Notes on accommodation: The Villa is Light and Airy with a Large Open plan living space with fantastic views over the Alentejan hills, relaxing and peaceful location. Furnished to a high standard. A great place to Switch off and Relax. Non smoking. Families welcome. Sorry no pets. Maxine our house keeper (English/Portuguese speaking) will meet and greet you at a pre arranged location (owner with inform you on final payment) and take you to the property. Oriklean: Offer a high standard Cleaning Service also a Meet and Greet service. Outside: Outside a Large Enclosed Private pool with steps leading down into the shallow end, accessible from all rooms and bedrooms. Large Patio Area with Sun loungers and Large family dining table with eight chairs and parasol. A portable bbq for outdoor cooking, (care must be taken when bbqing due to fire risk). Extensive grounds with cork and holme oak, and olive trees. Pool is maintained once a week. Children should be supervised at all times. Utility Room: Washing machine, Ironing board/iron. Cleaning utensils should they be required. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included in the price. Cleaning at changeover. Heating is via log burner and portable gas heaters (winter). water, electricity, gas included in the price.

Fantastic villa and pool

We had a very relaxing stay. The villa is in a gorgeous spot, away from it all but still with easy access to Pingo (supermarket), Ourique and the algarve. There was so much indoor and outdoor space. We spent a lot of time just relaxing by the pool, and we all used the pool a great deal at all times of the day. A must for cooling off too as the temperatures were mid-30s the whole time. Thoroughly recommend.

Excellent

This is a lovely modern secluded villa and has all the essentials for a great holiday. Super indoor and outdoor space including a pool, and near enough to the main road to allow for easy and swift travel in all directions. The local supermarket is very well stocked and had everything we wanted including local wines and fish. Mostly we ate out at lunchtime and everywhere was of a high standard. We had planned to do a lot of walking but didn't expect the unusually high temperatures for this time of year, between 25-29 degrees and sunny every day. Instead, we did lots of shorter circuits and went to a different and equally beautiful beach every day. Both teenage sons also had a great time and enjoyed the space of the villa, the wifi, and the beaches, many of which were nearly empty. We could have spent much longer here as there was so much to see, and we really loved the colourful wildflowers, the big night sky, and the bird song in the morning. Some of our favourite walks included the Santa Clara dam, Caldas de Monchique and the coastal footpath at Praia de Albondeira.

It was easy to organize this holiday, the owner responded quickly and we were met by Maxine's husband who escorted us to the property and showed us around.

We would certainly recommend this property to our friends. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Fantastic!

We spent a lovely two weeks at Cerro de Bica. The villa is superb and the photographs, whilst accurate, don't do the villa justice.

Maxine and her husband were excellent and were on hand should we have needed them. The change in laundry after the first week was a lovely surprise!

The large pool and covered outdoor seating area were a boon as the weather was hardly under 38° for our whole fortnight. The outdoor area also great for star gazing in the evening - the milky way was visible most nights!

The booking process and communication with David and Pauline were excellent and very straightforward.

In terms of the local area - Ourique is a lovely small town where the locals were friendly and helpful. The local supermarket has everything that you would need - as others have said the fresh produce and bakery were full of very good produce. We tried the Portuguese delicacy of salted cod and the small custard pastries were delicious.

We flew into Faro on a Sunday and the directions provided were perfect. A nice easy run with good roads up to the villa. The supermarket, Pingo Doce, was open so were able to stock up before we drove out to the villa.

The Algarve coast is worth a visit - although be warned is very busy. We drove down to Portimao (there you will see the traditional geological rocks on the beaches) and further along to Lagos (nice restaurants and shopping).

We also travelled to the west coast visiting the Cabo Sardar viewpoint trail in the national park and Praia da Zambujeira which was lovely, sea had large waves for surfers, nice beach. We had a super lunch at the Ponto &virGula restaurant which serves traditional Portuguese fare along with the "best burgers ever" according to my two teenegers as well as free Wi-Fi!

We also took the opportunity to drive up to Lisbon - just over 2hrs drive on the toll motorway. We went into the city over the bridge and ended up parking quite far from the city centre (in hindsight probably should have used the park and ride car park at the airport). We did however make use of the Lisbon metro, buses and trams with the €6.50 per person a day travel card (similar to London's Oyster card) so were able to see most of the sights of the city.

We would recommend Cerra de Bica as the place to stay to explore the southern regions of Portugal whilst having somewhere to also relax and spend time reading a book in the sunshine!

Overall an excellent holiday was had by all!

Hidden Gem

Lovely secluded villa with peaceful, beautiful surroundings. The pool and outside area are ideal for lazy days lounging in the sun.

Well maintained, clean and modern villa with a excellent layout.

Excellent communication with David and easy hassle free booking, Maxine and her husband on hand if you need anything anytime.

Minutes drive from excellent restaurants or supermarket in Ourique.

Will definitely be booking again - thank you

Fabulous Villa

Fabulous villa, peaceful location with all the necessary amenities.

Not far from the airport, and local town nearby with a supermarket to get all your essentials.

Took a trip to a nearby town where we visited the Roman remains, unfortunately the castle was closed on the day of our visit, although to make up for that we found a lovely cafe and enjoyed a coffee along with a Portugese Egg custard classic! Delicous if I do say so myself.

We thought it was nice to get a call from David the day we arrived to make sure we found it ok. Hope to be back soon!
