About samantha Maye

This property is our second/holiday home. We have visited Derbyshire many times over the years and love it so much we decided to invest in our own property in the area. We have furnished the cottage in a comfortable and homely manner as it is not just a holiday let it is our much loved holiday home.

samantha Maye purchased this cottage in 2011

Why samantha Maye chose Amber Valley District

We love the views, the peace and quiet and the lovely countryside walks. The village of Milford has a lovely community feel and is within easy reach of Belper and Derby for shopping trips. Carsington water, Matlock, Dovedale and Ashbourne are a short drive away making this area an ideal base for visiting many of the beautiful places within the peak district.

What makes this cottage unique

The views from the cottage over the Derwent valley are stunning in both winter and summer.

Lovely cottage!

We had a lovely few days at Maye cottage with our 8 month old and 3 yr old. The place was cozy and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

Lovely

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely few days away at this charming cottage. I didn't realise the bathroom was downstairs but it wasn't a problem. There was everything you needed there and Samantha was more than helpful and obliging before our arrival. We would go back again if in the area

Clean, quite comfortable but with some issues

  • 3 of 5

The cottage was clean, characterful with nice big bedrooms and a sweet galley kitchen which had everything needed. The bathroom was a disaster, it smelt, there was no proper bath and as I have a bad back almost impossible. No one with a baby or young child could bath them in it. The smoke alarms were so sensitive that making toast without them going off was not possible

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comment and I am sorry to hear that you had some issues with the cottage. The photo of the bathroom does show a non-conventional bath tub but there have never been any issues with it before and some people like the quirkiness of it. It was cleaned by me before you arrived so I cannot comment about the smell it was Ok when I left it. The cottage is advertised as not really suitable for people with mobility problems and young children, although families with young children have stayed there and enjoyed their stay. The smoke alarm is fairly sensitive but was installed professionally as a safeguard to visitors.
