1 Bedroom holiday cottage in Guernsey, ideal for two, a short walk to coastal headland and beaches. La Petite Maison has been newly renovated to provide modern comfortable accommodation comprising double bedroom, bathroom, open plan well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge with flat screen TV and digital channels, Wi Fi, DVD, CD/radio. Outdoors there is one parking space and a patio with BBQ, table and chairs for alfresco eating. The property can also accommodate one child under 10 years of age. Available all year round for holiday rentals. Awarded a 4 star rating and a gold standard award in May 2013.

Perfect holiday cottage

Spotlessly clean, well equipped property in a convenient location. The cottage is a cleverly converted outbuilding in the owners garden, complete with its own private patio area. We enjoyed the welcome hamper provided by the host.

Charming cottage.

Very nice cozy cottage. A warm welcome from Sarah on arrival along with a welcome food pack was very much appreciated.

If visiting Guernsey this cottage is a must for two people.

LE Petite Maison

A lovely place to spend a holiday in Guernsey. Spotlessly clean,very well equipped and very well located for exploring the island using the local buses. At the side of the property is a compact area with table ,chairs and BBQ which was a filled with flowers and faces south. This is a perfect place for two people.would recommend it highly.

Nice cottage, good location

A very nice and well equipped cottage in a good location for walking the Vale end of the island and for busses into St. Peter Port. The only downside is the parking, which is a bit of a squeeze to get into and wouldn't be suitable for larger cars or inexperienced drivers.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. Many of my guests prefer to leave the car at home and explore the island on foot, by bus or hire bikes. There are some super walks and cycle routes just outside the property. For those guests choosing to hire a car, a small vehicle is recommended due to Guernsey's narrow roads. There is a layby just opposite the cottage for those wishing to park a larger vehicle but vans and 4x4's have also successfully negotiated the drive.

Holiday luxury

Had seen the photos on Owners Direct and hoped that it was not a case of creative photography and camera angles, especially as this holiday was a treat for my husbands big birthday. Tada! No need to worry because it's perfect in every way. The living and cooking area is more than adequate for a couple and fully equipped. The bathroom has a roomy bath with shower over and has a lovely high ceiling with a huge heated towel rail. Lovely soft towels, welcome pack and any gadgets you need. Even hair straighteners and hair dryer in the bedroom! Full GCH makes this a perfect property in the colder months.

Everything you need is in walking distance and there is space for parking, but we didn't hire a car as the bus service takes you where you need to go and the travel card is very good value.

We really can't wait to visit again, thank you so much!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Five minutes walk away from Grand Harve Bay and Rousse. Les Amarreurs Harbour, Ladies Bay and Chouet Bay and headland a further 10-20 minutes walk. The popular Pembroke Bay is a 30-40 minute walk. Cobo Bay, Grandes Rocques and Port Soif beaches are a ten minute drive. South coast beaches such as Fermain Bay and Petit Bot are reachable by car (30 minutes).

Travel:

Guernsey airport is 20 minutes by car. Use of a car is recommended for exploring the island. Cycles can be hired locally.

Distances:

Oatlands visitor attraction and the Guernsey Freesia Centre (5 minutes walk). Guernsey Candles (ten minutes walk). St Peter Port (ten minutes by car) with its picturesque town centre, Castle Cornet museum, Victor Hugo's House, Candie Museum and Gardens.

A sympathetically renovated cottage ideal for walkers, birdwatchers on anyone seeking relaxation. Wonderful coastal walks and sea fishing can be enjoyed a few minutes from the cottage. A Simply Food supermarket is conveniently located nearby along with 2 pubs and 2 restaurants. Visitor attractions such as Oatlands, the Freesia Centre and Guernsey Candles are within walking distance. Picturesque St Peter Port, a wider range of shops and restaurants, and attractions such as Castle Cornet, Victor Hugo's House and Candie Museum and Gardens are a bus/car ride away. The Occupation Museum, Little Chapel, and Fort Grey are reachable by car or bus via St Peter Port.

A 25% deposit is required within 48 hours of booking and the balance is due at least 8 weeks prior to your stay. A further £150 security deposit is required to be paid with the balance, this will be refunded shortly after your stay, subject to satisfactory inspection. Changeover Day:
Changeover day is a Saturday between May and September. At other times there is flexibility as to the changeover day. The accommodation should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. Guests are requested not to arrive until 4pm on changeover day.
