Villa in Alcalali, Jalon Valley, Spain - Modern villa with pool in peaceful location, spectacular views, fully air-conditioned, sleeps 6/8.

Set into the hillside on a small cul-de-sac and with stunning views over the mountains and the beautiful Jalon valley the villa offers comfortable family accommodation. All rooms are air-conditioned with a ceiling fan in main bedroom. Easy steps lead to private pool with steps into the water and sun bathing area partly shaded by a sail, and again beautiful views. The area is noted for its variety of good restaurants with several within walking distance, although the walk back is up a steep hill. The safe, superb sandy beaches of Calpe, Moraira, Denia and Javea are all a short drive away. The area comprises several typical Spanish villages with bars, restaurants, supermarket and shops. Golf clubs at Javea, La Sella and Moraira. Benidorm theme parks including Terra Mitica, Terra Natura and Aqualandia Water Park & Wilf Life Park are 50 mins. drive away. Historic Guadalest and water pools and waterfalls are 30 mins. drive away. Outside terraces with table, chairs, bbq and washing line.

About the Owner

We had the villa built in 2005 as a holiday for ourselves and our family and spent the following summers there with children and grandchildren. Now the grandchildren are all at university we have decided to leave the villa free during the summer months. We have spent many happy holidays there and continue to enjoy the delightful area and exceptional views. We are very fortunate to have so many good restaurants within a short walk or drive, and plentiful supplies of fresh produce and good cheap wine in such a beautiful part of Spain. With blue flag beaches a short drive away combined with the tranquillity of the situation for us it is the perfect holiday location. Whether you wish to laze by the pool, walk through the orange groves, or the up the mountains there is plenty for everyone.

Great Family Villa

A group of seven of us stayed at Casa Cropper last week and had a great time and I agree fully with the other reviews here. There was plenty of room for all and adequate sun beds around the pool. The view across the Jalon Valley is spectacular and there as always something to watch. The Villa is very well appointed and certainly had all the items we required for cooking and barbecuing. I strolled down into Alcalali a couple of times for a beer in Bar Tony. Served almost frozen when the temperature was nudging 40 - perfect! There is a shortcut there and back taking a small footpath through the pine trees at the bottom of the road, across to the little church and straight down. 10 minutes there and 15 back if you are reasonably fit. I have posted some photographs on Flickr of the villa and the local amenities of Alcalali and Xalo.

Fabulous villa, beautiful views

We had a lovely holiday at Casa Cropper, the villa is very clean and exactly as described, well laid out with good quality fixtures and fittings.

The pool is very inviting, beach towels supplied (fantastic) air conditioning a blessing and the views are absolutely stunning!

The Coast is about 30 minutes drive, lovely places to eat on the Calpe to Moraira Road (The Lowry).

Communication with the owners is second to none!

Wonderful location, wonderful villa !

Simply the best villa we have ever rented in over 10 years of doing so - perfect location, perfect villa, perfect holiday ! extremely clean, comfortable and well laid out accommodation - the pool and outdoor space is excellent - as too is the separate apartment - perfect for extended family. Good quality fixtures and fittings. Local amenities sufficient for short term needs and a big shopping centre a short drive away . local restaurants in nearby Jalon were good. Will take about 20 mins to reach the beach but with the great pool this is not a big issue ! Thanks to June - hope to visit again in the future,

Coast/Beach:

Approx. 15-20 mins drive to the safe, sandy beaches of Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia. Super snorkelling at Calpe, Grenadella beach south of Javea and Les Rotas beaches in Denia.

Travel:

Alicante airport is approx. 1 hour's drive, Valencia approx. 1 and a half hour's drive. Car hire is essential for sightseeing to the mountain stronghold town of Guadalest, the stunning mountain waterfalls at Callosa, and to access mountain walks and views.

Distances:

Moorish village of Alcalali with church, tower, square, shops, restaurants, etc. 10 mins walk. Historic market town of Jalon 5mins drive, villages of Parcent, Lliber, Orber approx. 10 mins drive. Calpe 20 mins. Javea 30 mins. Denia 25 mins. Altea 30 mins. Benidorm and theme parks 40 mins drive. Alicante 1 hour, Valencia 1 and a half hours.

Further Details:

Alcalali has small market every Friday morning, shops, bakery, hairdresser, bars and restaurants. Large supermarket in Jalon with wide selection of groceries, vegetables, fresh fish, meats and cheeses. Also large Saturday morning Rastro market, banks, restaurants, hairdressers, bodegas selling good cheap wine with tasting facilities, chemists, clothes shops. Large open-air market each Tuesday morning where you can buy local produce. Good charity shops in Jalon and Alcalali with good selection of second-hand books and clothes, etc.

Outside: There are sun loungers and cushions and plastic chairs, a shade sail over part of the sunbathing area. Terrace with table and chairs to seat up to 8 people with sun umbrella and bbq. Further terrace with chairs and washing line. The pool has easy steps into the water and shower room with wash basin and wc. A side terraced area has steps down to a lime and lemon tree. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels (including beach towels), and all linen included. Property is cleaned after each rental with a weekly linen and towel change.
