About the Owner

We bought the property in 2001. At the time our 4 children ranged from age 2 - 6, so it was a way of getting out of the city at weekends and holidays and spending time by the sea.

Brilliant holiday house

  • 5 of 5

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Clean and tidy. Lovely garden for dogs, small and big boys to play in. All mod cons. Close to the sea but easier to get to by car if you have small children. The restaurants are excellent, but book in plenty of time. But the best was lighting the fire in the evening and sitting with a glass of wine. Fantastic!!

Very comfortable cottage with a great garden and location

  • 5 of 5

This is our third stay at Calderbrooke Cottage and we found it to be well equipped and very comfortable. The garden is fantastic with loads of space and as we had fine weather we were able to make the most of it. It is well located for coastal walks and a short walk from the centre of St Agnes which is well served by local shops/pubs/restaurants etc. Elizabeth was very helpful and we would definitely recommend it especially if you have younger children. We hope to be back!

Spacious comfortable cottage ideal for a family

  • 5 of 5

St Agnes is a quaint friendly village with all the essential shops within walking distance of the cottage(eg butcher, baker, newsagent and village stores) as well as a small number of pubs and restaurants. The cottage is well equipped and ideal for families(two sitting rooms allow adults peace and quite in the one with no TV whilst our teenagers enjoyed watching DVD's in the other. They also enjoyed the Wi-Fi ) especially the garden which is lovely, the photos don't do it justice. (we would have loved to have used the BBQ but unfortunately the Cornish weather was against us) The nearest beach is a pleasant 20 minute walk. The whole area is a walkers paradise. Horse riding and surfing lessons are available in nearby Perranporth. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage (our Irish setter dog also had a great time ,dogs by arrangement) and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

Just wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third visit to this lovely cottage and as usual we all had a wonderful holiday. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and is so comfortable. Its proximity to the village Tennis Club is a bonus for us as is being able to walk into St Agnes in less than 10 minutes where there are some very good restaurants and bars. The huge garden which is very well maintained provides the perfect setting for a family BBQ. We can't wait to return!

St Aggie's retreat

  • 5 of 5

Was pleasantly surprised on arrival on size of garden.A huge asset if you have a young family. Our only worry was that the neighbours had taken some fencing down making it not quite as enclosed as you might like with more active dog than ours.It was clean but a bit cobwebby which I guess you get more in older properties but when you are a wimp like me ,I was on the look out for 8 legged friends! It's a wee hike to beach, but you get used to that in Cornwall.St.Agnes is a great base to be and you can explore a lot locally. Our teenagers were happy to stay local as lots to do for them.Fab places to eat.Our fave flat white was deffo at Taste in village.Schooners was surprisingly good too.We would recommend this property to friends and Elizabeth has been helpful at all times

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

We selected this cottage as a base for a walking holiday. St Agnes is a lovely village and the cottage was not only a perfect base for our walking holiday, but also a great place to stay and relax. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. There is a very large garden, which is well laid out and maintained. We would stay at the cottage again.
