About Elizabeth Chapman

Liz and Rob live at the Lodge at the entrance to the estate minutes from the cottages so are always on hand to help guests, but without being intrusive. Our family consists of two adult children, one living in Looe and three grandchildren. We are very keen walkers(and bar snacking!) and know the area well so have plenty of advice for guests exploring this area. Liz is a keen gardener hence winning first prize for the gardens at the cottages for 4 years running from the local tourist board. She takes a great interest in the interior design and furnishing of the cottages. Rob is a keen sailor and knows the coastline well. He has plenty of suggestions for hidden coves and beaches.

Elizabeth Chapman purchased this cottage in 1992

Why Elizabeth Chapman chose South East Cornwall

We were very fortunate that the coach houses came up for sale as having lived in the Manor for most of her life, Liz knew and loved the property so well. Rob, being an experienced builder sympathetically and professionally converted the buildings to a very successful holiday cottage business.

We are based minutes from the beaches, restaurants and buzz of Looe but set on a country estate where peace abounds

What makes this cottage unique

All the cottages have ample parking and are set and designed to give each family privacy with peace apart from the sounds of the country. We have amazing wildlife at Trenant including kingfishers on the ponds, egrets, ducks and one very tame fish called Thomas! Sparrows and wrens nest in the creeper climbing up the walls of the cottages.

Occasionally there are cattle in the parkland lazily chewing the cud!

Our cottages are very safe for children and pets being well away from any roads. There is plenty of outside space with lawns and grounds for playing or just strolling or sunbathing. Each cottage has its own private garden with quality garden furniture

Lady Pamela's Cottage - A Real Gem!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cottage, one of five in a peaceful and picturesque location just outside Looe (2 minutes by car). It's ideal either as a base to explore the area or to spend the entire time relaxing in.

The fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, king sized bedroom and bathroom were all immaculately clean, and the cream tea and fresh flowers on arrival were a very nice touch.

There is allocated parking and a fenced garden and deck area outside the cottage, plus a larger landscaped lawn area shared with the other cottages that your dog and / or children can play in.

The hosts, Liz, Lucy and Rob, were a perfect balance of friendly and welcoming, available to assist if required, yet unobtrusive.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Trenant Park Cottages and hope to return in the future.

Beautiful - setting perfect for a short peaceful stay

  • 5 of 5

Cottage small and compact but just perfect for two and an absolute delight - drive up from the main road is via an single track - but when you get to the top it opens out into a truly beautiful setting - so peaceful and quite. Cottage itself was everything you could ask for and with everything you needed for a short break

A Kingfisher's Dream

  • 5 of 5

Loved this place, we went in May, one of my favourite months, but this cottage was just perfect and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. Lovely sense of community - book it you won't be diss appointed !

Owner's Response: Thank you for this lovely review Andy, and we loved the title! I caught a glimpse of the kingfisher's flash of blue darting across the pond this morning as I was walking Bruce, of course, no camera to hand!

Fabulous location & hosts

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay if you're looking for quality, secluded accommodation set in lovely countryside close to the coast and activities.

The cottage is well furnished and the hosts are extremely responsive to all requests for local information, additional extras such as food deliveries, and so forth. The Wi-Fi signal was not brilliant, but my guess is this will have been remedied by now.

Very secluded location up a long track (a car is required). 5 cottages are set in communal gardens with walks from the door. It's 10 minutes by car to the pretty coastal town of Looe. and the South Downs Way. We recommend the cliff walk from Looe to Polperro (takes a leisurely 2 hours).

Really enjoyed our stay here, and particularly enjoyed meeting our hosts who were extremely hospitable. Great place to bring dogs who can run freely in the grounds.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this great review Susie, we enjoyed meeting and chatting with you both. We are pleased you enjoyed our award winning gardens and grounds which we keep manicured with the help of our gardener, Alex, we are already planning planting for next year. Our guests appreciate having a private garden with their cottage and also the extensive gardens for exercising dogs and children! We never sit still and we are about to think about the annual decorating of the cottages for 2014. Jane's delicious 'meals to the door' service is still very popular, she receives many compliments! We continue to welcome our guests with a Cornish cream tea and flowers.
