About the property

Ski Apartment for 4/6 persons

I have two apartments (see captions on Photos to see to which apartment the photo relates) in Olympie 1. I also am friends with various neighbours and can potentially find other apartments.

Apartment 7 is a studio apartment that sleeps 2 in the living area and up to three in a triple bunk bed in an alcove. It is perfect for families with three children.

Apartment 2 is a one bedroom apartment that can sleep up to 6 people. It has a separate bedroom with a double bed along with sleeping for two in the living room and two in bunk beds in an alcove.

The apartments are small but they really are in the most perfect location for skiing. The chalet residence, Olympie 1 is at "resort level" and so is right by the central lifts. You can ski into the residence from the West side of the valley and it is about 80 metres to one of the two main lifts in Mottaret. In addition the residence is has ski hire shops, restaurants and supermarket immediately you walk out the front door.

The resort Mottaret is in my opinion the best located resort in the Three Valleys. It is at the top of the Meribel Valley which in turn is the central valley of the Three Valleys. So it has better access to the widest range of snow-sure skiing than anywhere else.

For beginners, Mottaret has north facing snow sure nursery slopes and it is easy to ski down (a green run) to Meribel and its nursery slopes. It has three moving carpets (one covered) which are great for toddlers and absolute beginners. It also has a new fun run for beginners.

For intermediate skiiers: It is quicker to reach the top of either Courchevel or Meribel (Saulire) from Mottaret. It is just two ski lifts to reach Val Thorens or Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville. Basically more skiing than one can dream of.

I have owned my apartment in Mottaret for fifteen years. I chose the apartment because of its location. I now have three children who are all good skiers and love staying in the bunk beds in the apartment.

Why William Gurney chose Meribel

I went on a road trip with a friend on the summer to find the perfect ski apartment. We went to Chamonix, Morzine, Les Gets, Val D'Isere and Meribel. I chose this apartment because it was right in the centre so you could ski all parts of the Three Valleys all the time. Now we ski as much in Courchevel and Val Thorens as we do in the Meribel Valley.

What makes this apartment unique

Having spent a few holidays in expensive chalets that described themselves as "just minutes" from the slopes and found one needed a taxi, bus or a long walk to get to the slopes I wanted something really convenient. So as well as being next to the slopes we are above the shops - supermarket, ski hire shops and restaurants.

I also thought it would be good to be right next to the kindergarden, but my children outgrew that in no time at all!

Distances:

The apartment is in the centre of Meribel Mottaret. There is a green run down to Meribel Centre. Courchevel can be accessed within twelve minutes via the Pas du Lac lift. Les Menuires is accessed directly via the Plattieres lift. Val Thorens is accessed via the Plattieres lift and then Cote Brune chair lift.

Further Details:

There is a number of restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket all within metres of the apartment.
