Aslan place is on the third floor of a grand 19th century building -with lion motifs- right next to the beautiful Galata Tower: from some windows you feel you can touch the tower. The living room overlooks the lively pedestrianised square below, while the kitchen and 1 bedroom have glimpses across the Golden Horn. Sishane metro station is less than 2 minutes walk away. The bedrooms are stylish: two doubles (one is very big with lots of space for an additional folding bed) and one twin. There is a good sized, well-equipped kitchen with separate dining area and a comfortable living room with sofa and bar table overlooking the tower. The shower room has a loo and there’s a second separate loo along the spacious hallway. Aslan!place is big at 120 m2 in total and is bright and welcoming with lovely high ceilings throughout. The exposed floorboards are all original and the bare-wood panelled doors have been retained. The bedrooms comfortably accommodate six or seven people.
About the Owner
We offer sensitively renovated historic apartments with elegance and character, in the fascinating district of Beyoglu: the heart of Istanbul. We're a small Turkish-British family project. Julia and Tarkan have led international lives based in Istanbul then Singapore, most recently balancing between England and Istanbul. Along the way we've raised our son, now 12 years old, across the cultures as we've steadily grown our other baby - this holiday apartment project which we now run full-time. We understand the makings of a great city-break stay and we try our very hardest to deliver it to our guests in Istanbul. Your questions and booking will be handled by us and then, on arrival, Tarkan's family and our team, with their natural Turkish hospitality, will welcome you to your apartment.

Great apartment, great location!
“We enjoyed 5 days in Istanbul with the family and found this the perfect place to explore the city whilst seeing a little more of how the locals live too. The location meant that it was always easy to find our way home, as the Galata Tower was our landmark next door, and allowed us to use the local shops and restaurants as we wished, without making expeditions far away after a long day sightseeing.
The apartment itself was light, airy and elegantly presented, without being scary to bring kids in, with interesting views and a really relaxing feel to it. Well-equipped, we ate breakfast in every day and had some comfortable early evening snacks before venturing out with recharged batteries. Yes; there are 3 flights of stairs, but that balanced the baklava nicely! We plan to return.”

“Galata has a genuine, very welcoming and diverse community with an intriguing mix of cafes, restaurants, small grocery shops and artistic boutiques. Elegant 19th Century buildings line cobbled streets, with discoveries waiting around every corner. No matter where you wander, you’ll always find your way back to Galata Tower, which has been a well-loved landmark for the last 700 years. Metro, bus, tram and ferry stops are all only a couple of minutes’ walk away. You can be in Sultanahmet (for the big sights of Ayasofya, Topkapı, Blue Mosque etc.) in about 12 minutes by public transport or 20 minutes on foot. In the other direction, by Metro, you can be in Şişli (for Istanbul’s biggest shopping mall) in 10 minutes or Levent (for Istanbul’s business district) in 15 minutes.”
