The Beehouse is a beautifully presented three bedroom holiday house located just a short drive from the historic burgh of St Andrews, famous for its world class golf courses and stunning beaches. The property forms part of a recently converted steading building adjacent to the owners' home; with three double bedrooms (one downstairs) and three bathrooms it is ideal for families, golfers and couples alike. The house was completed in August 2012 and retains many original features including a quirky backdrop to the woodburning stove in the living room; recessed stone 'beeboles' where old-fashioned straw beehives were over-wintered. The Beehouse enjoys breathtaking south-facing views across arable farmland and woodland and is in a very peaceful private location. There is a patio area accessed from the open plan living/dining/kitchen area and an area of garden for use of guests. Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement with the owners and at a nominal fee of £20 per pet. Please note that short lets of a minimum of 2 nights are welcome and please contact the owner for correct quote. Please note that the nightly rate is NOT calculated at 1/7 of a 7 night stay instead is calculated as a percentage of the weekly rate. ****Please contact owner for a quote - do not rely on this website to give correct online quotes for short stays.****

About the Owner

Guy & Elizabeth Logan are owners of The Beehouse, and live in Dairsie Manse which is just adjacent with our two sons; Tom (13yrs) and Bruce (10 yrs), our Labrador Tess (2 yrs) and cat Milo (5 yrs). We bought Dairsie Manse 10 years ago and fully renovated the 200 year old Georgian property to form a wonderful family home. In 2012 we developed the steading building which was a set of 'outbuildings' used to service the Manse in its day; coach house, wash room, stables, cattle stalls & hayloft. The Beehouse forms part of this conversion. Guy is from Fife, Elizabeth is a newcomer (of 16 years) from London, Sydney & USA. Both boys were born here.

Coast/Beach:

The Beehouse is located near the North East Fife coastline and many beaches are easily accessed by car. Tentsmuir Forest & Kinshaldy Beach are 15 minutes' drive and can also be easily accessed by bicycle. The St Andrews beaches West & East Sands are 10 minutes' drive and many of the East Neuk fishing villages with a choice of sandy & pebble beaches are within a 1/2 hour drive. Award winning Kingsbarns Beach is 25 minutes away.

Travel:

The nearest airports to The Beehouse include (international & national) Edinburgh (55 miles), Glasgow (100 miles) and (national) Dundee (13 miles). Local train stations include Cupar & Leuchars both within 3 miles, however it is recommended that use of a car is preferred.

Distances:

St Andrews is 7 miles and Cupar 2 miles from The Beehouse. Dundee 12 miles. Edinburgh 55 miles, Glasgow 100 miles.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The Beehouse has 3 double bedrooms which can be made up as superking doubles or twin rooms. Each bedroom has a bathroom; two of which are ensuite and one is adjoining. The bathrooms have power showers with excellent pressure and the two ensuite bathrooms also have bathtubs, with Victoriana hand held shower units as well as taps. The sinks and WCs are integrated into a beautifully tiled wall unit. The kitchen/dining/living area is open plan with access to the patio and garden from the living area. There is a fabulous woodburning stove which will keep you cosy on the chillier days with the stone recessed 'beeboles' forming the backdrop. Outside: The Beehouse is set in a wonderful rural location adjacent to the owners' home down a very private driveway. Surrounding gardens belonging to the owners are mature with some fine trees and interesting shrubs. The Beehouse has its own private patio and area of garden directly outside the living area, as well as plenty of space for parking (covered parking also available if required). BBQ & outdoor furniture can be provided. Utility Room: The utility room is located upstairs and has a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, clothes drying stand, ironing board & iron, as well as a full set of cleaning products & equipment Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen & towels included; the property is cleaned once a week or after every booking if a short stay. Other: The entrance hall has space for hanging coats and storing shoes and an under stairs cupboard for storage of golf clubs or other sporting equipment
