Bayview Escape is a self catering holiday let in Carbis bay with spectacular sea views. It is a spacious and bright four bedroom, three bathroom (one being a shower room) dormer bungalow which will sleep 9 people in comfort. it is located on the seaward side of Carbis bay, just a short walk from the beach, and within easy reach of St Ives. There is a lovely garden, and a very large decked area to the rear of the property. From here you can sit and admire the view across St Ives bay to Godrevy lighthouse, and the town of St Ives. Alternatively, the views can be enjoyed from the conservatory. The property has a lovely open plan lounge/dining room with a wood burning stove for the winter evenings, and spectacular views across the bay. Walking distance to local shops, bars and restaurants. Cot and high chair available. Close to coastal path. Near to children's park. Off-road parking for two cars.

Well behaved dogs are accepted between September and March.

Bayview Escape is an amazing property!

I was pleasantly surprised at the very high standards within the property, everything was perfect. The cleanliness exceptional and your welcome folder very detailed.

The welcome pack you offer your guests was beautifully laid out and the Tassimo coffee machine a great added extra.

The outside area is fantastic and the views to die for.

A perfect home from home.

St Ives has a large selection of bars and restaurants, but if you prefer not to venture too far, there are a few restaurants a short walk from the property. There is a large supermarket, two minutes drive away. Beautiful

We are back home after a wonderful week in this property, I almost don't want to write a review as everyone will want to visit!!!

It's warm, well equipped, a fabulous location, spacious and one of the best rentals in Cornwall we have enjoyed in a long time.

The views are great, I will miss looking over Godrevy lighthouse whilst making the dinner, and sitting on the decking watching the stars come out!

This is a very well appointed house, other than a mop and a small casserole dish (as there were only two of us) I defy you to want anything else.

There were flowers in vase champagne in the fridge , tea (and good tea) milk and Cornish fairings awaiting us on our arrival.😃

I did not have to wash or clean anything before use , towels were fluffy, bedding smelt lovely, loo rolls, washing powder, bin bags, and some dishwasher tablets all left.

It doesn't smell like a rental, is lovely and cosy when it rains ,even though its spacious, the neighbours are really nice and it's such a convenient position. We had two older dogs with us and it's a run down and a steep walk back up from Carbis Bay but only a 10 min drive to our favourite dog beach at Lelant.

Easy to catch the train to St Ives , Penzance etc every 10 mins in the day so you can go for lunch and have a glass of wine without worrying.

David if you want to sell please let us know, and thank you for letting us share a little bit of your Cornwall with us.

Beautiful, well presented property

We stayed at Bayview Escape at the start of July and we had a fabulous holiday. Everything we could have possibly needed or wanted had been thought of. The house was spotlessly clean, well equipped and perfect for our needs. The decking area was used every evening until it was dark and the view across the bay is stunning. The size of the house meant that even with 7 people we never felt that we were on top of each other. The property is close to the beach, train station and supermarket meaning we almost never used the car.

Great holiday home!

We had a lovely week in this property, it was fabulous for 3 generations, with a fantastic outdoor decked area with superb views. All was clean and comfortable and well equipped and appointed, with the exception of the beds. The doubles were sooooo uncomfortable, really hard mattresses. This unfortunately led to us needing to put spare duvets under the bottom sheet to gain some softness. Beware the overzealous cleaning company, who although does a great job cleaning, were clearly annoyed that we were 30 mins late leaving the property, but also did not find the duvets (did they strip the beds?!) and we were accused of taking them with us!!! Would anyone who has left a deposit and addresses etc REALLY steal anything??? Also had to pay for extra cleaning time as we'd left a some breakfast dishes and mugs in the dishwasher, thinking in our rush to be out, that the cleaners would blitz the kitchen and probably need to put it on whilst they were there. We would have pressed the switch ourselves if we'd thought for a minute they would be so petty.

In addition, the rubbish bin was 2/3 full when we arrived and collection day was not until thurs. this meant we had bagged rubbish piled up in the kitchen for most of the holiday, as you couldn't leave it out due to the seagulls. There were no recycling bins either. So the cleaning company apparently paid to have some rubbish taken away!!! This would be easily sorted by the owner, by providing a further bin and recycling container. This spoilt the end of our holiday, but we would still recommend it as long as you take mattress overlays, and make trips to the dump whilst on holiday.

Owner's Response: We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday. The mattresses are of a high quality and are of medium firmness (we have to try to cater for the average person). The beds are stripped down to the mattresses after every visit. We are inspected by the Tourist Board annually, and our housekeepers have a 100% 5 star record. Their objective is that there should be "no trace of former guests after every visit". On occasion (fortunately rare) this will require bringing in additional staff, especially if they are unable to access the property at the agreed departure time. We are reviewing the re-cycling arrangements.

Driving - Use the motorway network to travel south west, join the M5 southbound to Exeter, from Exeter take the A30 towards Penzance. At Hayle leave the A30 and follow the signs to St Ives and Carbis Bay.

By Rail - Nearest national rail network station is St Erth [SER] change trains at St Erth to Carbis Bay station [CBB] located on the St Ives branch line. Alternatively the Apartment is a 4 mile taxi ride from St Erth.

By Air - Nearest airport is Newquay approx 30 miles from the property.

Further Details:

Bayview Escape is located in Carbis Bay which is on the outskirts of St Ives. As the town itself can get very busy, we feel that it is ideal to have the ability to access St Ives very easily, but still be able to escape the hustle and bustle.

A 5 minute walk down the hill from the property takes you to Carbis Bay train station from where you can take a scenic journey along the coastline into the town.

A 5 minute walk to the top of the hill, and you can take the bus into town.

Alternatively there is a lovely 40 minute walk along the coast path.
