About deborah stallard

I live here with my two wonderful miniature schnauzer girls aged 6.

We love to take long walks along to Pagham and the coast of Selsey meeting friendly people along the way.

No matter what time of year it is the changing seasons bring wonderful sunrises, calm and balmy seas.

The full moon rises also on the east coast and sets itself across the sea lighting up for as far as the eye can see. Just some reasons why living here is so wonderful for us.

Why deborah stallard chose Selsey

I fell in love with this wonderful beach location on the south coast and had to live here. this 1960's house stands proudly over looking the east bay in Selsey. Everyone here are friendly and caring, its very tranquil spot and no hustle and bustle packed beaches, quiet and the water is clear. Its close to South Downs, Pagham and Chichester, with its cobbled streets and beautiful cathedral are all just a 10-minute drive away. The Witterings beaches, picturesque Bosham, Arundel Castle and Portsmouth are easily reached. Shops, pubs and restaurants 0.5 miles. Its a great place to live and visit and so I decided to offer a part of our home, an attached apartment for others to enjoy it too.

What makes this apartment unique

In a superb peaceful location on the unspoilt East Beach area of Selsey, this ‘boutique style’ compact apartment is an extended part of the owner’s large gated home, with access onto a quiet secluded tidal beach. Uninterrupted sea views can be enjoyed from the master bedroom and this light, airy apartment has contemporary furnishing, tastefully styled throughout. Windsurfing, sailing, riding, fishing, golf, walking and birdwatching are all available locally as well as many National Trust homes and gardens waiting to be discovered. Selsey has a good array of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants with freshly caught fish of the day and leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool. In the summer months, Selsey buzzes with festivities with a variety of fêtes, carnivals and festivals.

Lovely house, great base for a stay in the area

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this stay - the apartment was surprisingly spacious, which meant that we had plenty of space for a travel cot in the main bedroom. Access to the beach was really convenient, and the kids loved it.

Visits to Portsmouth docks, Arundel Castle, and Chichester were all within easy travelling distance too, as was the Seal pub, which was really nice. Good food and a nice atmosphere - if you're after good food, it gets my vote.

Quick note too to say thanks to our hostesses - they were very friendly and really accommodating. If we ever find ourselves heading back to the area (which is more than likely), we may very well come back again.

Lovely comfortable place.

  • 5 of 5

Just got home from a lovely short break at Little Tides Reach. Beautiful accommodation with great sea views from the master bedroom. Well appointed with everything you need for a home from home.

Thanks to our host for allowing us to switch dates because of the snow in early March, for great communication before we arrived and for checking that all was OK when we were there.

Recommend a walk along the beach to Pagham Harbour turn left on the seawall - peaceful and lots of over wintering birds when we visited. A short walk inland to see St Wilfrid’s Chapel and the remains of motte and bailey embankment of the Norman Church Norton camp were of interest too.

Chichester is well worth a visit too. Lots of independent shops and an awesome Cathedral with very interesting ecclesiastical art. Arundel is close by and has lots of gift shops, a great local brewery and picturesque architecture.

A great base for exploring this part of West Sussex.

Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great location, lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The apartment was perfect. Comfortable bed and an amazing shower, what more can you want!!

It was lovely to walk out the back gate and be on the beach. Amazing sun rises to wake up to.

There are some lovely places to go to just a short drive away. West Wittering, Midhurst, Chichester and Lyndhurst, new forest.

We will definitely recommend this to others.

Thanks for a lovely weekend break.

What a dilemma............

  • 4 of 5

It’s difficult to rate this property. It really depends on what you are looking for. It was clean and tidy. Everything needed was provided. The owner was really friendly. Unfortunately, we thought the property was designed the wrong way round.

The fabulous view was seen from the bedroom (which you only use at night), while the sitting room was at the back with no view whatsoever. The local area was great for walking but being situated at the end of a peninsular, it was a daily trek to venture further afield.

This was a week of reminiscing for us, visiting many of the places we had enjoyed in the past. Arundel, Weald & Downland Museum, Dell Quay, Gunwharf Quay. What we did find was the brilliant Crazy Golf at the Chichester Golf Club. Our days were filled with happy memories. There is so much to see.

Again, unfortunately, the evenings were a bit of a let down. Being quite old, the days were enough for us. A comfortable evening watching the box was all we could manage, however, the 22” TV was a bit of a shock in these days of 55” smart TV’s. There were games and books and dvd’s, so maybe it’s just us.

So, the dilemma. We had a really good holiday. The property was clean and tidy. The towels and sheets spotlessly white. The owners friendly. However, it could have been better but to be honest, we’re not complaining. Would we go again? Yes - so that says it all.
