About the Owner

Had holiday home on Island for over 30 years, our children always loved their holidays on the Isle of Wight and we enjoyed life here beaches, cafes, bars and the people. When all the children had flown the nest we decided to move here and bought the house next door for our children with their children to enjoy. Now they are buying their own houses in Cowes so we can now let ours out to you.

great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a great property and very well situated, and the views over the Solent are amazing.

Overall the house was well stocked and lovely to have sweets for the kids and essentials like milk, bread and butter provided

Cowes is a great base for the IOW, and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking in this area.

Hope to be back at some stage in the near future!

Great location but needs a bit of TLC

  • 2 of 5

Excellent location, comfortable house, but beds in twin rooms inadequate. Put me ups & day beds of poor quality. It would be better to invest in better mattresses, the only other point is that the bedroom furniture was full of their personal belongings, we lived out of suitcases all week, & with a wedding to go to, it proved difficult, rust microwave and a dirty fridge with salad box missing!

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

Sorry about the delay with this review Sandy but we have just got back to New Zealand!

7 Melbourne Place was our first holiday let of a 9 week trip to the UK & Europe. We loved our 3 night stay here, it was homely, comfortable , very well equipped & amazing value for money! The view was lovely & its closeness to Cowes was fabulous, we could walk in & out easily, usually via the gorgeous water front! My husband is an avid ship spotter & so he was in seventh heaven watching the large ships going past! :-)

Thanks Sandy for a great stay, we really enjoyed meeting you & your husband. Take care :-)

Comfortable, family-friendly holiday home

  • 5 of 5

We had a more than comfortable one-week stay at the house. Sandy was very thoughtful and had kept a hamper for when we arrived (it contained things we really needed at that point!). My kids (8 and 2 yr olds) loved the house, as they had plenty of toys and games to keep them busy. My mum loved the house, as it was peaceful, well-decorated, and had good sea views. The house is conveniently located for exploring the island and it's just two minutes away from the beach. It felt like home away from home, and I am sure I'll return for my next holiday.
