About the Owner

Daryl and Kate Mason bought the house in Le Faget in 2004 and have rented it out to holiday makers since 2005. We visit the house with our family around 5 times a year, enjoying Easter, summer and skiing breaks. We really love our time at the house and the different types of holidays that the surrounding areas of interest offer. Daryl has now become a semi-proficient surfer, from his time spent on the beaches in Biarritz and his fly-fishing has definitely improved as he's enjoyed many evening rises on the rivers! We have 3 children who have grown up holidaying in France and hope to have many years left to enjoy the house.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"What a wonderful, peaceful location and well equipped house. We loved the pool and the great barbecue was used every night by my husband whilst viewing the sunsets..beautiful. We will come again, thank you" The Walker Family.

"Very comfortable accommodation and a great base to watch the Tour de France. Wonderful walks in the mountains and the Train D'Artouste was definitely worth the visit. Wonderful views and lots of wildlife. Kids enjoyed the water park down the road, however only went once as we couldn't get them out of the pool" Parker Family from Herefordshire.

One week stay, two couples

  • 3 of 5

A well-equipped and well maintained house with interesting features. Spacious, comfortable living area and two completely separate bedroom and bathroom areas. Peaceful location in farming community but lack of village amenities. Pleasant garden and pool, screened from lane. Ample parking even for motorhome. Narrow lanes around le Faget but otherwise well situated for access to tourist attractions in region.

Owner's Response: Oloron, the local and sizeable town is a 5 minute drive from the house. It has all the amenities you would want including visitor attractions, shops, restaurants, large Leclerc supermarket. It is an interesting and typical Pyrenean town with stunning cathedral with the large river running through its centre.
