The cumba (bay window area) in the living room overlooks a cobbled street with small shops and cafes, where you can feel part of neighborhood life in all its character. A few floors up, on the roof-top, shared terraces have gorgeous views of the Bosphorus, Golden Horn and the Old City. Sishane metro station is 2 minutes walk away.The apartment opens into a welcoming hall, with dining room and well-equipped kitchen either side. The living room with comfy sofa adjoins the dining room and makes a versatile area for relaxing. There are two good-sized double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room plus small dressing/bedroom very suitable for a child or baby. The additional family bathroom is spacious with a large marble-tiled shower.

About the Owner

We offer sensitively renovated historic apartments with elegance and character, in the fascinating district of Beyoglu: the heart of Istanbul. We're a small Turkish-British family project. Julia and Tarkan have led international lives based in Istanbul then Singapore, most recently balancing between England and Istanbul. Along the way we've raised our son, now 12 years old, across the cultures as we've steadily grown our other baby - this holiday apartment project which we now run full-time. We understand the makings of a great city-break stay and we try our very hardest to deliver it to our guests in Istanbul. Your questions and booking will be handled by us and then, on arrival, Tarkan's family and our team, with their natural Turkish hospitality, will welcome you to your apartment.

“I would thoroughly recommend this apartment:

an incredible location in the heart of Beyoglu, next to Galata Tower, close to great restaurants, shops and bars popular with locals and walking distance to the more touristy Sultanahmet (although be prepared for the hills!);

extremely high specification and decor in the apartment itself – boutique-style design, very spacious, comfy beds, modern bathrooms;

access to roof terrace with breathtaking views over the Golden Horn and the city, perfect for watching the sunset as well as the flat itself, the customer service before and during (confirming the booking, acknowledging payment, offering advice, greet on arrival) was impeccable.”

Galata has a genuine, very welcoming and diverse community with an intriguing mix of cafes, restaurants, small grocery shops and artistic boutiques. Elegant 19th Century buildings line cobbled streets, with discoveries waiting around every corner. No matter where you wander, you’ll always find your way back to Galata Tower, which has been a well-loved landmark for the last 700 years. Metro, bus, tram and ferry stops are all only a couple of minutes’ walk away. You can be in Sultanahmet (for the big sights of Ayasofya, Topkapı, Blue Mosque etc.) in about 12 minutes by public transport or 20 minutes on foot. In the other direction, by Metro, you can be in Şişli (for Istanbul’s biggest shopping mall) in 10 minutes or Levent (for Istanbul’s business district) in 15 minutes.
