Josselin is Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My family of six stayed in the gite in June of this year. I found the gite to be very modern inside, but still retaining some old world charm. The rooms are exceptional and very comfortable. There was plenty of storage for us all, as with kids you have to bring everything. The gite overlooks the chateau which is on the Nantes/Brest Canal and Josselin itself is beautiful. We did lots of touring around as plenty to see and do in the immediate area. Great gite for all the family. The owners were so welcoming and made our stay most enjoyable. This was one of my best holidays in France to date

Nearly Perfect

  • 4 of 5

The gite is perfectly situated to easily walk into Josselin with its lovely choice of shops and restaurants. It has been recently renovated and has an extremely well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area.

Having free wifi was a great bonus which is partly why we chose this property.

There are just a few corrections needed on the description...

There is a lovely view of the chateau but no view of the canal from the gite.

We assumed 'utility room' would contain a washing machine but it doesn't.

The gite is advertised for 6 people but it would be a squeeze for 6 adults. The 3rd bedroom is small and has no storage so it is only really suitable for children. The dining table only comfortably seats 4.

Also, the headroom on the staircase is really low, I'm 5'1" and I only just cleared the ceiling! If you are tall like one of our party you risk banging your head frequently!

We enjoyed our stay regardless but with a few adjustments the gite would be fairly perfect.
