Beautifully appointed lodge in superb location.

  • 5 of 5

The property is well- maintained and very clean. It is well equipped with everything needed, including linen and towels which were changed after the first week of our two week stay. It is extremely well equipped with two TVs and DVD players (one with Sky) and plenty of dvds to chose from as well as books, games, jigsaws etc for those wetter days. Also provided are beach chairs, games, crabbing gear, body boards etc . It is situated in the best position on the Penstowe site, with spectacular westfacing views across the countryside to the sea giving some amazing sunsets. The owner was extremely helpful when we had a minor problem with a light fixture which he arranged to be fixed immediately . Local town Kilkhampton has supermarkets, two pubs, both serving food and a fish and chip shop. Penstowe site also has restaurants and the brilliant 'Pizza Ape' takeaway on site. Facilities at Penstowe include free use of an outdoor pool, the indoor pool, sports hall and gym cost extra. Nearest beach Sandymouth is fantastic although check tide times as there is very little there at high tide.

Highly recommended, family friendly and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed an absolutely great time at coombe view. A great location to access many of the attractions in the cornwall and devon area.

The cosy feel of the place kept us all comfortable during a rather wet day.

We were impressed with the information and facilities provided and are grateful for the effort and care taken to make our stay with our two kids enjoyable and stress free.

We witnessed a beautiful sunset on our last night and hope we get the opportunity to return again soon as we have fallen in love with coombe view.

Thank you for the great memories.

Lovely clean lodge on quiet site with superb views. Everything was thought out and we did not want for anything! We had a lovely few days and even the teenagers quite enjoyed having no wifi for a few days a good detox for us all! Thanks Roger for answering all my questions we will definitely be returning again.

Owner's Response: Thank you Claire, you did say before you arrived that the teenagers might miss their "devices" but there is so much to do on site and in the area that even detoxing can be painless!

Amazing, why aren't other holiday places like this?

  • 5 of 5

This lodge has everything and more, well furnished with lots of little extras and the view, especially when there is a sunset, is breathtaking.

The evening entertainment was a "wow" with our grandchildren (9 and 6), an indoor swimming pool and all that this area of Cornwall has to offer made our stay a real holiday.

We are checking school holiday dates for next year to return (want to get in quick)

Excellent property, top class.

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with the location and the standard of the finish inside the property. The owner had thought of everything and we wanted for nothing. Communication was quick and clear; again, we were dealing with professionals - who also had a sense of humour. Would stay there again in an instant. Many thanks for a relaxing break.
