some of are nice resturants and walk back. Or simply stay in and enjoy a takeaway and sip wine on your patio. We offer off road parking outside the studio and arrangements can be made on request to collect and return from Brockenhurst or local train stations.

Delightful studio apartment in a perfect village...

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week holiday in Beaches Studio. It was just what we were looking for - well appointed, light and airy, and extremely well located. There was loads of storage space which was very helpful as we'd travelled with an extensive range of clothes to cope with the vagaries of the British summer weather! Sue welcomed us with scones and gave us lots of tips on things to do and see, and places to eat.

Milford on Sea is a great location if you enjoy coastal walks and good food (no need to use the car). We'd recommend Inger-Lise's for breakfast (the granola was beautifully presented and the sausage sandwich was really tasty). In the evening there's The Cave for cocktails, G&Ts and tapas. For a dinner treat try La Perle (the cheese and smoked haddock haddock starter was fantastic) or Verveine (imaginative fish menu, relaxed surroundings). And there's also the new Wash House micro ale pub (which has a nice selection of ciders)...

We initially planned on staying in Lymington but are so glad that we found Beaches Studio and Milford on Sea. It was just perfect for us.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Beaches Studio between the 3rd and 10th September the studio had everything you could need for your stay. Bob and Sue made us very welcome and were on hand to give us loads of helpful local information. The studio was comfortable and light with a small patio with a nice view. We certainly will be returning for another holiday

Perfect Studio in idyllic location

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely week discovering villages in the New Forest. Beaches Studio is ideally situated for this. Quiet peaceful location especially if you enjoy birds as its very near a nature reserve. Excellent if you love walking too. Fantastic choice of places where to eat which includes probably the best fish and chips and a Thai restaurant together with lovely pubs and cafes - all within a ten minute walk. Landlords are the perfect hosts. We were greeted with homemade scones upon arrival. Definately recommended.

Thank you Sue and Bob - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Beaches and should we come back to the New Forest it will most certainly be our first choice!

Details for studio are misleading this is converted garage nothing says everything in one room

  • 2 of 5

Everything was available in studio but what was it with only 2of everything in kitchen 2plates,cups,dishes I know there was only the two of us.we couldn't leave the French doors open when asleep and we couldn't open the velux window either as this is above the bed and if it rained well we'd get wet.this is a converted garage and I feel let down by you as well as Sue you should have made this clear in description details not the way you described it. I wouldn't have booked this it was very claustrophobic. To be honest we've stayed in far better places and cheaper.wWe enjoyed the area the walking and places round there. When was the last time you inspected this place? There was a cleaning issue you should inspect between the shower and base there's a small gap between the glass doors the dirt is noticeable I could have cleaned this but it wasn't my place I should have had it clean for me on arrival the grouting on tiles to base tray was going black in places before it's said you can't get into clean between glass doors I could get my fingers between both .i never said anything to Sue as she should have known also had to leave a full rubbish bin as there was no where to empty it into I wasnt happy about this and did say to Sue I was sorry for leaving.Only a dust pan & brush to sweep up only one bin bag you don't go on holiday to clean but I like to leave tidy. Would I book again No. Would I ever stay in a converted garage No. Would I recommend No. Be honest with description as I've said far to dear for a garage cause truth that's what we had. You as a company need to go and do a spot check to inspect unannounced or better still you book it and see what we had.

Owner's Response: Hello Michael and Melissa -I am somewhat surprised by your review 4wks after your stay, as I understood you had enjoyed your time with us in" Beaches Studio "and at no point did you inform us of any of these issues. As we most certainly would have tried to make the changes that were possible for you. If I could suggest if you are unhappy with any feature of future stays, please inform the host, to give them the opportunity to help improve your stay. All the best, Sue and Bob
