About the property

In the middle of the country. WIFI. Swimming Pool 10x5. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom.

Can Safra has, for more than 200 years, been witness to the rural life of a Mallorca that was very different from the island we know nowadays. Originally inhabited by farmers, it has been recently renovated to retain its original agricultural character, while at the same time providing a high standard of comfort for the duration of our clients’ stay.

The house has 2 bedrooms for a total of 4 people, one is a double room and the other one has 2 single beds. The finca is surrounded by several acres of trees which provide intimacy to both the garden and the private swimming-pool. The property also possesses a traditional, Mallorcan windmill.

General

Situated in the south-east of Majorca, Can Safra is a secluded farmhouse that offers two double bedrooms. It can accommodate a maximum of 4 people and is ideal for small families looking to enjoy the essence and tranquillity of Majorca at its most authentic and traditional. It features a private swimming pool and outside terrace, and is surrounded by trees typically found in Majorca. WiFi is available inside and outside the whole house. An elegant windmill presides over the garden.

Outside

Outside, it has an ideal terrace for enjoying an evening meal, a 10m x 5m swimming pool and a laundry area with washing machine. And surrounding it all in close proximity is a garden that features native plants and trees (such as the traditional prickly pears, pines and honeysuckle).

A traditional Majorcan windmill, with stone built tower, stands over the whole area.

Bedrooms

It has two double bedrooms: one with double bed and one with two single beds. Both are decorated in a traditional style with antique furniture made from wrought iron.

We provide sheets, blankets and towels.

Kitchen

The kitchen at Can Safra includes fridge, freezer, butane gas hobs, electric oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. And if you want to cook, you'll find a full range of crockery and utensils: dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, etc.

Rest of the house

There is a living room with two 2-person sofas and a television set (free satellite channels are available). WiFi is available all over the house.

The house has two bathrooms: one with a bathtub, the other with a shower.

12 km from the nearest beach and 5 km from the town. Situated in an area that radiates peace and tranquillity in the heart of the countryside, but with ready access to everything you need.

FINCAS WITH HISTORY

Previously home to farmers, our fincas are between 60 and 200 years old. Our grandparents lived in them, and now it's our turn to look after these traditional farmhouses.

FAMILY FINCA

Can Safra finca is owned and directly run by the Matas-Barcelós family. We offer a friendly, informal and direct service with no intermediaries or agencies.

RURAL SETTING

With its setting, location and history, Can Safra epitomises 20th-century Majorca at its most rural.

IMPORTANT: This finca has full legal rights to be rented under license number 373 from the Government of Illes Balears.

The property is located in Son Negre. It is a small rural district located in the deep Mallorca and whose main characteristic is the countryside, its traditional agricultural houses and a small nucleus with a small church of more than 200 years old.

The environment is very quiet and pleasant and is located in the southeast of Mallorca just 5 kilometers from the nearest town: Felanitx, with 20,000 inhabitants.

Very close (2 kilometers) you can visit some wineries and international vineyards such as Ànima Negra or horse tours.

Son Negre is just 15 minutes drive from the most famous coastal areas: Es Trenc, Portocolom, Portopetro, Cala Mondragó or Cala d'Or.

Wonderful Holiday!

This villa was the perfect home for our holiday. MY mum, dad, boyfriend and myself did 8 days here in June - it was my first holiday in 4 years and having just finished university wanted a nice relax - we found the perfect place! Everything you need is available in the villa - it is a bit out of the way and a car is definitely essential but as long as you don't mind a bit of a drive to get places, this villa is fine. We spent a lot of time lying by the fabulous pool - definitely a sun trap!

Fransisco was extremely helpful while booking the villa, and throughout our stay we knew we could contact him if we needed anything. On arrival there was a bowl of fresh fruit and a freshly made cake waiting on the kitchen table. Everything was extremely clean and we didn't feel the need to have to wash everything before we used it (as we have done at other places!)

The only criticisms we had were the furniture in the lounge (it was not the most comfortable of sofas and you were unable to 'lounge' on it at night. Also, because there were the four of us, there was always one person who had to sit on a dining room chair as there wasn't enough space) and the lack of air conditioning (some nights were a bit uncomfortable).

Overall this was a wonderful holiday and we would definitely visit again!

We went to Portopetro a couple of nights throughout the week and can definitely recommend the Restaurant Es Bergant, and also Capri Bar and Restaurant in Puerto de Pollensa. Worth a visit!
