Apartment in La Cala de Mijas, Costa del Sol, Spain - Complete Renovation. Sunny Beach Apartment Great For Families And Couples

Our apartment is on the 1st floor (enter by street level) of a 3 story complex. The direct beach front with stunning views offers a choice of 2 restaurants. Torrenueva has a local family run supermarket and traditional restaurants. We have a gated pretty pool garden leading to the beach. La Cala is a 15 min stroll with a number of shops, banks, bars and restaurants. There are a number of good beaches all along the coast between Marbella to the west and Feungirola to the east.

Excellent apartment

Lorraine’s apartment was absolutely ideal for a week’s relaxing holiday. The photographs really don’t do it justice. Not surprisingly, it was the photos of the outside space which really sold it to me and I wasn’t disappointed. We were both happy sitting in our respective sunny/shaded areas of the balcony until about mid-afternoon, which made for a lovely lazy day, being within easy distance of the kitchen for lunch/wine! We then went down to the garden, which is beautifully kept and has (locked) gates to the beach. All very easy.

We don’t like to hire a car and so it is important to us to be able to access everything on foot or by easily accessible taxi/bus. This is another reason why this apartment satisfied so many of our requirements. It is only a five minute walk to a really well-stocked supermarket (This does close in the afternoons, but then opens until late). It is an easy 20 minute stroll to La Cala, where there are many restaurants and bars and also another good, larger, supermarket. We walked to this on one occasion and got a taxi back, which was very easy as there is a taxi rank in the square. I think it was about 5 euro back to the apartment, so no point struggling with bags. However if you do have a car, there are both Aldi and Lidl close-by.

There are some lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk (we particularly liked the Spanish one (llaves) and the Italian (Monica’s)) and we also had a lovely meal at the El Oceano hotel (about 10 minutes walk), which has stunning views from the restaurant. You also get the most lovely views form the coastal path which is just outside the apartment. We walked along that on quite a few evenings, as did many local people.

The apartment is a short drive from the airport. Lorraine organised transport for us, which was excellent and reasonably priced. The apartment is on a good bus route should you want to explore a little. Excellent wi-fi in the apartment (which also supplies the UK TV channels) meant we were able to check routes prior to travel.

In conclusion, a lovely apartment which is bigger than you expect, with lovely views, in the most convenient of locations and having an owner who was very easy to contact (we e-mailed and spoke on the phone prior to our stay) and who genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay. Many thanks – we shall be back!

SUPERB LOCATION!

We have now been to Lorraine's apartment 4 times, and always have a wonderful holiday. The gardens and pool area are of the highest standard, and are always immaculate. The balcony overlooks the beach, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within easy reach.

We have already booked for next year!!

Winter Getaway

Just returned from nearly 3 weeks at this fabulous apartment.

The location is outstanding being just a stones throw from the beach.

Sitting on the balcony having breakfast in the sun enjoying the far reaching views is to die for.

The apartment is spacious ,clean, tastefully decorated and Lorraine the owner is very helpful and obliging.

Since last year a new boardwalk has been laid from La Carla to Calahonda so you can now enjoy a leisurely stroll for miles along the coastline.

The gardens and pool are beautifully maintained and there are many excellent beach bars, restaurants and a good supermarket all within easy walking distance.

We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and are hoping to return for 4 weeks next year.

Book with confidence and enjoy.

Stunning Location!!

What a wonderful apartment! From the moment we walked through the door we switched off completely. The views from the balcony are breathtaking and the pool and gardens within the complex are peaceful and relaxing. The apartment is modern and well maintained and I missed the sound of the waves when I woke this morning. Thankyou for sharing this beautiful place with us. We will definitely return next year.

We are so happy to be the owners of this beautiful apartment. In 2012 the stunning sea views sold us this stylish front line apartment. We have completely re modernised the apartment together with some beautiful soft furnishings.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The local beach directly in front of the apartment has lovely sun loungers and parasols for hire with a drink included in the price! If you walk along the coast for 10 minutes you arrive at the award winning beach of La Cala. The popular resorts of Elviria. Cabapino Marbella and Fuengirola are all short drives away and offer excellent beach facilities.

Travel:

Malaga Airport is less than a 30 minute drive. A car is not necessary as the apt is close to the beach and town. By bus or car you can visit the beautiful towns, villages and beaches along the coastline.

Taxi Transfer can be arranged.

Distances:

La Cala is a pleasant 15 minute stroll. Aqua Park Fuengirola- 10 mins drive. Aqua Park Torremolinos- 20 mins drive. Myramar Shopping Centre, Fuengirola- 10 mins drive. Puerto Cabopino - 10 mins drive. Puerto Banus 20 mins drive. Marbella orange square 20 mins drive.

Further Details:

La Cala hosts a weekly open market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We feel our apartment is in a perfect position as from the balcony you can see the whole length of the La Cala beach. Torruneava has Ian's favourite restaurant Llaves whilst I love the local friendly supermarket within 5 minute walk. And La Cala is only a 15 minute stroll to the ancient square with more bars and restaurants.
