Casa Miguel is a modern, light and airy town house, which is furnished and equipped to a high standard including a newly installed kitchen and air conditioning to the ground and first floors. The house is ideal for both families and couples. It is well equipped with all the facilities of a proper home including a fitted kitchen with granite worktops, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher, cable TV with BBC and ITV channels and DVD player. The house boasts two south facing terraces and a lovely garden providing views of the sea, mountains and Nerja town. The garden is lawned and has a built in BBQ. The house is approx 300m from two communal pools, including a children's pool. Nerja town is approx 1.5km away and can be reached either by road or along the beach (approx 20 minute walk). Both routes are lit at night.

About the Owner

I am a retired teacher from Yorkshire and have been visiting Nerja over the last 30 years with my family. My two daughters are now grown and are both carrying on the tradition of raising their families on holidays in Nerja! My two daughters and I are jointly responsible for the running of A32 Casa Miguel. Over the past 30 years we have seen the town grow into a popular tourist destination. We continue to love the place as it has not lost the feel of the small fishing town that we experienced when we first visited. Nerja is a place where you can still observe and experience real Spanish family and community life - you only have to watch the local community come together at the many fiestas that take place throughout each year.

Winter Stay in Casa Miguel

My partner and I have stayed at Casa Miguel villa on the Tropicana urbanization for several winters and have enjoyed a relaxing holiday in this delightful, comfortable and clean terraced villa...The property is very well maintained and is equipped with everything that you may need for a self catering holiday. The Villa has a private garden with uninterrupted mountain views, along with a large covered terrace downstairs, and an upstairs terrace which is accessed from the main bedroom...The villa has excellent local amenities including a communal swimming pool in the summer months, and a restaurant bar which is within walking distance of the villa... Also the Marinas hotel is only ten minutes walk away and offers the use of it's facilities to non residents, including meals and drinks on an all inclusive basis for a set price of €15...

The Villa is ideally situated for visiting Nerja, Torrox and Frigiliana either by car, or you can catch the local blue bus into Nerja for €1, and from there the National bus service will take you further afield ..... both Almunecar & Malaga are within easy reach...

I would have to honestly say that our holidays in this property have been some of the best that we have had, and allowed us the freedom to visit our favourite part of Spain whilst having all the comforts of home. The owners have always been very obliging and helpful, and dealt with our Email booking promptly... The Couple who deal with the Cleaning and maintenance of the property live quite close by and are happy to help in any way they can to make your stay a pleasant one..... Over all a great place to stay, highly recommended! Thank you.....

FIrst Visit to Nerja-Not to be our last

The property was everything it promised to be, Very Well equipped and clean. Lovely quiet development, close to beach and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.Lovely views. Would recommend to friends. Good for families and couples. Nerja town beautiful, everything I had hoped to find. Owners provided information and payment was no problem. Thank you

Location

As a family we were introduced to Nerja by an old friend. After spending a couple of holidays on Urbanisation Tropicana, including spending one Christmas there, we were impressed with the friendliness of the urbanisation, the large pool and the proximity to a quiet beach. We feel that the location of Tropicana is ideal as it is a quiet area on the outskirts of Nerja, however it is easy to either walk along the beach, use the regular bus service or drive into the town. When I visit, one of my favourite ways to spend the day is to walk into Nerja along the quiet beach road, stop for a coffee on the Balcon De Europa, in the town, and watch the world go by, then stop off on the beach for a plate of locally cooked paella, before having a dip in the pool and relaxing in the garden!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The coast is approximately 5 minutes walk from the villa. In addition, there are beach chairs available for use on the beach on the first floor terrace.

Travel:

Malaga airport is 45 minutes by car via the new motorway. There are various reasonably priced car rental firms at the airport. There is a bus service from the airport to Nerja via Malaga bus station. The bus stops outside Hotel Marinas De Nerja, opposite the Tropicana Urbanisation.

Distances:

The town centre of Nerja is less than 1.5km away (5 mins drive). Alternatively, you can either walk along the coastal road or beach to the town centre in around 15/20 mins (both routes are lit at night), or use the bus service which runs regularly from Hotel Marinas De Nerja, opposite Tropicana urbanisation. Granada is 1 hour by car, Malaga is 45 mins, and Marbella around 1.5 hours, and Gibraltar around 2.5 hours. The beautiful 15th century mountain village of Frigiliana is only 15 mins away.

Further Details:

Nerja is the ideal holiday destination with something for everyone. With pretty winding streets full of white washed properties it is a wonderful place. The best place to sit and watch the world go by, both day and night is the Balcon De Europa in the centre of Nerja town. Walk to the end during the day to see the fantastic views of the coast and Mediterranean sea or sit at one of the many bars during the evening and soak up the atmosphere. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars in the area many of which offer alfresco dining. There are many small beaches along the coast, however the largest is situated on the other side of Nerja to the villa and is called the “Burriana Beach”. You will find many restaurants and cafés along this beach including "Ayo" where you can watch the chef preparing a huge paella over an open fire every day (situated at the end of the beach furthest from town). Many of the locals eat here at the weekend and it is a good source of entertainment!

Nerja caves are worth visit and are situated between Nerja and Maro. The village of Maro is quaint and the beaches are very good. The Moorish village of Frigiliana is a short drive towards to mountains and is full of character as depicted in its narrow streets and white washed houses. The restaurants are good in both in the village of Frigiliana and the hills beyond. One of our favourites is “El Cerro” where the food is excellent, the views are stunning and it even has its own pool, which is filled during the summer months. Granada is well worth a visit and is about 2 hours drive away. The road is good and the views spectacular. The Alhambra Palace, built by the Moors is the main attraction. If you are planning a visit it is however advisable to purchase a ticket in advance from the BBV bank within Nerja.

Tennis is available at the Hotel Marinas de Nerja opposite the urbanisation. Book in advance at the hotel - price as at June 2013 is 15 euros per hour.

Booking Notes:
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total price is payable upon booking. A security deposit of £175 is required, to be paid with the final balance, both due 6 weeks prior to arrival date. The security deposit will be refunded following return of the keys and confirmation that no loss or damage was caused to the property or its contents and that the BBQ and grill have been cleaned (see Outside section above in relation to cleaning the BBQ). There is a key safe for collection/return of keys.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually a Saturday, however this is flexible.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Discounts for long winter lets and higher prices during peak times (i.e. school holiday periods, Christmas, Easter).

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.

Casa Miguel is situated in a quiet location within Tropicana. It boasts a private garden and terraces with built in BBQ. Furnishings in the house have recently been improved to give a light, bright and modern feel. The house is very well equipped with everything you will need to have a very enjoyable holiday, for example Cable TV, flat screen TV & DVD player, microwave and washing machine etc. The house is well situated for Nerja's beaches and the town in addition to exploring the surrounding area, which includes the beautiful mountain village of Frigiliana, neighbouring coastal towns of Torrox, Torre Del Mar & Maro and places further afield such as Granada and Malaga.
