Accommodation all on the ground floor, assisted wheelchair friendly, comprising of kitchen/diner, living room/dining room, 2 large bedrooms, good sized bathroom with shower, storeroom for bicycles, golf, fishing gear etc. Large enclosed garden. A super base for exploring the stunning scenery of the Northern Highlands with beautiful Glen Affric and Strathglass close by-both designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An abundance of wildlife can be seen, such as Red Kites, Buzzards, red squirrels and Roe Deer. Inverness, Loch Ness, the stunning West Coast and Isle of Skye are all within easy reach. Hill walking, fishing, golf, dolphin watching all available nearby. A good variety of shops, hotels, takeaways and restaurants and a bus and train service run from Beauly, a pretty village (past winners of Britain in Bloom), just 12 miles west of the City of Inverness.

My husband and myself have both recently retired and live next door to Burnside Croft with our two retired racing greyhounds, so we would be on hand to receive our guests and be able to give any advice or help to make their holiday as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

Wonderful location, lovely cottage and warm welcoming hosts!

We had a lovely stay in Beaully, so much to see and do locally and further afield. Scotland is beautiful! June and Bob are perfect hosts and do what they can to make your stay a good one. They doggysat our Spanish rescue dog, so we could go snowboarding, need I say more? We will definitely return when we go to Scotland again and can think of no better place to stay than this. Thanks for everything The Wythe family

Lovely cottage

The cottage was spotless and well equipped. June and Burt were very welcoming and happy to help. The cottage is in a central position for exploring the area. My 2 boys really enjoyed themselves.

Amazing stay.

Our time in the cottage was absolutely fantastic, the cottage had everything you could need and the our hosts were lovely. Amazing location with the forest at your front door and only a short drive to the town. Will definitely be booking back as soon as we can.

A Real Home from Home

We had a wonderful 4 nights get away. They say first impressions are important and that is true as far as I am concerned. We were met by our hosts and you couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome than what we received. Such a lovely genuine couple and so accommodating and one got the feeling straight away that they really cared and wanted us to be comfortable and to enjoy our stay. They were around and available the whole time we were there but never in a way that we felt our privacy was being invaded. June and Bob thank you for caring. Such a lovely cottage. Warm and comfortable and so spacious and absolutely perfect for us as we had our disabled daughter with us and she is confined to her wheelchair. We find it very difficult to get away with her unless we have beforehand actually been to see the place and of course that is difficult. We have to rely on feedback such as this when we are looking for a wheelchair friendly and pet friendly place to stay. So I am still going to give this place 5 stars because I do think that is what it is worth and in fact if you don't have a wheelchair it is probably worth 10 stars!! but I am going to suggest to June and Bob that they mention in their advertising that the place is "assisted wheelchair friendly" as it really was a bit difficult getting the electric wheelchair in and I must admit my heart sunk when I saw that the entrance into the cottage was going to mean we might have to leave the electric wheelchair in the van and use the manual one which we had fortunately also brought with. Our daughter is 45 years old and not being able to use her electric wheelchair would have meant relying on us 100% for everything even such things as going to the loo!! Anyway, good old Bob he did come up with a sort of a solution and we did get the chair in but still it would have been better had we not had the initial hassle.

Still, I am NOT going to take away anything from the fact that Burnside Cottage is a beautiful relaxing place to stay with beautiful surrounds and such an easy place to use as a base if you want to explore Inverness and further. If you have children (or a dog like we had) there is a lovely little garden to run around in. There is a huge trampoline and swings and I remember going on holiday with my 4 children when they were young and I would have given my back teeth to have stayed in a place like this. So - thank you Bob and June and honestly we hope to see you both in the future. Thank you.
